Makishi market is finally open. I miss Okinawa so badly. Lived there for almost 10 years. Just moved to the US recently. Watching this really make me happy. The views, foods.. Man, I miss it. Hope I can visit someday.
It was good to see your mom walking around shotengai. I hope she got some goodies to eat in the hotel room. The mozoku and tsukemono looks yummy. All I would need is a bowl rice to eat them with. Mozoku kind of looks like ogo. How does it taste?

Do me a huge favor. Go to Unken Beach. Go see the old man with a little shop on the beach and tell him I miss his cooking. Also, Casa Taco and get some taco rice. Basically, let me live through your eyes, because I lived 10 years in Japan and Okinawa still calls my soul home to her every day of my life. I'm literally in tears right now.
Yui rail is really fine for big suitcases - there are elevators to get to the track level. I recommend using Yui-rail (24hour passes) are available - you can go to Shuri castle and the Airport
Ahhh I really miss Okinawa. My parents are originally from Nago and I used to go back all the time but since covid happened I haven’t been back for 4 years. Can’t wait to go back in 2024

I regret that I wasn't able to go to Makishi Market last November during my visit but I will definitely go when I visit again next year in the spring. I get excited whenever you feature that area bc I used to go there in my younger years during my Okinawa residency. Thank you for all your vlogs of Okinawa and Japan.

Guys, you have to start taking it easy on Mom. I know you care very much but she needs to rest from all this walking. Just stop quick for a tea or snack so she can sit. You dont realize how hard it is when you're older! Please let her hold your arm while walking downhill, she is too frail to fall.
