Visite de l'église Saint Michel de Soufflenheim 

Il semblerait qu'un sanctuaire dédié à St Michel ait été érigé par des moines irlandais au IXe siècle sur le mont de l'église.
Au XVIIIe siècle la vie religieuse étant très active à Soufflenheim, une nouvelle église est construite sur l'Oelberg en 1762. Elle sera consacrée en 1766. La paroisse ne cesse ensuite de s'élargir, et se sent à l'étroit dans le sanctuaire. Monsieur le curé de l'époque décide alors de construire une église plus grande. Les travaux débutent le 21 juin 1825 et la bénédiction est faite le 2 octobre 1831.
Après les bombardements du 8 février 1945, elle est très endommagée, mais elle renaît de ses décombres grâce à l'enthousiasme de tous et du curé Burger.
M. le curé Boell entreprend la restauration ainsi qu'un remaniement complet de l'intérieur de l'église d'après les plans de l'architecte Gustave Stosskopf, grand prix de Rome et Alfred Fleischmann.
Le 20 février 1977, Mgr Léon Arthur Elchinger, évêque de Strasbourg et enfant de la paroisse, consacre le maître-autel avec les reliques de saint Thimotée et sainte Aurélie.
It would seem that a shrine dedicated to St Michael was erected by Irish monks in the 9th century on the mount of the church.
In the 18th century, religious life being very active in Soufflenheim, a new church was built on the Oelberg in 1762. It was consecrated in 1766. The parish then continued to expand, and felt cramped in the sanctuary. . The priest at the time then decided to build a bigger church. Work began on June 21, 1825 and the blessing was made on October 2, 1831.
After the bombings of February 8, 1945, it was badly damaged, but it was reborn from its rubble thanks to the enthusiasm of everyone and Father Burger.
Father Boell undertook the restoration as well as a complete overhaul of the interior of the church according to the plans of the architect Gustave Stosskopf, Grand Prix de Rome and Alfred Fleischmann.
On February 20, 1977, Mgr Léon Arthur Elchinger, bishop of Strasbourg and child of the parish, consecrated the high altar with the relics of Saint Thimotée and Saint Aurélie.
