In this video I went to visit Huntington Beach Dodge here in SoCal to follow up on some very low ads they have for Dodge Challenger and Charger SXT and RT models. Follow me on Instagram, Tiktok, and Facebook at OCMotivator
And this is where YOU need to step up and be strong. What they say or do means nothing. It’s a battle of wills and if you will stand strong YOU will win!!!
Like OC Motivator says, if the deal's hairy break out the Manscape, grab the ball shaver and get to it, You might both get a couple of nicks, but you make sure you come out clean.💇♂️🤑
@@ocmotivatorbrother im 58 years old never once have I paid sticker price for a car. And every car I bought I made the dealer show me what they got it for from the manufacturer and then I haggle with them from the sticker price and the days it's been on the lot. So I got a good deal and they still profit in the end. Then come back in with a Cashier's check to finalize the Deal and sometimes that killed the deal but not very often. I stay away from the dealers financing like the plague. Can't tell you how many times I catch them back loading the loan. Only for some lame ass excuse that it's just numbers that's not the selling price. Yeah. Also if anything extra was added to the vehicle by the dealer or me that got haggled too and or payed for upfront. I got trained by my father as a young kid he used to go into a dealer just to work a deal on vehicle for shits and giggles even though he wasn't really buying so when he was ready to buy he knew not to waste his time with a dealer that wouldn't budge.
That paint sealant is the biggest rip off at any dealer I detail cars and they use a bottle of 16 dollar ceramic spray coating charge you 1995.00 total scam
I did it for a company at new car dealerships in 1985 .. part time job after high school .. and it was a big profit deal back then too.. $50 undercoating and paint protection charged to the dealership and then they charge $1000 .. so $950 profit !!! When I saw people looking at the new cars , I told them to negoiate the price on the add on .. which was required on all new cars and many new car dealerships my company was doing business with.
@@MadMan_123 don’t buy paint protection film from dealerships go to a high quality detail shop that is certified. The film should not be visible when done correctly depending on which parts of the car you want done. the film used at dealerships 99% of the time is cheap film that doesn’t actually protect from rock chips and self-heal
Great video. 2023 Scat Packs with the swinger wide body and wheels package, are going for $ 8,500 under MSRP beginning this weekend, until the end of May. They're calling it invoice pricing to the public. So they say.
@@ocmotivatorI work with a guy and became friends with his that owns a totally stock looking 05 Silverado ext cab 4x4 with a 900hp nascar motor in it! We raced a C8 and beat it bad kept pulling on him on the freeway, imagine what was going on in C8s head 🤯 The truck sounds just like a NASCAR ITS LOUD! How he got the motor? His name is Kyle Symington he was a NASCAR tire changer, he has a You Tube video with over 2 million views, his uncle was also the governor of Arizona Fye Symington witch is also where we live! He has 2 of these 80k motors that were given to him when nascar discontinued these types motors, it’s pretty cool having a nascar pit guy as your personal side work mechanic, he’s helping me put red tow hooks on my new Colorado Trail Boss and helping me put a fuel pump in my 02 Silverado ext 4x4 tomorrow, he’s a huge Chevy guy just like me, he also built a 140k WRX Subaru that does 0 to 60 in 2.8 seconds look it up on face book if you don’t believe me! ✌️
@@ocmotivatorThe transmission is a built race tranny, I’m convincing him to put this truck on a You Tube quick clip video, it pulls so hard, the motor looks sic in the engine bay!
@@jasras5003if the Demon 170 hooks up then it’ll win hands down in the 1/4. The Lambo is all wheel drive so if the demon spins too much then it’ll catch it. With that said, after 149mph the Lambo will leave it in the dust and cruise right past 200.
I just bought my wife’s 23 R/T challenger loaded except sunroof, shaker package msrp $56,456.00 for with discount and incentives $42,656.00 at bill Harris cdjr in Ashland, Ohio GREAT people to deal with !!! Straight up 👍
It’s literally expensive everywhere have you seen the house prices in Texas? Ppl were moving out there when the house were $100k that shits gone now. The thing is once you move out of Cali you’re kinda fucked and this is where the most work is depending what you do
I'm more willing to accept add ons if the price of the actual car doesnt have " maket adjustment ". I also work on commission and have zero problem with someone making a living. But, if i feel like they are being shady I'll walk... too old for bs and they made more than one. I was saying a few months ago, stop buying the damn things and they will stop with the markups.
EXACTLY!! Just went to look at a Type R and they wanted +$10k over MSRP/+$60k OTD, and they had it roped off like it was a +$100k exotic! These dealers are crazy but it’s the people paying it that are ridiculous! NTM, they were approving these crazy loans for people too. I REFUSE to pay that BS! Hope that you and yours have a good one.
I went to my local dodge dealership this past weekend seeing they had six Challenger T/A's with the 6 speeds and the price on line was 42k marked down from the MSRP of 57k, once there I wanted to check out the MDH on the drivers door to see how old the car was, it was manufactured in October of 23, and as I reached to pull the hold release I noticed that it had 503miles on it which on line it said 18. Turns out the manufactory's are giving the dealership incentive of $1000 to put 500 miles on these cars! I was shocked because I've never purchase a new car in my life with more than 20 miles and once they added all then add-ons window tint and paint protection the car was back up to the 57k. I walked, for a car that's coming up on a year on the lot and the so called price reduction and the high interest rate, they aren't worth it! I do wonder if they take those miles off the warranty...
This is off - subject somewhat, but what state are you in, and what % tint would it be? Are they already tinted and "paint protected" or can you choose either one before buying?
But what does the manufacturer gain from having dealers put 500 miles on these "new" cars? That doesn't make any sense for those ignorant of manufacturer practices
I love watching your videos I've been watching them for quite a while. I love cars and I have a Challenger SXT how to help keep me going watching these videos I lost my job recently at the end of February they shut down a building that I have done maintenance on for years and I thought it would be easy for me to get a job but I found out different I'm 55 years old and I put in a bunch of applications with all my experience and have not received one offer just pray for me keep doing the videos I enjoy them
You should interview people that bought these cars as collectors items so we can laugh at them HAHA. Also consider I got my zero mile Hellcat under MSRP.
When I bought my 2023 Compass Trailhawk last September the dealership didn’t trying to tack on ANY add ons and I got the vehicle for 10k off sticker. Was a breath of fresh air compared to the usual crap many of these dealers try to pull. Edited to add I did not purchase from THIS dealership. I live in Ohio.
I can't believe they were actually selling those Scat Packs for those ridiculous markups?? Dang! 😂😂 Also, why not sell at an honest price and get people to come back and not trying to azz rape them being greedy bastereds; so when he said they are just trying to make money is what is wrong with society today in my opinion.
Just wondering, do you work for free? I think most of these dealers are scummy so don't get me wrong but no one forced people to pay that money. $40K markup and I walked out...laughing all the way.
@hunghuge7262 There's nothing wrong with being greedy? Yep, that reasoning is why we as a society are messed up today. Greed is one of the 7 deadly sins in the Bible.
The whole purpose of this video is why I'm glad I've been learning about the truth of lending act and being told your supposed to ask about this when you first walk into a dealership
from everything I've seen, good or bad you call things straight down the middle. Any dealership that wouldn't allow you on the property, i don't want to visit/buy from. My family has owned several dealerships for decades and I've worked as everything from sweeping and pre-delivery detailing to sales to certified tech to service writing. And at *other* than my family's dealerships. (They and I) have a rep for shooting straight and i wouldn't stay anywhere that tried to compromise me. Thanks for what you do. 😊
The small Dodge dealer in my town has been selling all of their Challengers and Chargers for at least $9K below MSRP. No BS. The cars generally sell in a day or two.
This ought to be good....Glad you're making these videos because I'm getting flack from numerous dealers. The BIGGEST problem is paying cash. You'd think they would be happy with any buyer with a pulse.
Great video man, I've actually bought my last 3 cars from there. They seem like they have the better deals in Orange County,, but each time I buy it I feel they added the add ons but I still just ended up buying it.
I bought my 2020 Dodge Challenger GT there when they were giving good deals on their website in December of 2020. I walked out the door with a $24,000 sticker price on a brand new GT and was very happy. I got screwed on their financing at the time but with the interest rate I got, no one else can beat it today so I'm happy.
Great video bro, 😎 keep up the good work, yeah I use to go to HB Dodge all the time, and supposedly some police departments are partnering with Tesla they will be testing that out now especially in Orange County you will see Tesla Police vehicles. 🚗 But great video HB Dodge got tons of cars if you know how to talk you can get them cars way under MSRP, just have to know what to say & asking the right questions. God Bless 😇
Thats a fair dealer. Last month I needed a CCV filter for my 2017 Ram 2500 Cummins truck. I like to support the dealer I bought it from. Now originally I paid $147 for it at that dealer 3 years ago. But last month when I went there to get they tried to charge me $287. Understand this filter is made by Cummins for Mopar. I left the dealer told them to stick it up they asses. Went to my Cummins dealer near me and got it the same exact part for $139. None of the aftermarket CCV filters are good enough for my 6.7 Cummins you can see the filter media isn't the same quality or it's casing so I'll stick to OEM. So they are also price gouging with parts too now. Don't pay it people be wise.
My local Ram dealer wanted over $300 for a thermostat for a 6.7 Cummins. Screw that! Went to Cummins and got the exact same one for $59 tax included. Damn I despise dealers😡
Seen a video yesterday that there will be a new law for the dealerships that they cant advertise a price and u come in and they switch the price on you. U can report them and they will get a fine. I think this comes in effect in June.
I like HB CDJR. Bought a Cherokee Trailhawk from them back in 2015. Was a pretty smooth experience, no issues. These guys always had best advertised deals around. I'd buy there again, I'd just ignore the BS and I'm also always willing to walk if I don't get the deal as advertised. We're in a buyers' market now and that will continue and get even better.
I went with my nephew to get his R/Tcharger from this dealer, they were cool, had heavy discounts but were very upfront about the add ons that is how they make money, we negotiated the price of those down and he bought it, still price was around 6K less than other 2 dealers we went
I got completely burned by Huntington Beach CJDR a few months ago by Elijah himself. Big "discount" that evaporated the second you appeared and the sales manager got involved. Good cop bad cop. Add-ons were not optional. Drove 2 hours just to get mad, feel misled, and drive home after depressed eating a Charlie's Gyro down on the strip.
Just went got my grandma a brand new 2023 charger 3 days ago, nothing fancy just a SXT it is my grandma after all lol. But i did get her one with all the options, heated/cooled seats, sunroof, the big radio, guy even threw in snow tires (we live in Montana), tinted windows and the black rims. We even got it in the lime green. Out the door everything said and done i paid just over $26k. There are some real good deals/desperate dealers out there right now just gotta find them
In Vegas when we lived there, my wife and I would drive into a dealership and wait for the vultures to come out. We would laugh. They think we have never purchased a new car in our life. I know they need to make money but like you, do not lie to me.
A couple of years ago, we went to buy a vehicle. It had a bunch worthless add-ons. I told the sales person if they couldn't take those off, there was no point in going any further. He said he could ask his boss but he didn't think they would. I said go ahead and ask anyway. They took all of them off.
My last Dodge came from H.B.Dodge in 2016, but I bought it thru Riverside Dodge. I shopped for a couple of months. It was the last day of the month & I went to Riverside & they didn’t have the Scat Pack I wanted ( it had everything except the upgraded stereo) so I was leaving & of course they run out & say that they might be able to sell me one from H.B. , which I had bargained on & didn’t get my price. Well, they got it from H.B. & I bought it for $39,900. A great deal then was about $45,000. Riverside said they were actually losing $ but they would make their monthly bonus selling that car. I doubt that was true but who knows. I’m looking at it in my driveway now !😀
It's rare to get lucky and pay a price for a vehicle, and it retain It's value. I managed to do that only once with a 2005 Daytona edition RAM 1500 (2door/2wd) that I still own. I bought it used in 2007 with 24k miles on it for $13k. The price on it bottomed out at around $10k about 10 to 12 years ago. Now it is worth as much or more than I originally paid for it. That being said, I have sank enough money into it, keeping it maintained that I would still be in the hole if I sold it now. So I just keep it and keep enjoying it.
If they bring back hemi, it will be limited special editions with even higher markups because they are rare. Been hearing its the last of the v8s, and manual driving cars for 10+ years lol
HAHAH I dealt with the same salesmen Elijah hey came back and told me “sorry we can’t come to a deal” once they realized I was trying to get a better deal
yeah bro, lol shady mo fos just a few years ago.......tried to deal with them a few times and was the BS fees were horrible, at least they were upfront on the phone so I never had to go in and waste time...too bad as I purchased a boatload of trucks last few years read the reviews as well, ...
I’ve been there in March 2024 shopping for Challenger - and spoke with this exact Elijah guy. He was nice but he is nobody there. When it comes to numbers he has no power, you talk to his extremely rude Persian boss - and yes you must buy aftermarket crap for $3,5k. I walked away after first two minutes with him.
Well here in Gatineau Quebec Canada they dont deal with negotiation, they tell you do you want it or net cause its that or the next person will buy it, next ...
Still doesn't matter. There all still over priced! And the interest is sky high. Hellcats need to be around 70 grand period not 100k. I am so thankful I got mine in 2018 for 67 grand and 1.5% interest. And a payment of $577. That's all they should be going for. Add on's mark up's enough already. Nothing they have is a good deal.
Constructive Criticism, you are Driving, Safety first for you and others, watch the road not your face on the camera, start the video AT your destination. It takes just a split second for something to happen.
So what’s the realistic additional fees one could expect . I haven’t bought a car in a while and may be soon . I also am wondering if selling it to Carmax is better than trying to trade in or just about the same.
try 5 different places and see who pays the most......bought and sold quite a few recently.....the more research and work you put in the better the outcome will be
I went to a Nissan dealership and they advertised a Nissan frontier brand new for 36,000 SV with a bunch of options. It was stickered for 43,000 went up there and they were trying to charge me as much as the sticker with all the add-ons and stuff I said, I think I’ll go to Carmax where they don’t charge all this crap.
As a car salesman I wouldn’t want to make as much money as I can off of OcMotivator. I would want to get OcMotivator the best deal possible so he would be my customer for life
PD's are switching to Ford Explorers. Bunch of widebodies still here in Vegas. Yes that's how car buying has been, but it's time has passed. Car buying should be like buying ANYTHING else. You want a new toaster, you go to Target, pay the price that's on the sticker and there's NO fees. That's how car buying should be. EVERYONE pays the same price.
They say dodges are collector items that why prices are so high, but when I was gonna trade my scatpack 392 charger for a hellcat charger jailbreak the low ball the hell of ur trade, my scat is mint no winters and low kms I was willing to give them what they were asking for there hellcat, but my deal breaker was the big low ball on my scat , I’ll just keep it
Talking about wide body..... Not a thing. Those are called fender flares. Wide body would include an actual rear quarter panel that sticks out further and wide fenders up front.
The salesman will tell you anything you want to hear. Not until you actually write the deal up , are ready to purchase and see the add ons put on it, that's where where the manager markups begin. Be very careful dealing with this particular deanship. They did not take you serious to buy anything Dodge showing up in a Lambo.
@@nickdadras553 it’s pretty easy to get. It’s not an easy career but nothing really is and at least you can make as much money as you are willing to work hard for. I started at 22 years old and did well and I’ve got young guys in my company making $200-300k+. You just gotta be willing to endure the pain on the way. 👍
