The fact that the white family feels like they can change a culture of people by going to a predominantly black school is very interesting to me but it doesn’t start at school it starts at home and with government officials doing their jobs CORRECTLY so everyone has a equal opportunity at life!!!
Seeing the lack of support from parents is very sad, the turn out of hands on deck is a reflection of how the children are suffering at home which affects them academically.
This is purpose! You couldn’t pay me enough to deal with this mess, I hate to say it but it’s A LOT of personalities, at home problems.. inner problems, attitudes, young stubborn minds. I would run! Give him more money than the CEO of Pepsi.
Hey Real Stories, can you guys just upload these in one playlist and not name each one like it’s a different documentary? It’s literally a mini-series with episodes but the way they’re uploaded makes it seem like each episode is its own story.
Hey Stephen, we have just made a playlist in response to your comment. You can now watch the full series here - ru-vid.com/group/PLKX-YBD4nIPedoutIfhg14ARuzWPLZlzI Thanks for watching!
Am Kenyan, been watching this series. In Africa some people are poor money wise but not family wise. Nothing brakes a family more than an absentee father. American father's step up for your kids man.
How sad that no one showed up to his meeting. I can’t imagine feeling like I’m doing everything I can and not getting help or seeing anything coming from it.
Sooo that girl uncle don’t want nobody to smoking weed around his niece but allows her to smoke cigarettes at the age of 16? Something that can kill you. Yea that’s crazy and weird
It's so disappointing that of 1200 parents only 6 made it to discuss the most important aspect of their children's lives. No wonder poverty and ignorance continue to prevail in these communities.
Before the Civil Rights Movement, 70% of all black fathers stayed with the family in the same house. Today that number is under 30 percent. And people wonder what's wrong with black youth today.
The Principal is very right. Parent’s really need to be involved with their child/children School. Talk with all their Teacher’s. From Elementary all the way through High School, I stayed at my son’s Schools. All the Teacher’s knew me, even Teacher’s my son didn’t have. I was a big roll model to many of the children at all my son’s Schools. I would motivate them, take the Football team all kinds of fruit, chips, candy and gatorade to each Football practice and to each game. The Football team awarded me an wonderful award at the Football Ceremony. Even though I have one child, I was like a mother to many of the children, boys and girls. When some of the parent’s couldn’t afford to buy dresses for Middle School graduation and Prom, I would buy some of the girls dresses , jewelry, shoes and makeup and do their nails for free. I’ve been an licensed nail technician for about 17 year’s. I’ve stopped many fights amongst kids. I would have the people that were about to fight, talk out their problems over dinner. Yes, I would take the children out to dinner with their parent’s permission, that was better than them fighting. A lot of the parent’s knew me or heard about me from the Teacher’s and Principal’s because I was always up at my son’s Schools and they knew how I would motivate the children and teach them that fighting isn’t always the way to handle situations. My son is grown now but I really do miss going to his Schools, especially helping children that didn’t have parent’s that cared about them or children that couldn’t go to their parent’s and talk about different thing’s but I always made a way to the children and parent’s to have a deep conversation that was well needed. I always taught the children to spread love and not hate.....NO MATTER WHAT RACE!!!🤍🤍
@@buttercupj6208 Thank you sooo much!!! I really miss the children. My son is about to be 23 year’s old in June and he’s still really close to some of his Middle School and High School friends but I do miss the other’s that I were close with. I still pray for them and hope they’re doing well. 🤍 God Bless you and your family as well and May God protect and guide your children throughout their lives and you as well. 🤍🤍
That wonderful! But most of these children have a single parent, and most likely that single parent may have a slum employer who won’t allow them to leave work to go to school functions… plus those same single parents work not one but two jobs and have other children to supervise. You sound like a stay at home mother or a dual income home. Some parents really do care but one person can’t do it all!!!!
Wow is Principal Peters really resigning? He’s definitely gone above and beyond what his duties are as a Principal and helped students and parents financially, emotionally, and physically while treating everyone with respect.
1200 students and 6 parents show up. That is so sad. I felt for him. He is trying so hard. Our school is 99% white and this show has been a real eye opener. I have enjoyed it so much. I love watching it. I really wish parents would get involved and be there for these kids. Then maybe things would change for them. Its like they are creating what they are struggling with 100%. I’m not saying it’s easy but it starts at home. The parents need to get it together. Great documentary series!!!!!
The empty auditorium man that was hard. Big respect to the principal his work during this docu series went above an beyond. Hoping he still there to continue his great efforts for the youth of that school
Support, opportunity and commitment to hard work can but doesn't always make a difference. So many people around the world are lacking in one or more of these things. Congrats to all the graduates.
I like Mckenzie's experience because that's exactly how people of color specifically black students feel in predominately white schools all over the United States and other countries as well. I and many other POC can understand exactly how she feels. I just wanted to share that because of how interesting it was for her to feel how POC feels in a predominately white school. A completely flipped perspective but exactly the same.
I saw somebody in the comments said he's an accountant but the road ain't over yet he still got to meet the final boss which is Keisha the black girl magic goddess game over
To be honestly truthful these black African American students are beyond smart and very intelligent and I pray that God truly guide them all in the right direction and put people in their path that’s going to truly and sincerely help them get through life in a healthy and safe manner.
The conversation between the white parent and her child... Whew Chile. The principal told mom right. So... No black uncles went to pay white uncle a visit?
That was a very powerful episode with race at the centerpiece for that small town. I pray that more open and honest conversations will be had to rectify the disparity issue. Most of that disparity stems from the lack of resources, and America's overall lack of will to fix race with restorative reparations to be honest. Trillions of dollars are owed to all of those families descending from slavery. Peace.
They be expelling kids too easy bruh. High schoolers fight. It’s been like that since the beginning of time, and it will be until the end. They gotta give kids second chances. I understand if the kid is a chronic problem, but most of these kids you can tell are good kids, but they are just going through it like we all are. Draconian measures don’t work..
I went to a black high school something similar happened to a Korean girl that happened to Mackenzie. Except she was troubled and ended up stabbing the black girl that was messing with her.
I received all of my education in SC. Unfortunately, most schools around here are segregated. I was the only white girl on my basketball team. It taught me more than any other experience could about different cultures and how to approach being a white person in a community that isn’t for me specifically. OU is an extremely nice school compared to other schools in the state. Myself and my peers would’ve been more successful if we had a caring faculty and principal. I hope all these kids (now adults) have had the most positive success possible in life.
In that school? Yes. I graduated from there. Do I agree with that? No, because school should be a safe zone regardless of color. Standing up is a trigger in that school because that would make you look weak if you don't and that can lead to more bullying IF her story is right. Let's say the vast is correct, then she's lucky she made it to that office because these youngstas down here will kill you with no hesitation. OW is not a joke at all.
The boy ... She had to put you out. You were sucking up their good energy and spitting in their faces. You don't recognize love when you have it. Be careful not to become a Narcissist.
@@ctrain9257 Which shows he was looking forward to a good turn out. It seemed as if he kinda counting on them the way they count on him. It was sad because we really wanted to impact them and change their perspectives.
@@nessademesiere983 yeah he’s helped them in every way he can, and wanted that reciprocation by the Parents being involved with the school. Now it looks like he’s resigning 😥
@@ctrain9257 I seen that sadly 🥺🥺. It’s nice to know what his efforts were though. He had a great message and wanted nothing but Excellence for all of them. You can truly tell he put his best foot forward.
I know I feel terrible the students/ parents think of him as an ATM/ Bank the way he hands everyone money. Ive never seen a principal hand over $300+ daily to their students to help them out & also find them places to stay when the students get kicked out of their homes. This man has a heart of gold & should be treated as such!
the parents that were not there had to work, had little ones at home and no money for a babysitter, and necessities to get done. and maybe were embarassed about themselves and their situation and just shied away. and maybe on some level think school and educators are bs. doesnt always mean they dont care.
Why u want to be yourself when it’s convenient for you to be like oh I’m the white girl at the black school I’m getting bullied if you went to school to learn and to get an education and come back home you wouldn’t even be no conflict at all you can’t blame that on a black school😒😒😒😒😒
What do you think it is? Maybe miscommunications and misunderstandings? Taking things too personally and responding with aggression? The girl did say everyone was friendly at first. I wonder what happened to change that?
I think i stopped breathing when sis was smoking the cigarette .. cause wtf but as much as she wants to make a change she’s also a part of the problem.
Deuteronomy 32:8-9 KJV When the most High divided to the nations their inheritance, when he separated the sons of Adam, he set the bounds of the people according to the number of the children of Israel. For the Lord's portion is his people; Jacob is the lot of his inheritance.
Feel for these kids my dad was in jail before I was even born and my whole life I rarely see him when I do it's a few mins before he goes where where he's going that day and he always just 'bought' he clothes or shoes to try make up for the time we don't see him
This little whyte girl playing Victim 🤣😅 is a job she knew what she was getting into when she went to the school..she wanted to be center of attention at a all blac school
I doubt she chose to go to school there. Maybe her mother didn't have any money for the private school. Most people are uncomfortable sticking out as different. It's a sort of negative attention that people tend to avoid. But yeah, she's being a baby making it about race when she was just naughty and getting into a fight like kids do.
I don't know if you already found them or not but here ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-KZDfd9ijDFI.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-YO7Kkvi8u4U.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-gQYujYS-F-w.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-z67doq_XK9U.html and then this one. After the previously is done, there is a number and then the title. The number is which episode. This one is episode 5 and it seems like they upload one every week and I think the next one might be the last one but I'm not sure about that.
@@jasmine2009beautiful No problem. I just started this series yesterday and the first episode I watched was the 3rd one with the "being white in a black high school" one. I thought it was going to be just about being white in a black high school but I was wrong. When I reached the end of the episode I notice that there was a next episode part in the video. That when I skipped to the beginning, found the episode number, and found the 2 previous episodes that I should had watched before the 3rd one then I watched the 4th one then this one came out today. They really should have a series name that is the same in the youtube titles of these videos or at least tell the number of the episode or maybe even both.
Man I'm Puerto Rican i tell my mom to "get out the gutter" I'd end in the MF. Dead. Her mom better straighten up cuz i was on the wrong path my mom kept being strict untill i finally grew up and we made an agreement from there.
I honestly do not think there is anything wrong with segregation IF this is more comfortable for all races. As long as we make sure there are jobs for all and just respect one another.
Yeah the fact that parents don’t care to go to meetings. This really is concerning. That’s the main difference in white schools and black schools. Parents of white students dig their heels in and get involved.
Why do these high schoolers studying algebra 1 and Spanish 2 level courses have tats and smoking cigarettes? What they here are these kids doing and where are their parents? Wayyyy too lax.
That's incredibly simplistic and non-representative, don't you think? Poverty is a massive, multifactorial problem that affects lots of people, not just those of African descent. Poverty drives undesirable behavior, not race.
