Visiting Hadrians Villa and Villa D'Este in Tivoli

Our first trip to Italy 24 years ago we visited Rome and Hadrian’s Villa and the Villa D’Este. Mind blowing!

I have stayed at the Beehive and stayed there as it was one of the few places that we could get a vegan breakfast in Italy back about 10 years ago when it was not as easy as it is now. I hope you got to hear the Water organ (musical fountain) play.

Too short (for me!) Hadrian’s Villa & Villa D’Este! I’m definitely try to see them both next time I’m in Rome. Also, thank you for the link for The Beehive near Termini station- so useful to know. It looks lovely and has vegetarian food 💚💚

Thanks for the amazing tour of Hadrian's complex. The video was educational and entertaining. You captured the atmosphere that this beautiful ruined complex and the weather and it's people have done for creating such an amazing tourist destination. I have done a lot of research about the Roman Empire and my understanding is that Christianity was invented by the Roman Empire to subjugate the Jews in the Middle East and to also redeem themselves to it's subjects who thought them cruel and sadistic. The Christian calendar was implemented by the Flavians. The Romans left an amazing legacy of engineering, architecture and landscaping that I do not believe has been surpassed by any other civilisation to date. The Romans built for posterity believing that they were going to rule the world and create a global utopian civilisation. But no other country is as beautiful and inspiring as Italy in my opinion. And no doubt the barbarians could not make sense of Rome's policy to conquer countries that could not match Rome's splendour anyway. Those that live by the sword die by the sword. If the Romans had not been over the top war mongers, this beautiful civilisation with all it's glorious structure, would be intact today. Truly breath taking.

I’ve seen this video before. But what a lovely rediscovery. Those fountains. “Only”an active Holly to chase after. And you trying to get Carlos more involved. I’ve enjoyed getting to know your family, and joining you on your adventures.🥰

My husband and I were there in October of 2019 and absolutely loved it! It was such an amazing experience and pictures just don't do it justice. Can't wait to go back to Italy and visit more places 😊

Thank you for sharing these wonderful moments I was fixated at Tivoli and Villa.. .. stayed just now in Montecatini terme rounding off 5 month long trip.. and visited so much beauty and was welcomed know very broken Italian .. worst May on record but still loved beloved Italy

Oooh I used to live in Monte Celio, a gorgeous village near Guidonia and would visit Tivoli often, such memories for me watching this video. I also had a couple of nights in hospital in Tivoli as a early twenty something, no one spoke English, I spoke a little Italian, that was an experience! 😂
