@@juliahelland6488 that’s awesome! Do you know if it’s old order or new order? I love their community here. The stores are so fun to shop at and make great food too!
@@cr4939 that’s awesome! I love that area. Very beautiful. There are a lot of cute little stores that are only known by the locals in that area. Very cool. I will probably do another video touring some of them.
I live in mid Michigan and we have lots of Amish neighbors all Swartzentrubers (old order) the new order stats about 6 miles south of us and there sure is a big difference but we love them all.
@@ronalddavis5905 that sounds amazing! I would love that. It’s a great place to be and know people in the community. I am fortunate enough to buy my milk direct from an Amish friends farm! So many other little stores that you only know about if you live there.
@@mistervacation23 I wish I had a good answer for that! Perhaps reach out to your county commissioner at the local level. They may have more direct resources for you!
@@ronalddavis5905 I’d love to see more Amish communities in other states. I am planning on visiting the largest Amish community in TN in Ethridge. Actually the largest Amish settlement in the southern US. 👨🏻🌾👍🏻
@@devinruhl9706 I would love to visit there sometime! I’m lucky to be so close to amish and Mennonite communities. Soon I will be visiting TN largest Amish settlement in Ethridge. Really looking forward to that!
@@livingintennessee149 fountain city Indiana that’s the town I go through where I live at in Kentucky to get to my child hood home and there’s one Amish family there they have a nice grocery store there they have their furniture out front that they make and they also make dog shelters to
So no phones except for the phone that they have. Sure ,real old world Schmellys. No electricity except for the generators. No power tools except when it is a benefit to the community or when used off site. Real old world.
@@lynnniendorf5117 every community and their ordnung have different opinions on what is acceptable and not. Amish can be very conservative like shwartzentruber where they don’t even use flashlight whereas the more progressive new order have electricity and house phones. Amish and Mennonite communities are all different. Not one size fits all. And if they don’t use public utilities they have freedom to use their last as they please without permits required etc.
@@tedm4932 I wonder about that myself. I got my tattoos years ago, and was a much different person as well. I know my current circle of Christian friends don’t ever criticize my tattoos. Amish however are pretty blunt about their thoughts. My friends are pretty straightforward. I always dress modestly when I’m around them. I think they appreciate my efforts in clothing choices and don’t notice my tattoos much! 😊
Thank you for replying 😊 I was just wondering, thought I ask. Months ago I watched a few videos inside the Amish community and the guy spent a whole day and learned much while watching. Also another video where he spent time with a modern Amish which they had electric and own cars. There is an interesting guy name Titus living in a Amish area around the Liberty, Kentucky. He looks and dress like Amish , but he's not. Very rare interesting person (Titus) of Kentucky! I am here in Johnson City, TN. Many people visit Titus and I would like to one day. What area in TN are you at ? Enjoyed your video 👌
@@tedm4932 I know exactly who you’re talking about! Peter Santanelo(maybe spelled wrong). I love all his videos! I learned a lot from them too! I’ve never been to Johnson city. I would love to have an interview like that someday. I’ll have to ask! Maybe I’ll reach out to Titus! lol 😂
That is a good idea! You can see first hand how he tames those hornets & wasps. Also he has a Amish friend who makes horse saddles . That would be a great video for you ! 😊
