นครพนมเคยถูกจัดให้เป็นอันดับ 1 ของจังหวัดที่มีดัชนีความสุขมวลรวมของประชากรสูงที่สุดในประเทศครับ เลยเป็นที่มาของประโยคที่ว่า 'สุขที่สุดที่นครพนม' สาเหตุที่ชื่อว่านครพนม เพราะอดีตก่อนที่สยามจะถูกฝรั่งเศสแบ่งดินแดนไป ประเทศลาวเคยเป็นส่วนหนึ่งของสยามหรือประเทศไทย และภูเขาฝั่งเมืองท่าแขกของลาวก็เคยเป็นส่วนหนึ่งของเมืองนครพนมครับ จึงได้ชื่อว่า นครพนม หรือเมืองแห่งขุนเขา นครพนมจังหวัดที่ผมชอบมาก ๆ สงบ อาคารสวย ๆ ธรรมชาติดี เหมาะกับการไปพักผ่อนครับ

I was stationed at Nakhon Phanom RTAFB IN 1971-73. In deference to Thai culture/custom, we were not allowed to wear shorts or sneakers when off base. We would sit on the roof of the NKP Hotel, drinking Singhai’s…watching the tracer rounds pounding the Ho Chi Minh trail in Laos just across the river…surreal. They were not good days. I’m so happy to see how the city has thrived. My photo albums show such a different place those so many years ago.

I am a (western) Theravada Buddhist from Australia. I returned yesterday, from a month long pilgrimage in the Kingdom of Thailand. We visited ‘Wat Prathat Phanom’ and made offerings of dāna there to the retinue of Monks. It was utterly overwhelming. Yes, the cremated remains of the left sternum of the Buddha, are contained in the solid gold ornament, on top of the Chedi (temple stupa). The interior of the stupa is hollow and contains thousands and thousands of statuettes of the Buddha, that are stacked three stories high on the inside of the structure. They represent offerings, made by an uncountable amount of Buddhists, Buddhist families and Buddhist communities the world over, who have made it to this sacred place of reverence to pay their respects. People from Laos and Theravada Buddhists the world over, flood here to do the same thing. Thailand is an amazing place filled with amazing people. Kop Kun Krap 🇹🇭♥️🌸🙏🙏🙏🌸♥️🇹🇭

I have really been enjoying your road trip videos. I’m no longer able to travel due to a terminal illness, so I’m vicariously enjoying your visits. i particularly appreciate that you are visiting the spots that aren’t overrun with tourists. It’s the real Thailand. My wife and I planned to do the same before my health got in the way. Please keep the videos coming, they are a gift for this homebound soul!

Qi Gong can maybe save your life. Drastically healed doing it! In case you’re done though and ready to go I wish to assure you heaven is real! We ALL go-good bad we go. Beyond divine, love is the foundation but we had maybe 10%years ago now maybe 1%! All encompassing mere human words are inadequate! Blessings of peace of mind🙏🏻❤️

I have been to wat phratat phanom twice ....I love the beautiful chedi. ... walking around chedi 3x is called pradaksina....both of you are lucky come at the right time.... We visited nakhon phanom when we went to thakek to visit my wife's family. We really really liked the city and stayed at a hotel by the naga statue. Hope to see some thakek/lao adventures one day!

This time i have been at every place you visited in this video. Even sat at the same table on that boat :) It is the prettiest city in Thailand i think. Last time we stayed for new year and the hotel staff took us to the boat and later to a private party for the hotel staff. It was crazy, they could party and it was so fun to stay there.

Seeing your videos in Thailand makes me miss the country even more. I truly enjoyed my time in Thailand last year, although it was short. It’s great to see how much you both enjoy your adventures there together, both good and challenging ones. 😊 Can’t wait to see more videos in the future. ☺️ I wish I could go to the tour in Chiang Mai later this year but have other plans in place. I was in Vientienne in 2012 and saw Nakhon Phanom from the opposite side must be. Now i know what it looks like. Very nice. Note's mom is cool

Vientiane is to the northwest of Nakhon Phanom so maybe you saw Nong Khai across the river. It's also a popular border crossing destination. We haven't been to Nong Khai yet!

I would have loved to join your group tour if not for the Japan trip I've already planned, and was doing research on and that's how I found the two of you! Loved your Japan videos and would sure keep the Thailand ones too so I can re-watch them when I plan my Thailand trip maybe for 2027!
