I did notice that the White Van Gogh used, must be Lead White from the cracks, Corot's painting reminds me as some what of a Tonalist approach. The Renoir I've never seen before anywhere in my books or elsewhere, amazing, I wonder if he ever saw Vermeer's view of Delft. Great stuff, thank you for the post.

That’s a cool thought, wondering what paintings they were looking at and influenced by. I’m really glad you liked this

I really enjoyed the tour of these fabulous paintings and your commentary. Thank you for sharing this. I'm fortunate in that I live in Ottawa with the National Gallery of Canada which houses many masterpieces from the great Masters, both older and more modern. It's a thrill to see many of these pieces of art up close and personal.

Loved this! I’m so glad you went because it’s one of my favorite museums in Socal. I love that Bonnard! I love the Degas there too.

Thank you so much for following along! I knew I wanted to document it because I’m always wondering what other people are thinking when they look at a painting.

Your video draws me back to our conversations we had that day in the restaurant. We had talked about the history of some artists and how the art they did was expressed through their personal lives in the very style they used to represent of the thought and the moment. Thanks for sharing Dennis, another great video to add to your archive.

Thanks Larry! We have to meet there again sometime. Can you imagine what that felt like on that beach that day when Boudin painted that? Wow!

Thank you for watching! There is so much to learn from these paintings and I was only scratching the surface. I was hoping to see the Turners too but they were on loan to Chicago. I’ll go back.

Thanks Dennis, the paintings were lovely! Why were some behind glass? I know they were oil paintings.

It’s the first time I’ve seen oils behind glass but they all were. Every one of them.

@@DennisTysonPleinAir Dennis I think its because oil paints are very sensitive to contaminates

It may preserve them for a few more generations to enjoy
