Thank you for uploading this very interesting video. Thanks for all the details, like the items sold at the souvenir shop and so on. It is really great.
I gotta say, I was originally with the many who hated this new "freedom tower" design, but I'm pretty impressed with what they managed to build in these 14 years. Best of all, this building was built so tough it could probably withstand a nuclear bomb.
well, the old world trade centers were built in roughly 4 years... and the complex in about 8 or so, not counting building 7, that would be like 15 years or even more
I can't wait to go to N.Y.C. one of these days and visit the world trade center,I'm glad that they have bought back the complex,I like that the building looks similar to the north tower and then at the same time has a contemporary futuristic look at the same time so I wish this new complex the best...
Just imagine if that floor was a giant Starbucks instead and you could go up there for free chill drink you coffee do your school work and enjoy the view now that's a idea
The views are stunning, People must have the thought in the back of their mind, that for a lot of people this was their last ever view, especially when the camera is peering over the edge.
shellsbignumber2 That's what i was thinking too. That was the last view people saw before they jumped rather than face the fire. I''m not sure if i'd go to the observatory. Not sure if they should have put one in the new tower at all.
Jeffrey Roberts All the people who died that day would of wanted them to have an observatory in the new tower and would of wanted the USA to remain a free country, The terrorists would just love it if they didn't rebuild the site or didn't have an observatory in the tower for stupid reasons like that. Go check it out...You will like it!
Jon Rogers Building 2 is a horrendously stacking tower of seven blocks. Building 3 looks pretty good so far. I was at the WTC on the 16th (Yesterday), and was actually supposed to go to the One World Observatory. Unfortunately, there was _Zero_ visibility. Instead, we went to the museum at the _Transportation Hub_.
Tyler Stitcher But thse buildings are taller than the normal floor count-height estimate. The Empire State Building has smaller floors, and actually has 102 floors.
Watching something about 9/11, and the thing that always strikes me is how nothing can be done for all those people waving from the windows, or phoning the emergency services while trapped near the top. The buildings didn't have any plans about what to do for the people near the top if there was any fire below.
Over priced, used as a marketing tool to sell NYC to visitors to the city. As a New Yorker who had a family member in the 7 building on 9/11 and personally effected by the horror of that terrifying day I found this commercial overdrama offensive and disrespectful.
With the greatest respect, I believe the elevator ride was a means to display the history of New York. It's an eye opener when you see it. But I do have to agree with you on the commercial end of it... the gift shop is over priced ($40 for a 1-foot resin model of the building!!!), but the tickets are so so. If it was cheaper it would feel much more like a tribute, but I believe the makers didn't want the building just to feel like a memorial. The memorial is right next to it, though, and is really beautiful. And the glass panes of Building One always seem to catch the sun in a brilliant manner.
If i hade this Project to build new towers I hade made the exact thesame twin Towers but then stronger and higher. Now you have 1 Tower and a big hole where the other towers is ??????????? Weird You can make a inside the new 2 towers something for the death of 2001 disater. I love this new tower, but it is not that good for replace the Twin tower so sad
Moni Poppaea Di Maria I sort of agree, sort of disagree. I would NOT want to build a replica of the old World Trade Center. It would be too eery as it would resonate the happenings of 9/11/01... which would not really reflect well with many Americans. The new World Trade Center (One World Trade) takes on a new architectural design, and the use of 8 triangles (four right-side up, four inverted) gives the impression, at ground level, that the building is extending far into the sky: static1.squarespace.com/static/5164b16ae4b0cac6e79b081f/t/556bd873e4b0edfe51887131/1433131124575/2015_05_29+One+World+Observatory+02.jpg?format=750w It's a real sight! Also, if you aren't familiar with it, the "big hole" are actually two "holes" that were the holding points for the foundation of the original twin towers! It is a beautiful memorial ground if you ever get the chance to see it. I don't see the sad part. One World Trade Center is designed to by a look into the future... moving society forward symbolically (the height of the building is 1776 feet with the spire), and the use of glass panels makes really reflects the sun light beautifully. By building a new building, it shows the ability of our great nation to not be stuck in a dark time in history.
tomek1234poland No freedom? The how can we choose what we wan't to do? How can we move freely around the country, How can we own a firearm when the rest of the world won't even let you have pepper spray? How are you on the internet right now? No freedom? Move to north korea, You'll see what "No freedom" means.
All i'm going to say is..It's only a matter of time before it happens...I think you all know what i'm talking about....It's a matter of "when" not "if"..
The Top of the Rock observatory at Rockefeller Center isn't quite as high as either one, but you can get a pretty good view of both as well as some other notable buildings if you look downtown.
