You are not supposed to cross the street to get to the Arc de Triomphe, for God's sake! There's an underground entrance to give you access, like a tunnel.

The next time you go to the Arc de Triomphe, there is a tunnel under the road for pedestrians, much safer than crossing this roundabout

FYI: there IS an UNDERGROUND passage to reach the Arc de Triomphe. You are not supposed to cross the road, hence why there's no pedestrian crossing. 😉

Point zero on the Notre-Dame square is not the center of Paris!😄 It is the zero point of Paris, that is to say the kilometer point 0 of the roads leaving the capital, which is used as a reference for calculating distances with other cities in France.

About the Place de l'Etoile where is the Arc de Triomphe, you're not supposed to cross the road, there is a tunnel to cross under the road so everybody is safe without making traffic worse. You have stairs on both sides of the road so you just go down and back up to cross under the road.

How come you didn't take the tunnel?

Advice from a Frenchman: take a few days and tour "deep France", visit the south, the beaches, taste the delicacies of these regions, the wines... test the center of France with these "specialties" , discover the pre-industrial history of the North-East, the scars of the 2 great wars with Verdun or Sedan. In short, not JUST Paris. France is so much more than that and you wouldn't necessarily pay more to do this "tour de France".

The sign on the floor in front of Notre-Dame cathedral doesn't indicate the center of Paris, but the point from which all the roads in France have been graduated in order for every other town in France one can its distance from the capital (France is a very centralized country).

As others have said, you're supposed to use the underground pedestrian crossing to get to the Arc de Triomphe. Not even a Parisian would attempt to cross the street there (it's called place de l'étoile btw, étoile means star, and from above you see the whole area has a huge star painted on the street around the monument). The flame is for the "Unknown Soldier" ("Le soldat inconnu"), an unknown, unnamed soldier from world war 1 whose body is buried there). There are ceremonies there with the President on every November 11th. Also, you didn't go to the top? The view is magnificent from up there.

In addition of course to a daily technical inspection by specialists on site and engineers if necessary, to replace worn parts with new ones (for the record, it's in these changed worn parts that the small iron square engraved with "PARIS 2024" was cut and welded to the center of all the medals of the Olympic and Paralympics Games PARIS 2024, which therefore truly contain pieces of the Eiffel Tower!) the entire Tower, including the stairs, is checked every evening after closing time. In addition, to prevent rust, it has been completely repainted every 7 years since 1889 by house painters who are not afraid of heights! ^^ Oh and at 19:30 they are French Hamburgers so no problem. ^^

Regarding ND, the restauration is quite well under way, with a reopening forecast on Dec. 2024. Not only people from all over the world donated money, from "small" to "huge" amounts, but numerous workers from all countries decided to help "with their hands", whether those people are carpenters, stone cutters, welders, etc. It is a huge recomfort for all Parisian and French people, as I am, and I think that we should clearly build a memorial somewhere (in the cathedral garden ?) so the memory of the donators and workers always accompagnies the building. Concerning the center of Paris at the cathedral "esplanade", if I am correct, the point marked is not exactly the center of Paris, but the origin of all distances measured in France, i.e. when you say that Lyon is 485 km away from Paris, it means that the value is measured from the location you were looking at in front of ND. Aside, I agree with the other comments, you should not have crossed the place de l'étoile. Though drivers in Paris are clearly not as rude as depicted, you may have suffered serious injuries. Hope you had a great time over here !

(celle ci est juste mon opinion d´apres mon experience personnelle)

When you visited the Eiffel Tower, it was empty. That's because of the Olympics ! :D A lot of people rushed out of Paris at that time, fearing the craziness of the olympics. Those people did regret it after cause the atmosphere was really cool.

Great videos , safety tip , on a night get the seat belts feed them through handles and then buckle them in , so even if ur doors were unlocked they can’t open your doors as the seat belts are holding ur doors closed hope this helps 🙏

Please come again, a day is really too short, there's so much to see. The nail in front of Notre Dame is actually point zero of all the roads in France. But it's not the geographical centre of Paris, nor of France.

Oh My God It’s Coming It’s Coming 39 Days To Go Until The 2024 Olympic Games!

Honestly if you can find a cheap AirB&B and if you can have your own foldable bikes instead of renting the city's (they're expensive, more than they used to), stay much longer, because just the Louvre Museum is at least 2 full days, very likely closer to a week, to see everything that's in there, the Mona Lisa being the least interesting thing in the museum. There are many other museums. Honestly if you can spare the money (not making videos in museums is probably an issue for you guys), it is very much worth it.

Nice tour but why the same touristy stuff? Why not visit the oldest bookstore in the Latin Quarter or the Saturday street flea market? I found an 1890 Paris newspaper there and framed it when I got back home. Beautiful and easy to transport. Family heirloom for 50 cents!

I am amazed that no Parisians honked at you while you were crossing. I thought they would make an example of you and bully you. Thousands of people visit that monument every day. Imagine if they all crossed the roundaboud randomly. You should have stopped for a minute and wondered how all those people got in the middle, while no one seems to be crossing the road, and why there could possibly be no system in place. You passed the tunnel entrance at 1:35.
