Located in the heart of the Texas Hill Country Pedernales Falls State Park is truly a unique and special Texas State Park. Located on the banks of the Pedernales River this great Texas State Park was built to provide access to a very unique geologic feature, the falls, that can only be found in the Texas Hill country.
The only downside to this Texas State Park is the fact that the river is in a pretty deep canyon and there is no handicap access, ya gotta hike it baby! Pedernales Falls State Park offers many miles of hiking trails and of course swimming in a beautifully cool spring fed hill country river

Any signs saying I can’t let my dog in river? Id like to take the kids and our lab for a swim

I did not see any signs say that dog and kids could not swim in the swim area. There are plenty of signs saying no swimming around the falls though. I saw several dogs on the trail down to the swim area. Thanks for watching!

Nice park!! I saw TP&W was killing cedar’s close to rivers to aid in them taking water from the rivers. Maybe that’s what they are doing there.

I did not ask anyone but it kinda looked to me like they were taking out the dead trees. perhaps from drought or insects killed them.

Take the "R" from it's place before the "N", now place it before the "D". You can now pronounce it like the people of central Texas.

Hey dude we just arrived at Pedernales Falls state park yesterday - this campground is awesome ! Big sites - first place we’ve been to on this road trip that we didn’t have to pick up garbage - big campsites and the facility’s are top shelf - just had the hottest shower I’ve ever had at any campground - in the states or back home ( Ontario ) and washrooms are spotless - wildlife is here if you look for it and the trails ( 1 long hike so far ) are challenging- checked out bird blinds - pretty cool - wife’s goin in morning for pics when they feed them and I’m gonna try some fishin - Beauty spot 🖖

Thanks for answering- we left Texas yesterday heading back to Canada - met a Texas couple in Waco that asked if I’ve heard of you - it blew the guy away when I said I’ve u tubed your site lol If we ever come down here again we will be trying to stay at as many state parks as possible - the other places weve stayed just didn’t measure up but ohhh well - lessons learned. 🖖🍻
