I have been to Taj Mahal and when you first get the first glimpse through the gate, it feels like the Taj is on a different plane of existence and we're just seeing a mirrored image in our world. it genuinely feels unreal, as if its not supposed to exist in material world. Just ethereal.

ancient India used to have lot of excellent architectures better than this one. during Islamic rule in India especially in Mughal period about 47000 temples and several other structures were destroyed. others were demolished by the European rulers. that's why India hardly has any ancient structures left in North India. however there are quite a lot of them in South India especially states of Karnataka and Tamilnadu.

This is considered the Wonder of the world!! Why should it matter if it is Muslim? It is in India. I hate this HATE in India!!! This Hate has only come about in the last 15 years!! Ever since the BJP came to power! This inferior complex needs to stop. And this religious fanatism has to stop too!! Get over it! Other countries don't behave like this! The people that worked on building the Taj Mahal were all Indian!! People need to Stop living in the past!! Move forward! Stop the fanatical HATE!!

@@Dan-xx5jq India is the most religiously tolerant country in the world. 47000 temples was destroyed, other temples were converted into mosques, over 100 million people was killed during Muslim rule these are the facts not hatred. and yes ancient India has much greater structure than this if this is wonder of the world then their way beyond. it was given wonder of the world to show Indians are primitive uncivilized people and everything is built by foreign rulers.

What’s poetic is the aftermath of building Taj. While Taj is considered an artistic masterpiece with its use of geometry and accurate symmetry, the story is heartbreaking. After the Taj is built, Shahjahan was house arrested by his own son who wasn’t pleased with the way the king was splurging money from the empire treasure for building mosques and mausoleums. When Shahjahan died in the royal fort, his daughters secretly moved his body from the fort to Taj Mahal beside Mumtaz’s grave . Little did they realise that by placing him next to her , Shahjahan, himself broke the symmetry of Taj . His grave is the only object which is not symmetrical in the whole Taj

until 1857 taj mahal used to be studded with diamonds and precious stones before those were looted in British rule. top spire of taj mahal used to be all gold, it got looted and replaced with a brass one. indian style fruit and flower gardens were cut and british lawns were grown.

Taj Mahal is overrated. for best of Indian architecture please visit some of these- Kailasa temple at Ellora caves in Sambhaji Nagar Brihadeeswara temple in Thanjavur Chennakeshava Temple, Belur Jain Temple in Ranakpur The Hampi Temple Complex In Karnataka Hoysaleshwara Temple in Halebeedu, Karnataka Shravanabelagola Jain Temple In Karnataka Meenakshi temple madurai Khajuraho Group Of Monuments In Madhya Pradesh Sun Temple in Konark

I see a lot of hate for this beautiful building because of Hindutva! This all came about with the BJP. Dividing the people. Shame! This was built by Indians. India's diversity is what makes it incredible! Westerners will tell you that they get tired of seeing all the temples in India. It would be boring if it is only temples in India.
