Dinner on Vistara was free and I didn't have to pay anything extra for it. They served some Achari Chicken, Rice, Rajma, Bun & Butter, Strawberry Almond Cake with Vanilla Sauce & some Lemon Tea!
Airlines keep their food not too spicy or tangy on purpose. They don't want people to have an emergency because the toilets are only two, unlike trains where you can just go to some other compartment.
While flying, the altitudes are quite high. Most of the planes fly at an altitude of between 33, 000 to 42,000 feet. At this height, our brain cells react differently when it comes to taste buds and thus the food tastes bland or bad.
I’ve only gotten 2 chances to fly vistara. I thoroughly enjoyed the food. One time it was a chicken sandwich and one time it was a vegetarian meal.. both so good!
dont ask me i cried while eating a desert from vistara once, i was on my periods, travelling alone for the first time and low battery in my phone but that was the only best thing happening that day😭
Travelled Vistara last week from MUM to DEL. Good experience. They provided bun + butter + coffee + chole + alu paratha for free to everyone. I had taken the economy class ticket. Note: I'm frequent traveller and Vistara was the best experience I had.
I have travelled in air many times but 2 weeks ago, I had a flight in Vistara and my God their food is really good! Wasn't like any other airline. Would like to travel in it again😊
I asked chole kulche to the flight attendant and she laughed 😅 she told me sir we don't have chole kulche here but I suggest you that meal is super tasty 😋

man you were lucky af... when i took a vistara flight they gave me the most stale chicken puff along with a below average pasta. The dessert was mousse cake which was good tho..
I took the same flight as I remember crew members but from Delhi to Bangalore & Vistara's Food is better compared to AI. Apart from food they have a facility to watch movies, listen to songs or virtual games. They even provide a wired earphone to watch all that, it's of cheapest quality but does it work well.
That in-flight video is so aesthetically shot showing beautiful places of India and yoga is linked with Indian tradition. Ofcourse you can't practice yoga on flight, but certain stretches you can do to lessen the pain after sitting for a long duration. It was also done to get your attention because most people don't pay attention to safety instructions. I hope you knew the intent already. Give credit where it's due instead of making fun of it.
The reason achari chicken did not have achari kick, because that kick could have landed you in the toilet forever 😅😅. Airlines do not want the passengers to have an upset stomach at 38000 feet. The same reason is for Rajma being bland. 😅
There was one time I was traveling in spice jet and there was an ad on every seat saying flight mode off game mode on😅 Like what, you want me to crash a flight😂
I really wanna say this everytime i flew with vistara man thr food omg ... I used to think flight foods are yucky 😢but Vistara changed my vision ... its yummmmm❤❤Thanks vistara
Vistara is good. I hope the new Air India merger with Vistara doesn’t ruin it. My experience with the new Air India Express A.K.A Air Asia India was pathetic. Dunno how things are on the new Air India flights.
Champagne in the flight from bangalore to Delhi? You have expensive taste. Champagne is for celebration. Economy class, Free food and expecting Champagne!!!
I think Vistara is a strong Hit or Miss. i once traveled and had a Veg Sandwich along with some Orange Juice, and chocolate cookie. It was a decent meal, the sandwich was quite good (vegetables were fresh.) On the other hand, once while travelling, I got served what i would call a White Person’s first attempt at Indian Food: Veg “Biryani” with Jaljeera and Coconut Cookie. The Biryani was basically steamed Rice with a Masalas and fried onions, with some chholle (yes boiled chickpeas) inside. It tasted like Prison Food. The Jaljeera was like those Pre Packaged Beverages with an expiry date of many months later. It was in a Small Vistara Bottle, so idk if it was made in house or purchased from a Bulk Caterer. Nevertheless it tasted like Bath Water mixed with Sewage. It might sound like an overkill, since many White Foreigners have the same perception about jaljeera and shikanji. But it just tasted off. My soul died a little after i took the first sip. I don’t like wasting food, but i just couldn’t put more of it inside my body for the life of me. On the bright side, the coconut coolie was great. I am not the biggest Fan of Coconut Confectionery, but it was just done right. It was by a separate brand, and i wish i had remembered it or taken a picture of the packaging. That Biryani was just manageable, the jaljeera was absolute trash. Ig you can look forward to having a nice coolie or two for dessert. I think at least with Vistara, the food quality depends on where you’re landing. The sandwich i got was supposed to be a Bombay Sandwich. But thankfully it had no Boiled Potato. I got it served while my destination was Mumbai. The Biryani I got was when i was travelling to Delhi. Ig they wanted to combine the Biryani part with Chholle Bhature or something. They served Jaljeera instead of Lassi, probably because some people are lactose intolerant. I just hope it was supposed to be Jaljeera, and not an attempt at the Bunta Soda. Cause then i would be mad. A friend of mine traveled to Delhi too in Vistara, and he told me he had a Paneer Tikka toll on his way to Delhi. He insisted that it was pretty good, living up to the Roll standards of Delhi. He had Gulab Jamun for dessert (which he told me was downright delicious). So ig it is a matter of chance too. I think Vistara would be better off.
Trust me bro. If you have that same food at ground level, the "bland" food becomes much more tastier. at 20-30,000 feet, the cabin becomes dry and less humid. Food and other items lose their humidity too. That, combined with the height, we lose our sense of taste as well. reduced, anyway. That's why regular food tastes bland on a flight. (Look it up)
What do you do after you are done eating I mean all the packaging and food tray do you just awkwardly sit there and wait for the air hostess or need to dispose it yourself
