This video came at the perfect time. I finally got the Vita3k emulator running on my RP4pro with persona 4 golden and was wondering what other Vita games can the system run. Great video!
I knew your voice sounded familar!Always look forward to the switch reviews. Glad to see you have another channel to explore. Just set up my RP4 last week and it really is an emulation beast. It has retired my Odin pro because of the better pocketability.
Gravity Rush also runs great at 2x resolution, then some indies I've been playing on it are Forma 8 (had a few crashes early on during loading but seems fine after that), Deadbolt is another. Some others that're worth keeping an eye on for future updates: Sly Cooper trilogy all run super smooth but when you finish the first level and it hits the loading screen it hangs unfortunately. Same for Bastion, really smooth, but a few levels in and a loading screen crashes it. So hopefully whatever is causing them to hang on loading screens can get fixed because otherwise they run great. Great thing about the above games too is that it runs them on performance (quiet) 2x resolution, and the Sly Cooper games look much cleaner than the PS2 versions as well.
Oh wow, found this searching for retroid 4 pro vids, thought you sounded familiar! Automatic sub from me, one of the few RU-vidrs I trust for unbiased and genuine Switch vids, glad to see you doing emu devices too as I'm never sure if things are REALLY running OK on these things, if this is like your Switch channel then I'm in safe hands 👍
Hey I know it's been a few months. Did you ever figure out if you can point Vita3K to your SD card for the game installations? I edited the config file and changed the pref value to storage/0000-0000/my/game/folder/ and Vita3K won't even launch now.
Found the video as I have a RP4 Pro and was just browsing through YT for videos on the console where I found this. Then I recognised the voice. I take it this is a personal side project from SwitchUp. Nice video, good luck with the channel, an easy subscribe for me. Your going to need a new outro to top the "seeyaaa"
im guessing if it can run borderlands 2. it can basically run everything once compatibility is worked out. i just hope they focus on LBP killzone and wipeout
Borderlands 2 for the win. One annoying part is I can’t figure out how to swap mapping for the bumpers to the triggers. Hate using the clicky bumpers on the RP4 Pro and vita3k
Hey man, great video. Thanks for the hard work 👍 maybe dumb question, are the Vita roms NoNpDrm? I may or may not be hypothetically using the ROMs megathread and do not know what file types to download. There's the first link (Content) and the 4th link (NoNpDrm) or the 7th link (VPK). Sorry, I'm such a beginner at this stuff
Hmmmmm hypothetically I'm not entirely sure what you're referring to with those as they're not file types. Might be a case of trial and error or check out the forums.
Thanks for your review! I got things running on my RP4P too, but I don't understand how to sprint with this controls setup. And in order to throw the granades I need to use touch controls. What did I do wrong?
Anyone got a good lists of game to download, like PS VITA,PSP, Switch and older like "Contra" or "Super Mario" :)? Looking for a page with a list. Already got some PS1 and PS2 games :)
File not compatible, I know vitamin packs are not supported but neither pkg nor zips are working for me i guess I might have to decrypt them but not sure how on PC
@@MarkiTechYt that's awesome! I love the switch up channel! My switch backlog is ridiculous thanks to you 😂 as soon as I heard your voice I thought wait a minute I know this voice... I do reviews on these things to over on the retro handhelds RU-vid channel, it's always great seeing other content creators join the community.
@@AishRios Ah thank you mate, I've been tinkering with these since the Retroid Pocket 2 and maybe a little earlier and just love the process. Not really planning to make a splash in the space but having a hobby channel has already proven to be really nice. Mark
I noticed you said it's important to install from a .zip. Is there a specific reason why? I've tried installing a game from a .pkg, and it got stuck at 14% install. If there's a good reason why I'll stay away from backing up my games to .pkg files.
you dont even need the pro or even the pocket 4 i got the 3+ and all the sames are the same playable basicly anything higher performance then the retropocket 2+ maxes out where we are with emulation if the game dosnt play more power wont make it play its a compatiablity issue not lack of power issue thats why with hand helds i always go for a chip alittle weaker then a snap dragon cause u dont need alot of power it either runs or it dosnt 1000 bucks for a higher end performance wont make it play its the compatiablity thats how emulation works why do you think theres alot of switch games that still cant get emulated on the steam deck the deck has 2 maybe 3x the hardware power then the switch its now power its software limitations
For certain emulators/game power certainly isn't the limiting factor - for others being able to x2 x3 etc and have other settings the power is essential.
Only a handful of ps vita only games can be emulated, the majority of them can't be emulated by anything (like Uncharted, Killzone, Resistance, Army Corps of Hell, Unit13, LittleBig Planet, MonsterBag, Phantasy Star Nova, Ratchet and Clank Collection (remastered trilogy) etc, etc). It's a piece of junk, buy an amoled smartphone with special joysticks for emulators, it would be much better and not so much more expensive.
idk if im just lucky with my taste in games but every single vita game I've wanted to play on retroid has worked great. I've been playing Tales of hearts, Odin Sphere, Dragon's Crown, Persona etc.
@@socialreport2836 Ohh that's what you meant. I just thought the Vita versions were the best fit for retroid for all of these titles. I forgot to mention gravity rush, I know that game got rereleased on ps4 later but the vita version is pretty perfect for the retroid since it makes use of the gyro. Works like a charm too!
@@MasterDuelCentral PS Vita OLED will be better than Retroid IPS even for those titles which can be emulated. OLED is OLED, it can't be replaced by IPS. OLED smartphone will also be better than Retroid. Retroid costs too much.
