Low vitamin D level is an indicator (sign or symptom) of impaired immune system. Increasing the levels of vitamin D with supplements is like taking the batteries out of a smoke alarm. The smoke is still present but the alarm doesn't go beep anymore. When the needles on the dials are in the wrong place, there is a reason for this. Something is causing the dials to move too far one way or the other. Bending the needles to be in the right place is only creating an illusion to have fixed something. One must establish what causes vitamin D depletion and correct this.
@eugeniebreida1583
@eugeniebreida1583 4 года назад
I would love to see a couple of citations that support your 'only an indicator' suggestion/view point. For me, for one, it seems humankind has in general removed itself from normal sun exposure - clothes/winter/computers/indoors ALL the time/sunscreen/etc. We are NOT synthesizing D through our skin - this is the primary reason that we are deficient/deplete. What do you say?
@robinhood4640
@robinhood4640 4 года назад
@@eugeniebreida1583 I don't put much importance into "citations" that support my opinion/view point. One can find thousand of citations supporting the knowledge that washing one's hands before an operation doesn't save lives and is pointless, the lymphatic system is a design fault and when bits behave strangely they should be cut out and chucked in the bin, it is impossible for man to fly; the list is very long of complete nonsense being supported by many. One doesn't need support to have an opinion/view point. Choosing who one wishes to trust, is having a belief, not an opinion. Vitamin D has a very important place in the immune system's toolbox, i hope/think we agree on this. Vitamin D is a consumable. As with any consumable, there are two principal factors that determine the amount one has in stock (Vitamin D serum levels), the rate at which they are consumed and the rate at which they are replaced. When Vitamin D levels are low, this can be for two main reasons, one has increased the consumption or one has reduced the fabrications. If one has done both, then the toolbox will be empty, or very nearly, most of the time. Focusing on only one side of the balance, is not the best solution. When a factory full of machines stops working correctly, one can choose between, supplying lorry loads of nuts and bolts to replace the ever increasing number that break, or establish why the machines are breaking and correct this. Increasing the number of lorries is a way of keeping the toolboxes full, but this doesn't mean that the factory is working correctly or optimally. The need to increase the Vitamin D levels is an indicator that the balance is no longer assured. This is my opinion/view point.

Your guest doctor did not focus on the people like me who have very white skin that burns within 5-8 minutes in sunshine. I am older and my doctor found my bone disease with XRay‘s. Immediately he started me on vitamin D3.@ 50mg. But now at 84 years old, pain in my left hip became terrible so I started taking 5000mg and I saw an immediate relief in my pain. My pain doctor never even mentioned this advantage of taking more V-D3 to reduce pain! I know that the dosage will be reduced when I get my next checkup in 3-4 months because hopefully it will be less pain when it is reduced. Other medical tests are used and dosage is adjusted if they are not correct. Like the other doctor said, every one is unique in their need for certain conditions. Thank you and your guest doctors.

You are confused about amounts or measurement units. You are clearly not taking 5,000 mg of Vitamin D daily. You are maybe thinking of mcg (micrograms). Even if you meant mcg that is a huge dose (200,000 IU) that would never be used as a daily regimen. So, you must have meant 5,000 IU, which would be more reasonable.

I am sorry but her information is so wrong about how to get vitamin D from sun. 1. It depends on the season & location. 2. Check the sun angle in your location, UVB rays do not penetrate the ozone layer until their angle is (50 degree & above) above the horizon. 2. They don't penetrate if there are clouds or it is too dusty. 3. They don't penetrate glass. I am in LA & the angle starts to be appropriate for vitamin D from mid March to Mid September & generally starts in March closer to noon because the sun angle is higher. You expose your skin untill it gets red but not burn. If you want more details on this, look up (dr. Marcola) & search his post on vitamin D from the sun, it is an older post because he recognized the important role of vitamin D in the functions of the body early on.

I've been interested in this area for more then 5 decades. Had been an avid listener and reader in this area.. Many radio shows with the most educated leaders in the nutritional field . Concern over Covid 19, and listening to both doctors , I wonder if overall nutritional status, of everyone in this world is overlooked . Most blood test doctors give us determines blood levels of certain components ...Usually Potassium , Sodium and Calcium and then those other components that determine the health of our organs indirectly ..How does the other 78 microminerals or micronutrients fit it that picture . Our bodies probably a certain amount of those micronutrients to function optimally...No one that I've listened to knows what those levels are .They are trace so its small...But no number has been given because no one measures or even knows what it is .The liquid portion of our body is reflection of sea water. Our human roots are from the sea . So how do we get what we get the necessary minerals , trace and vitamins in our blood, to the degree we need them and how can they be measured? ....The soil is so depleted of minerals and vitamins and polluted and now radioactive because of whats going on from the Japanese nuclear reactor going bad and spewing out radioactivity endless in our sea water . At the same time, as we age , it also seems we don't get what we need into our blood, because the enzymes in our GI tract changes and weakens, for all of humanity on earth ..No exceptions to this . .. Could Covid 19 , flu, ,pneumonia ..etc be a factor as to why some live and die because we starving to death as we age and our bodies cannot function properly ...I heard a doctors profess that many years ago . Said , as we lose our ability to break foods down because of weakened enzymatic activity and lowered HCL acid in our stomach , it leaves us with less of all those vital nutrients we need in the quantities in our blood and system , to stay healthy ..Aging is genetically driven ...Starvation, if that's whats going on, could be treated ... Does our blood levels and our our cells are getting what it needs when we consume the same variety of foods daily ..How do we know.? .How can that be measured? . Just recently , I heard one doctors say , that many of us cannot process the Vit D whether it be taken in from sunshine or supplemental use , if we happen to have a fatty liver or kidney disease issues...Is that true? I would think if some stopped being able to utilize Vit D , because of organ malfunction, we would see a lot more die of Vitamin D deficiency but that might be a link why Vitamin D if given still didnt reverse Covid 19 , because in those people Vitamin D is not even getting into the immune cells where its needed in time or ever...

@@lydiaanderson9765 Hi Lydia .Its always nice to make new friends ...I guess you find this area very interesting Lydia...I always thought that allopathic medicine as one kind of medicine, was and is good for short term remedies....To get to the root causes of why we get sick is where the thrust of health care should be at. Sadly everything is weighed against money and therefore less focus in this area until something like Covid 19 comes along...Suddenly one's nutritional status becomes a factor...Sometimes out of a catastrophe like this we learn .Over the last 10 years I've had issues that Allopathic helped ...No question...Pharmaceutical use when nutritionals fail makes sense....I managed to get many of the prophylactics that so many doctors of all types share with us.. ....Facemask wearing in risky areas is a must....When I take my 3 mile walk in South Florida I let it hang down... Being outside with few around carry almost no risk... Otherwise I have my Sonovia mask on...People who fight facemasks are pretty dumb ..You dont need to be a rocket scientist...Look at NYC , Thailand, Vietnam,African countries...The common thread and first line is facemake wearing and keeping your body well nourished....Do a google search for Dr. Mitchell from Texas and use the keyword Dr. Fitt and Covidc19...Ex doctor Roby Michhell was the first person that spoke about Ivermectim 7 months ago....He lost his lic to practice but I think watching his RU-vid presentation had great insights in the pandemic .as an antiviral drug.....Everyone made a laughing stock in the 70s where Robert Atkins said it was carbs not cholesterol or saturated fats that created the problem in our system....He was right ...Small particle LDL and high triglyceride level all driven by high carb diets appear to be the reason for arteriel damage not fat....Ex Dr. MitchHe's really into nutritionals shields and as usual when you buck the established system are out to get you....People overlook enzymes and probiotics so said Dr. Pressman who had a radio show years ago ...He professed Ten years ago, that in order to to get the most out of probiotics, you must take enzymes with it...I heard another doctor or researcher say we lose a percentage of our enzymes and stomach HCL as we age ...So are we literally are starving to death as we age?..I heard that only once but it stuck..Can people avoid disease by simply taking probiotics and enzymes daily? To me , if you look at the older groups why do some in the 80's and 90's look great and some in their 50'S look really old ...Forming wrinkles in there 40s even...Im almost 70 and are wrinkle free...Excercise daily..I can do more stuff in the gym then 20 year olds...In any case we must thank Drbeen for all that he shares ...Ex .Dr. Roby Mitchell off the beaten but we think alike. What was schocking to me was drbeens Vit D levels...I've been taking Vitd at 5000 IUs for 15 years..Now I take 10,000 daily and take it sublingually once or twice a week...I've learned lots more about Vit D now ...I take the life extension powder mix every other day.....Trace minerals ...82 every other day and a full array of vitamins and nutraceuticals like Quercetin, Egcg and , Milk thistle...I managed to get some of what we've heard from Drbeen guests....There is no guarantee all this will help but the good news I guess is that I'm still alive ....Facemasks and in home testing will go a long way in defeating this Lydia.

There are people in India who would like to be tested for their Vitamin D levels, but many are afraid to venture out to doctors and medical facilities due to the high rate of spread of the virus. In my city and district of two million people, the new Covid daily cases reached 464 yesterday. There is also a growing shortage of medical personnel and facilities. @ANGslave
@ANGslave 4 года назад
She repeatedly said 7am - 10am for reasons known only to her. In order to gain the ‘VitD’ hormone skin must be exposed to UV-B light approximately at solar noon (around 11:00am - 1:00pm local time or just go look at the position if the sun & length/shortness of shadows). Skin types Fitzpatrick 1 & 2 need 10-15 mins exposure; type 3 30 mins; type 4 about 90mins and type 5 needs the majority of daylight hours to make adequate VitD hormone. As the skin tans the rate of production also drops so type 2,3 & 4 need to increase exposure if they gain color. Fitzpatrick type 1 does not tan. Fitzpatrick type 5 maintains their full pigment regardless of UV exposure. They also require many hours to gain ‘vit d’ via the sun. That given all folks get much more mileage from UV-B exposure to meet their ‘vit d’ needs if they stay to a diet that restricts carbohydrate to 40g/day maximum and eliminate plant oils/fats. Carb & plant oil create insulin resistance and obesity especially in BAME populations.
