Hello again I've looked and found the track you're talking about ("Ancodia" from "808 State"). And indeed, it has that one sentence "What I Got Is What You Need..." in it. But, like I thought, the sample of the sentence is being used in both records. This happens quite a lot. Apart from that, it's clear that both songs have nothing in comming - except for one sentence that is. Kind regards Fonza
OK, OK. I WAS WRONG!!!! Have just found it. I remember now. At first, I thought it was Ancodia by 808 State, then my friend Stu, said it was Vitamino. For years I always thought it was Vitamino and had forgotten about the Ancodia title. Anyway, if you don't know it, youtube search for "Ancodia 808 State" and hopefully, you'll see where I was coming from!! Best regards.
En dan kom je dit tegen.... Schijf die je al de helft van je leven nie meer gehoord hebt. Mijn dag kan niet meer stuk! Wat een zalige tijd was het toen, feesten van vrijdag tot dinsdagmorgen.
I have never heard this track until just then and had always known the track I was on about as being by Vitamino. Furthermore, it was my friend, Stu, who bought it on vinyl in 1989 as we were still at college then. It was from his record that I recorded it. I'll have to upload my version of it, when I can. I'd defiantely put a pint on it!!
@@TRIO510 Ooh, you got me there. I'll 'fess up to that. Now, very strangely, just driving back from the shops less than an hour ago, I was listening to this on CD (how old school): - *Thelma Houston - You Used To Hold Me So Tight* ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-CPcXh0UnZbQ.html which is the song that was sampled in the track that has taken me over 12 years to uploads (to be honest, I could well get one of those copyright strikes for it but I don't know why some do and some don't). Also sampled: - *Unique - What I Got Is What You Need* ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-P6uWy9Y-4PE.html* and the song that I didn't upload, [ at 1min16, you'll hear "What I've Got", hence the confusion ] - *808 State - Ancodia* ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-LpsmPuS6re8.html Sorry for any distress caused over these 12 years.
@@TRIO510 Only the other week, I eventually went through a stack of cassettes that I have with '80s & 90s recording on them. Most of the tracks are on RU-vid but 2 aren't and Shazam doesn't find them either. Furthermore, there's some great radio adverts on there as well, for things like "brand new G-reg Metros !"
This isn't the original version. I have a version of this track from about 1989 on a That's VX90 cassette, which is very different. It uses the sample from Thelma Houston of "You used to, used to hold, used hold me, used to hold me so tight". Then - "What I've got is what you need" followed by an electronic sample (from a Speak 'N Spell or something) which says: "L - O - V - E Love" With the sam
I'm not sure that this is the original track. I believe it is. What you are saying is impossible. This track was first brought in the year 1992, like the tag says. So it's impossible that there's a version of this track that came out in 1989. There's probably an other track that uses samples like the ones used in this track. This happens all the time. The track where they lyrics come from is called "What I Got Is What You Need - Unique"(1983). You can find it here, just copy/paste and search
