Those axles look awesome and seem to plant those tires well. Need me a second job so I can get me a set plus all the brass as well.thanks for another good video
Way cool. I'm also noticing the orange cord, for what I assume is dynamic recovery. And here I thought I invented the technique of looping it back through the chassis like that. 😁👍
Great vid about the metal axles. I've got a set for my Cappra from Treal, not assembled yet. You're right, there beautiful and very heavy. We'll see pretty quick. Thanks again, keep it up.
LOL. We used to do that with hockey cards when I was a kid. Me, I used a Bobby Orr rookie card. Yeah, that clicking has got to go. Best of luck sourcing it down.
@@michaelarriola7296 I'm not sure if you know by now, but Vanquish now has both front and rear housings in clear and black for the 10.3. Front housing will need a pair of c-hubs, and the rear housing has its own cover
Obviously Optimus is your most capable crawler, but this is becoming my favorite. Maybe it's because I've seen it the most? It really is nice seeing it come along like it has. With all the extra weight you've added, I'm starting to think it is a good thing the stock tires were as stiff as they were to handle all that weight under stress. This is really looking amazing with the brass and chrome!
I just drooped my 10iii and I ain't gunna lie it made a huge difference. That 1st obstacle you showed? Mine would be able.to climb it with a slight bump of throttle. I got the 2 stage proline foams soft outer hard center with 1.9 deepwoods amazingly well. I put all rc4wd electronics in it with a 35t motor with the dig active. I do dig those axles though!!!!! I'm jealous because your rig is amazingly gorgeous.
I agree with your taste in chassis bling. Most of the upgrades(and money) on my TRX-4 Sport has been for metallic jewelry for the portals and such. But between the cost and the aesthetics of those Vitavon housings and portals, I'd have to turn my rock-garden into a dirt trail so as to never come close to marring those beautiful axles. Even then I'd need to fashion protective skid plates for both assemblies before I dare drive it.
Lol. 👍👍👍👍. TY JOE. yeah. Those helped that truck all around. It needed that weight. Or it works well with that truck rather. Even with the tyres But damn. That extra load made that click come back like it was before you tweeked it . Lol. And again ty.
Im hearing ya about the hubs hanging out on the inside ... what blows me out is ... people put a HUGE hex nut extension on ... and all you see is the portal box hanging down in the middle of no where ready to catch any rock that the portals where made to miss in the first place! LoL! The only thing the portals are good for with a huge extension like peeps have is for hanging up on stuff! Love ya trucks as always mate ... you equip them with some "To nice to scratch" CNC parts! So tell me ... does it make you cringe the first time those vitavons drag across a rock? Lol! Your better then I am ... if i could afford that stuff, mine would be a shelf queen! HaHa!
I havent watched your future videos but the clicking is known for a backwards gear in the gear box. Harley Designs mentions how to fix it in his overview of what to change on the scx10.3
I’d like to see you swap out servos. I just ran the triple 7 on 3s and it kept making me crash. The steering is so much faster than I am use to and it changes direction much quicker. Glad I ended up getting it. I ran the trax-ass 330oz blue servo and it would stall easily especially after being on the rocks for a few obstacles. So I got a savox 2230sg and really questioned whether the triple 7 would make a difference. I’m running it stair to my jst lead off the esc and it’ll push obstacles around. Got it to stall once on a curb but I think that was more of its protection mode because it wasn’t warm and it’s slid the truck away from obstacles. Finally a servo that can work on the hefty trx6.
I've done everything I can think of man, gears and all, the issue is the input gears at the transmission are loose on the shaft and they shift under load, basically poor tolerances.
Sc10iii’s click and not able to make it over some spots annoys me though for how much they are. I still prefer your gen8 or the trx sport runs you do on that same track.
I really enjoy your videos, very informative. I am in the process of building my scx 10 iii. I like how you are adding low weight while keeping light wheels. Would love to see alternatives for the spektrum micro servos. Also, have you tried the stiffer springs in the back instead of the front? Wondering how it will affect steep climbs.
Hey boss! Quick question hopefully you can answer!! I got the KYX Portal axles for the scx10.3 but I still have the regular scx10 rails would that mount that you explained to us fit on the old scx10 rails? Also does the trx-4 have the same system that you are explaining to us but on the shock towers instead? Because Im just trying to put on this axle on my scx10 properly! And I have the trx4 mounts that I can just drill the extra hole onto and put them on my rails but am a bit confused on what will work well for the KYX portals that have the same design, thanks in advance!
do you know if you can use a engine sound box on this jeep? i had the scx 2 and took my sound box out of that and tried to put it in my new scx10 3 jeep and it doesnt seem to have a spot on the reciever for it to work, this sure does take away 50% of the fun, dont understand why this company wouldnt havr thought about this, its crazy.
Where can we buy the the Vitavon complete portal brass knuckles/hubs and covers ("compleat outers" )or better yet just the knuckles/hubs (I have the Vitavon weighted covers), all I find is the F9 ones, they are different. Can't find what you have anywhere.
@@ExocagedRC I see the links, I have most of it in my cart except the knuckles, very much want to complete the whole upgrade. Why are those limited, seems like they would be just what many want, are looking for, and would sell well. Thanks for reply.
That chrysler click is soooooo common in the real world, maybe its part of the design? Not really but its remarkable that jeeps usually go ticky ticky and the rc one does now too!
hello, my Panhard rod mount on the plastic axle flew off, I want to buy the same Vitavon axles, are they structurally well made? I don't want to throw money down the drain.
Just listening to the scx10iii run now sounds like a mini jackhammer. After watching more and more videos about scx10iii doesn't make me not want buy one. Way too loud, no matter how good it looks
I have 2 bodies that is poly plastic with hard plastic pieces I kinda of fan of that style but why not just put hard bodies back on the rc like the old days. I find if you use the body that hard plastic parts. They bind and bend after while they crack the body Is not so good now. Just my option
Yeah done that, didn’t help. I have a video on it showing how sloppy the gears are on the shafts. Poor tolerances and maybe mine is worse than others I don’t know.
@@ExocagedRC Thank you, looked around for the Vitavon knuckles but can't find them. Trying not to buy the whole axle for now. Pretty sure the newer Supershafty knuckle will also work with the Vitavon portal weight.
You cant clear "this" obstacle and you cant clear" this" obstacle again.Does it worth? i dont think so.The SCX lll cant make us happy and we sell it to buy a set of TRX4 Axles to build a nother truggy.
Please help me I have a brand new scx11 never been opend I'm afraid I cant build it I would love to trade for trx4 kit I dont want to mess it up please trade me so I dont mess up a 400$rig please I'll payshipu g
Are you still buying parts from China with the health scare happening. There are a lot of people who want this brand of parts but are hesitant at the moment I’m sure. Vitavon parts are super nice. That clicking sound what is that coming from. It’s bad.
