@@coolbaldi9394A random guy on the internet commented a "fact" and me asking to confirm that "fact" by prensenting any links that support the comment. Wheres the hopeless part in that?
I always loved the "what the hells a jeep" line. During ww2 jeeps hadnt been released to the civilian market. Another reason mafia 2 holds a high place in my mental list of games
That, and Jeep was actually a nickname for the Willys MB the army used, and the nickname was based on Eugene the Jeep from Popeye, sine the soldiers were impressed with the car's durability.
yes, but they messed up the cars, music and clothing style in 1951. Everything looked and sounded like 1959. But I know why they did it. Vito would be too old to be in business after 15 years in prison, and they wanted to give us the 40s and 50s spirit. That's why I love this game!
Idk. I feel like it's been pretty widely regarded as one of the best games ever made. The only reason people don't discuss it as much is because it's...old really. Which is a shame because this game really holds up.
@thequestion8697 another unfortunate thing is this game had even more potential but 2k made the devs rush the game. There's alot of cut content for mafia 2
11:06 I know that this supposed to be a funny moment, but knowing that Joe could live up to the dream that he always wanted but set it aside for Vito speaks how loyal of a friend he is. And using the 5 bucks excuse to put up a strong front lol
@jamescario2292 It's a gangster drama what'd you expect? There are no happy endings or closure as much as we want the best ending for our favourite characters they've got to keep it real.
Yeah I mean when I look back all I remember is painful times in the game such as Henry and marty.and when you decide to help Leo but goddamn. So many jokes and funny moments ! That painting line is great
@@vengeance1450 fr and then the remake came out and made a mediocore version of the story and removed things from the original and slapped the mafia 3 engine on it reskin the game to kinda look like mafia 1 and boom. you got a 60 dollar game not worth the price. my imagination playing the original mafia 1 and pretending to have good graphics is 60 dollars worth more than what the remake brought to the table.
@@Bruh_SA not even. Like I said they had a good theme I was actually interested on what they decided to do with the 60s because that was a really cool time in America. But it was the execution that ruined the game. Just like how the execution for the mafia 1 remake ruined the game. The remake doesnt have Lucas bertone side missions and they dont even have Tommy's ending monologue witch was the most inspiring speech to ever end a game with."you know the world does not run by laws written on paper, its run by people, some according to laws, others not, it depends on how their world would be how he makes it, and you also need a lot of luck,so somebody else doesn't make your life hell, it isnt as simple as they tell you in grade school, but it is good to have strong values and to mainten them,in crime in marraige and in war always and everywhere, I messed up, so did paulie and Sam, we wanted a better life, but in the end we were a lot worse off than most other people, you know I think its important to keep a balance in things, yeah balance that's the right word because the guy that wants too much risk losing absolutely everything, of course the guy that wants too little from life might not get anything at all." So it's not the theme it's the writing. Mafia 3 doesnt have good writing. It's pretty simple. Just like how the remake didnt have a good writing. They changed the script for crying out loud they didnt need to change the story at all. Mafia 1's original story did not need to be touched. It was perfect just how it is. I havent got to play all of mafia 3, I played all of mafia 1 the original one and the remake and I played all of mafia 2. But I can tell from mafia 3's beginning and after you start to do a few missions all of the mechanics are gone that were in the first 2. So to answer your question no it doesnt even have to do with the protagonist being black. It's about the protagonist being interesting and likeable. And Lincoln is not interesting or likeable. And I can't blame him too much look at the material hes given it's not much to work with. So mafia 3's problem is the writing
Henry: How about you joe, how long has it been? Joe: easter. Henry: Ah, that ain't too bad. Joe: 1941. Henry: i take that back then, you're going straight to hell.
Fun fact: the original mafia and mafia 2 were both made in Czech republic, and the voice actor for Joe in Czech dub, is also the voice actor of Homer Simpson in Czech dub. And yes, its really funny to hear homer swearing and yelling that his sister shoots better then us
@@fckthemedia1649 would've been 10x funnier if he did tbh but hey it's still less racist then in the south of 1968 mafia iii I don't think this insult counts as racism
Joe : you weren't kiddin' they really taught to drive there Vito : (: 5 seconds later : ^CRASH^ - Vito : Shit sorry ): Joe : ----HEY I TOLD YOU THIS AIN'T NO TANK!!!!!!!!!----
@@Liam-mu5cx I feel like they would have been better if they didn't have that stupid timer on the missions, it just makes you rush through it without paying attention to the story.
I usually hang up before Vito even says hello. The image of him picking up the phone, and just grunting into it before hanging up still makes me laugh 10 years later
This brought me memories,it also reminded me of the song "let the good times roll". I can see it took you a lot of time to edit all of this and it's very well done too.
henry: wHaT tHe HeLL?! vito: hey henry 😀 henry: vito?! leo: is this your friend? ... vito: no. he just want to hang up his jacket. LOLLLL this scene gets me EVERYTIME😂✋
@@tkh846 I was sleeping at my girlfriend's parents house one evening. (She lived with her parents at the time) And her old man opened the door, talking about how the back door was open and dogs are going in and out. In my sleep I randomly said " I'll give you something that goes in and out ". I only found out about it in the morning :D
i had a glitch happen once when i played the original where joe continually said, "nice alright now lets just sneak through here" all the way till i got the cut scene. it was hilarious
just finished replaying mafia 2, damn i wish it was longer.. and shouldve continue Vito's story on the 3rd one tbh.. haven't played mafia 3 tho.. i might give it a shot
Mafia 2 would be the perfect crime comedy movie. I love the relationship that Joe and Vito have, they talk and make jabs at one another in a way that's only seen with lifelong friends and siblings. This may be cringe as hell, but Vito and Joe are truly the definition of friendship goals. If you've played Mafia 2, can I just ask did anyone else get a bit triggered at the end cause of Joe? (Don't want to spoil it for those who haven't played it yet)
The entire mission after is just filled with massacring the entire area, which is great fun if you have a Tommy gun and some other weaponry from Harry’s
