I am an Indian From my school days 6th standard 1982 till today 17/11/2021 I am fan of Viv. When i see him i get confidence on me. I am lucky in my play of cricket i got his name by people because i used to imitate same.
I thought he was the best ever! He stood out in an incredible team, especially when you have these outstanding Australian players giving him such high praise.
Best ever, in a county game once Viv played and missed 5 balls in a row, the bowler told him it's red, weighs 5 ounces and is round. The last ball Viv hit it out of the ground, he told the bowler you know what it looks like go and find it. BRILLIANT.
Sir Vivian Richards is a feerless cricketer without a helmet facing world class bowler like Dennis Lillee just shows how great legend he is. He is a nightmare for the bowlers. ✌️👍👏
We were so lucky to have Viv, Joel & Botham at Somerset when they were at their best. I remember watching Viv destroy Bob Willis at Clarence Park, Weston Super Mare. Me and my mate had said that we would have a ping every time he hit a 6, not been that drunk at a cricket match, he scored over 200 runs that day.
Yeah especially if you consider the boundaries of those era. They were almost 85-90 yards. He used to not wear any helmets and the bats were thin unlike today. Imagine if he played today with flat pitch, small ground and heavier bats. It would've been raining runs.
He can't compare with anybody in world cricket, tremendous batsman ever produced by windies, great great man, magic man I really love to see his batting in you tube, a brave man without using helmet,
You can see the utmost respect he has from his opponents... and as an old Aussie supporter, he always had mine. I loved those days of Greenidge, Haynes, Richards, Lloyd. Salute.
Viv Richards was always a treat to watch , he always dominated the bowling of any kind and class , he ought to be there in any all time World Xl be it Test , One Day or for that matter T20 he is a certainty , he was the nightmare of bowlers
He wa a star. A superstar. He had unique presence. That was the last great cricketing era. Look at the bowlers he faced. Lillee, Thommo? The fastest and most menacing ever and Viv faced them without a helmet and went after them.
Viv was the greatest. Not a slow accumulator of runs but a real physical presence and intimidating sight! Added to that the pace battery. Enough to make any opponent shit their pants!
bigger grounds faster bowlers unlimited short deliveries no fielding restrictions worse protective gear no modern-day equipment no white ball cricket least flat, junk wickets limited medical & rehab facilities limited use of technology application in training no DRS facility to review bad decisions lesser financial incentives unpredictable officials and boards least advertisements, media support but...sheer bravado and self-belief... on his day, Sir Viv was crazy as a tornado ! cricket is a professionalized media addiction now!
My favourite back in the day was every time he would grin at the incoming bowler, especially the quicks. They'd get sick of it, try too hard to get him out, and end up leaking boundaries.
My favorite batsman was saeed anwar. AND saeed anwar's favorite batsman was sir viv richards. I never saw his batting becouse he was retired before my birth. BUT when i listened most of records sir viv Richard then i became a fan of this amazing man
@Gowri Shankar U.V That's the pity. People always glorify the past compared to the present. If today bowlers are not as successful that is mainly because pitches are belter, batsmen have more protection & many rules are now fav the batsmen. Also too many matches are tiring the bowlers.
Bob Willis said of him that his speed of the eye was twice as quick as anybody else's that he had seen... Viv Richards was good enough to play in any era. Place Viv Richards in this current era, 2020, he would still blast bowlers out of the ground.... He was simply good enough to do so...
Goldberg of cricket real power and strength with gifted ability to pick the length early and always willing to dominate the bowlers love to play in difficult situation and playing conditions
Yo cant compare him to Viv,With these Days there is nothing for bowlers,Even umesh yadav can play those innnings. Viv is greatest ever player hard to digest for many but these guy was way ahead of his generation those shots,That swagger,Oh viv Man. Greatest batsman ever,Godfather of Odi cricket,Issac vivian aleaxnader Richards Greatest ever,Please dont compare him to that money hungry Son of A Bitch,He looks only good in corrupt ipl.
I don't think anyone would be willing to bowl to him. Too life threatening for bowlers and fielders. Would be cricket's first players' strike any time due to play him.
@@aieeeful yeah very true pathetic era of cricket too much luxuries too much for the batsmans grounds are short too many rules for the bowlers and many protections for the batsman i think 90s was the best for cricket equal for both batsman and bowler and 70s and 80s was too hard for a batsman and easy for the bowlers opposite of today's era there the grounds were bigger bats were not that strong no rule for bowlers no protection for the batsmans so i think 90s is the best for cricket
Especially when you consider the new boundary laws. So with modern bats,it's safe to say add 20 to 25 percent of his test runs on top. Which theoretically not only takes him past ten thousand runs, but also makes his average close to 62 or 63. So he's right up there with Barry Richards and Graeme Pollock amongst others such as Lara,Tendulkar and Sobers. A great batsman to watch, throughout his career. 🤣👍🍺
Richards was a monster. I love the fact that today every batsman comes to the crease wearing combat protection and Richards killed it wearing only his pads and gloves! Today's players are soft.
When he was late for a county cricket, and one or two batsmen had returned out to the pavilion. And Richards was not yet there in his dressing room. That's when a chopper flies into the field and hovers atop the batting crease. And out comes Richards and proceeds straight to take guard. You got that video. Please upload.
Imagine Great Great & The only Great Sir Viv in today's era of power play, free hit,.sucked, malnutritioned bowlers n batsman friendly pitches his record 🤔🤔😵😱
He is the dinosaur.. no doubt about it .. not wearing helmet ..long bowdaries...no feilding rules....no .. modern bats.. still he is outstanding... but I saw him in 1987 odi series vs India he confused to play spinners like Maninder Singh shatri .. Hirwani
People must understand...Viv most of the time batted once ....W.I most of the time posted very big first innings score...when they had to chase Greenige an Haynes would bring the game home...if Viv was playing in a Lara or Sachin era his average an test runs would surpass these two greats....he would destroy any attack ...
I believe lara Sehwag gilchrist and Hayden was having a bit of sir viv but compare to that time without protection no one can imagine yes but 90s bowling of other than west indies was improved a lot but still he was a sole entartainer in his era.
