I'm very late to this, but the BBC World Service broadcasts globally on Short Wave, same as Voice of America (and until relatively recently Radio Canada International), most developed nations offered (or still do) a global radio service in dreadful SW quality.

@@musmodtos thank you very much for your response. I knew that existed and it was possible but my question was how. Because it wasn't as easy as the internet makes it out to be. Radio lengths still had to be transmitted through radio transmitters but I wondered how that was possible for some radio stations to carry all over the world without having antennas and transmitters in every country of the world. Definitely not in the ex communist countries.

@@TheMediaDirectory It's Short Wave so it has very good signal propagation. It's a very deep and complex topic but don't think of it like FM, short wave can quite literally bounce all over the planet. The quality is horrendous and its affected by time of day, weather, sun activity and a host of factors but SW in very broad terms travels very, very far. The BBC World Service also has various local programming and transmitters but I think you can get it in just about every spot on the planet. I'm sure Voice of America is the same. There are still lots of international SW stations.

Synthusiast who could forget the betamax? Its the first vcr which allows us to record our favorite programs. Not to mention that i enjoyed watching porn tapes too that time.
