To me, the first movement of this concerto is something exceptional. That first theme..so audacious and bold... that chord of the second bar; a simple suspension, but so effective and 'modern' sounding... It knocks me off my feet every time I hear it.
Thanks.
I know it's difficult with Vivaldi, but are there any musicologists reading this who can tell me the best educated guess for the year of composition for this work? It's only my hobby, but my hobby is my passion. I was thinking c.1730??
