Well, they got it all, right? Super-skilled singers like Damrau and DiDonato next to horrible singers like Genaux and Villazón. How many surgeries did Villazón have? 6? I lost track already. And Genaux is probably a fine artist, but her technique is one of the worst. The tension in jaw, tongue and lips is almost unbearable. What must DiDonato and Damrau be thinking? Nonsense. What Genaux brings is the edginess that works well in castrati roles which is why she does Farinellis repertoire well. I like the variety of voices.
