Duuude I had this same feel for Vivaldi when it came on shuffle during a jam, did some searching on RU-vid only to discover a huge lack of classical drum covers and thinking what a shame for that void. Been playing with some others (Beethoven’s moonlight Sonata third movement also good for covering) So glad this came up!

For anyone interested, here are some classical pieces that already require a drumset: - Schnittke Requiem - Credo - Schnittke Faust Cantata - The Death of Faust - Gulda Concerto for Cello and Wind Orchestra - Kapustin Piano Concertos 2, 3, 4 and 6 (2 is best followed by 4) - Ellington Harlem - Zappa The Yellow Shark (debatable if it's classical or just experimental polystylism) Most of these pieces are hybrids between classical and jazz (rock in the Schnittke). They are still technically classic music and are enjoyable, but perhaps not in the same way these fantastic videos are!

I'd like to hear this incorporated with a live orchestra. It would revolutionize classical music and the concert halls would be filled with young audiences, thereby insuring the survival of classical music and orchestras and introduce the beauty & possibilities of classical music to young people. Also add more contemporary classical (for lack of a better word) music to programs. In Sydney, Australia, in the mid 60's the Sydney symphony hired a black American conductor (whose name I've forgotten). On Tues. nights he had all the seat removed from the auditorium, told people to bring blankets and pillows and the orchestra performed 20th Cent. music, including Australian composers whose works were rarely heard. The concerts sold out every week. Alas, the powers that be didn't want innovation and wondered why they'd hired a black American. I think he lasted 2 seasons, then everything went back to normal and they lost the audience they'd gained. Stupidity has no limit.
