Wildly entertaining and original. Elegant, graceful, and passionate. Who knew we could dance to Vivaldi? And such dancers! Such musicianship! Brilliantly performed all the way around. Vivaldi is the greatest undiscovered genius of his age, having written hundreds of extraordinary works that rarely, if ever, are played, except on RU-vid. Molte grazie!

"Who knew we could dance to Vivaldi?" -- Chuckling here, partly because our family definitely danced to the 4 Seasons, but also your comment strikes me as amusing because it seems likely to me that the soloist here added a kind of passionate Gypsy/Roma flair to the music that Vivaldi's staid compositions usually don't imply, to my way of thinking. But i don't play any of these instruments, so maybe this is how it was written?

@proud Dutchman. The Venetians traded with the Arabs and if you notice in the piece (around 3:50) it has a very Middle Eastern character.

@@stassi7 that’s intentional of Alessandro Tampieri (the player) who wrote the cadenza for this concerto, other performances don’t have that.

Bravo Mr. Tampieri! Kudos to all! I keep coming back to this piece and the performance. It's pure genius all the way around. This particular viola d'amore is sublime, full, and perfect. The cadenza is thrilling. The whole production deserves an award.
