Great help ... after a bit of shopping around I decided to replace the bottom and centre rollers with the support arms attached to save me messing about taking out pins. Put it all back together and like you the door shut as good as it did from new. Now being an expert on doors I decided to remove the runner and repaint it just as you did. So, I took off the new roller from the door, took off the light and end cap and removed the rail. rubbed it down and gave it three coats of satin black paint, looks like new. Easy I thought! .... Put it all back together and the door wouldn't shut. spend the next two hours in and out of the van not having a clue why it wouldn't close, but it's all done and working fine. So, thanks for the video, great help ...
Thanks 😁. A job well done by the sounds of it 👌. These sorts of things always take longer than we think but you got it done, and probably saved a ton of money than having a garage do it. Good work 👌. Cheers Larcs 👍
Great video Larcs. It’s helped me change my middle roller. If anyone doesn’t fancy changing the rollers as in the kit, a brand new genuine replacement arm, all in with the rollers is £59 from Vauxhall. Not a bad price I thought.
Absolutely spot-on just done exactly the same but I’m having a problem with just as it shutting it doesn’t wanna shut properly so I might have to dude just adjust the back one what you’d actually put in and maybe even checking to see if the rollers are worn away because I did put a new roller section on it the black one what you painted I put a new one on but I’ll have to put it on the last one not at the back where you’ve got free not connecting up I’ve only got two because mine is a short wheelbase Thank you it was very interesting to watch you do it but not having a workshop to be able to knock the pins out for me after just buy a new one for the middle runner that you’ve done if that makes sense but a good video thank you for the enlightenment
Well done. I expect your video tutorials will only grow and grow as there are simply sooo many T.V.P drivers out there looking for video how to's. I watched your gearbox oil change video which I had spent weeks looking for previously to no avail but you simplfied matters, thanks. Keep up the good work and please keep uploading how to's no matter how small or large.
Just priced a new rail for my Vivaro from the Vauxhall Superstore. £174. I will be giving mine a coat of paint. no grease on any of the rails, gathers grit and turns the rollers into grinding wheels. looks good though.
Great video. I’m looking to repaint my door rail as well. Now that it has been a few years since your video, how has the paint held up? Is it beginning to flake or crack again? Did you find afterwards that it did need more grease or has it been fine without adding anymore?
@@oasnap Thanks 👍. The paint has stood up pretty well, it's worn away where the roller runs but I've just kept a little bit of grease on it and it's been fine.
Hello was wondering if you could help me the inner drive shave boot kit for the passager side I can't seem to get 1 for my renault trafic 2009 any ideas cheers chris
I did a video on replacing mine here:- ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-q6YPO0dTyKw.html I ended up buying mine from the Vauxhall dealership. Cheers Larcs 👍
Is it possible to close the sliding door once the middle rail and rollers are off? Was thinking of taking it to powder coat, but this means 3 days without the rail at least... and I have no garage... Thank you!
Thanks 👍, just lots of little jobs so far. It's funny that I would probably not have bought one like this but it was cheap and off a friend. It's doing ok so far 🤞. It's done about 155k. Cheers Larcs
also,my logic is when you buy a van a few years newer most of the parts in the suspension etc are just as worn, buy a rust free tidy older van cheap and spend the money on overhauling the running gear ! you'd be amazed the difference when the suspension etc is all replaced.
I have a similar problem with our van. With the roller rail, and rollers removed do you think it would be possible to fully close the door and make the van secure in order to have the rail powder coated?
If you grease it up, that will attract all sorts of road dirt that will stick. If there is grit, small stones etc sticking in there, they will get dragged along in the grease with the rollers, wearing them down, so that you can repeat this video in approx 3 to 4 years again. So, that is my take on the story.., me being a highly trained Unprofessional, so get that verified first !!.
