Cheaper consumer version aimed at wireless PC VR usage when? I've already seen a video where the Focus 3 was used to wirelessly play PC VR games and it looked great. Vive Pro (2) and such have the disadvantage of requiring expensive base stations and the wireless adapter reduces the resolution and framerate (better wireless adapter when?). This Focus 3 would be great as a premium wireless PC VR kit if you look at the Quest 2 as a cheap entry with many disadvantages, I'm quite unhappy with my Quest 2 and don't care much about standalone usage because graphics are just so far behind PC VR and always will be. 800 to 1000 $ would be a good price, the cheaper the more will buy it of course. You could easily get a huge chunk of the PC VR market by being the first good wireless kit.
@@bwittle7052 Kinda. Sure a consumer Focus 3 focused on wireless (or wired) PC VR could be called Pro 2. Maybe they want to focus more on standalone with the Focus line similar to how Facebook kinda abandoned PC VR.
But they didn’t the end htc is too stupid to even think about that so just buy a htc vive two also I don’t get you logic as you can play pcvr games wireless on the quest 2
It's the same price or cheaper than the old vives then they came out so i bet alot of people can afford this one if they could afford the old vives because alot of people have the old vives
Hello HTC, I burned the LCD screen after some sunlight exposure. The headset (Focus 3) is out of warranty. Are there official spare parts or a place to go to in Spain? Regards,
No, you can't hot-swap the battery. If you are the VR facilitator, LED indicators on the battery itself will give you warning that the battery needs a swap (you shouldn't be caught by surprise).
LOL did you even watch the video? Those controller batteries are pretty well integrated. Meanwhile, the headset battery is super custom. Good luck having a working product in 10 years without extra wiring and custom soldering to an external battery pack.
Scare tactic: "we have precise machines to measure how much a screw is screwed in" Guess what HTC... YOU CAN STILL OPEN THE PRODUCT! You are literally admitting that you go against the magnuson moss warranty act.
LoL it's a video about a "Business Headset" or whatever they call it but everyone here commenting (including me) is interested in video games. That should show the big VR companies how much demand there is from all of us for VR gaming.
They're trying to push into creating another industry. Perhaps it's a sign that everyone who wants a gaming headset, already has one. Speculation, of course but who knows.
Now make one with built-in eye and face tracking along with wireless PCVR support. If it had all of those things, I'd consider paying $1000 for it, as long as it works with my existing external base stations so I can use full-body tracking.
Don't worry, your online waifu will still pretend to love you without being able to see your eyes moving in VRChat. Eye tracking isn't needed for anything important until tracked foveated rendering is real thing for consumers. Right now it still just a demo at best.
@@michaeldeford1335 well you kiddos can have fun in the disgusting cesspool known as Vrchat. I'll continue working on my mocap software, which is why I would enjoy a headset similar to the one I've described above.
@@michaeldeford1335 Shen said it in his Twitter post “SteamVR support multiple drivers, so if you have the time to align the 2 tracking systems, sure “ So Focus 3 works with base station confirmed. twitter.com/shen/status/1408076243849781250?s=20
loving my vive pro 2,sure the only problem is glare but i got used to it doesnt even bother me anymore 90% of scenes there is no glare but on some its a little annoying still the invisible sde and great colors and fov makes up for it all in all good headset a little expensive but for me it was worth it.
