Vivid Sydney - Photo Heaven or Photo Hell? 

Very well said. Went to the Brian Eno curated Vivid festival back in I think 2009. This was the first one and the musical selection was excellent. There was Eno, and numerous of his collaborative coterie like Jon Hopkins, Jon Hassel and Laaraji. All these were great music events and the light and creativity shows were very good but viewed as an added bonus. This was by far the best Vivid festival I attended. Went the next year again which was curated by Lou Reed and this was also good but not as good as the first one. The lights, the crowds and the domestication from then after became more and more dominant. Don't think I went past 2012 as it became to me a very heavily commercialized event with the music there as a sideshow rather than any kind of main event. Hence the crowds that were drawn were not into music but all the dazzling lights, commercialism and to be one of the crowd. Could have got some good shots back in 2009 but by 2012 it had all become a super crowded event that was a lot more generalized and family orientated. No joy whatsoever in trying to capture creatively designed shots due to the largely family and domestic based crowds it ended up attracting.

I some how miss this every year and its sounds like a good thing, always find myself there in July. Just a question, was the color shift in your video intentional? Looks like WB.
