The only annoying detail about your videos is that they do not appear as the 1st search result after writing only the model and brand of the phone... Noone is doing such detailed and honest reviews as you do. I am only buying phones after your opinion and I was never disappointed, because thanks to you I knew what am I getting. Thank you so much for this year, I hope you get bigger in the next one!
Thank you. yes it seems YT has something against my videos and often removes them from search. No idea why but it is what it is. And thank you for your support!
It's because RU-vid algorithm goal is to keep users on youtube so they can serve more ads and the way to do it is to show us videos that keep us hooked and wanting for more and very detailed videos like this one is the opposite, his video is so detailed that we no longer need to watch another video because our curiosity is already satisfied.
Just to confirm, vivo regularly pushes updates to their global X80 Pro. Monthly security patches + it got Android 13 way back in October. My boyfriend's Y21s (an entry level phone from them) gets security patches every two months, and he got the December patch a couple of days ago!
Okay that's good to know I didn't see many with the X80 Pro I had for a while before returning it to them. And in the Chinese models have been terrible for updates.
@@Techtablets i have the global one but had the Chinese x70 pro plus before that arround 8 months and had 4 updates, but honestly if phone runs fine dont need many updates
I do admire that the manufacturers are pushing the envelope, but at the same time I also feel that we have platoed with tech. I am still daily driving the Note 20 Ultra, and there is nothing that newer phones do that mine can't. It is becoming increasingly more difficult to get excited about new tech. All in all, great video.
after using a p40 pro for 3 years (being a long 10 year samsung fan) i can say i'm never going back to samsung. Only when i think how bad face recognition is and the fact they can't even make the smart stay work properly it makes me lose any interest. Not to mention removing useful feature like IR blaster and others. Feels like samsung just recycles the same phone year after year. Since huawei is done without kirin and google, i feel that vivo is the right choice for me so i just ordered it.
For the cameras, but also display and especially performance that is definitely not true. A Note 20 Ultra camera looks like a children's toy compared to the X90 Pro+. Also the screens got clearly better and also more power efficient at the same time, same for the chipset. You might not care about that depending on your usage of the phone, but gaming performance is significantly better on the X90 Pro+ and other current flagship phones. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 with the massive cooling system in the X90 Pro+ means that an Android phone for the first time beats Apple in graphic performance and overall system performance and that by a clear margin. Also the Samsung Note 20 Ultra but also the newest Samsung flagships are years behind at charging speed. But Vivo and Xiaomi and the other chinese brands did make severe improvements in that category in the last years going up to 120 W charging which is a game changer. So I think there were and are still some big improvements in the last years, but it depends on your use case if you will see and feel them!
@@flo_h_96 if you care that much for photography, there are cheap dslr out there that outperforms any smartphone. Having nice photography in a phone it's really cool but It doesn't worth it to upgrade from last year phone. After all, how frequently a person uses the smartphone camera for real photography? Most people use it to take a quick snap or scan documents or take a video of something or even a selfie. Most cameras from flagship or quasi flagship can do that very well already.
i just ordered one from your link, i hope is worth it, moving from a p40 pro after being with samsung for 10 years and given that samsung just became boring releasing the same stuff every year and how bad it works compared with huawei, i hope vivo x90 pro+ is what i'm looking for. I would have bought the last huawei without any thoughts if they still had kirin and google but vivo seems the best next thing to me .
Every thing is top notch... But if vivo give a 4 year of software update and 5 years of security patch update like samsung and many other brads already did then it'll be just amazing
Great review as always. It's exactly the same price as the Xiaomi 12s ultra in China for the same storage variants. Think it's a no brainer to get it over the Xiaomi 12s ultra when they are the same price. The camera optimisation seems significantly better and the zeiss mode is great
man I love my x90 pro+. the imx989 + 50mm + 90mm portrait lenses are a killer street photography setup. drop the exposure a touch n it produces some seriously beautiful shots. low noise, beautiful depth of field & natural, unprocessed grain.
@@TechtabletsRespected sir /mam... I m from india and I want to purchase vivo x-90 pro plus from China along with one of my friend out there... Should I go for it?? Will it support Indian 4g/5g bands? All Google Play android services? Or any thing else which can't be accessed over here in India in x-90 pro plus? Will it come with international warranty? If any software issues can I check the service center in India ??? Can I have all android updates whenever released??? Iwll it be unlocked for Indian 5g bands ????Plz guide me fully so that I can buy this x-90 pro plus from Vivo China 🙏🙏🙏
I ordered the red version of the phone It's look really nice It's the strongest phone in 2022 Everything is top notch I like playing games so with the 8900mm² wide-area vapor chamber in this phone gaming gonna be so smooth also I own the aero active cooler 6 This cooler gonna make the gaming experience even more perfect
The phone is all I hoped it would be, great review ☺️ I am using the Vivo x60 pro plus and the software updates on the global variant have been very consistent, nearly like a pixel I owned previously. So fingers crossed for the global version of this phone!
Hadn't been in a physical electronics store for quite a while now, so I was suprised to see a Vivo corner (like Apple/Samsung/Huawei) at my local Mediamarkt. Hopefully they'll carry the new X90 Pro+ as well! Finally a worthy upgrade for my old trusty Huawei P30 Pro that's deserving of retirement after active duty.
Cracked the screen on my brilliant P30 Pro and replaced it with an iPhone 14 Pro. I'm not that impressed to be honest, although Face ID is fantastic. For a bit more advanced photography the iPhone just doesn't cut it, way too much in-camera processing and sharpening. Really miss my P30 Pro; I think Huawei hit a sweet spot with it, in almost every way. Might buy the X90 Pro+ as well.
the audio processing really sucks when you start zooming during filming. Very noticeable that it does not have the power do deal with both processes effectively
Looks good, I really like that divider line at the back, good to see them going 1inch sensor for camera but the quality doesn't feel all there. I feel it's something missing, maybe their color science?
I had been following your channel since 2017 and both all my phones and colleagues' phones at work and family members based on your channel reviews, started from the OnePlus 3, Xiaomi Mi Max 2, Mi Max 3, Huawei Mate 20X etc, with your help brother, carry on your depth, honest confident reviews, your channel deserves over 5 millions subs, it will happen brother.
Looking forward to watching your camera comparison of the top three phones that you named! Not expecting one particular winner, just a variety of scenes and different approaches. Thanks 👍
thank you for the detailed review, esp the part where you showed the camera app features. ive always wanted to see where the Super RAW feature is, thought they got rid of it
Great to see you include the wildlife extreme stress test results in your reviews - something that not a lot of other reviewers share. Just subscribed 👍
If I can afford it, I would definitely buy the Vivo X90 Pro+!! I have confidence in Vivo's image processing and the quality of their cameras. Just a bit too expensive I find. Thanks for your honest review as always mate 😃
Does it have reverse wireless charging and how fast is it? because it's the main candidate for my next phone if it ever get a global release. Xiaomi 13 pro being my second candidate because it's not as good as the x90 pro+, but it's almost guaranteed to get a global version. Really hope vivo will release them globally.
That front facing camera actually looks immaculate at 1080 30fps/60fps. A 4K front facing camera might be the least necessary camera setting, imo. Dope phone, dope review, but the global version will be better running FunTouch OS, tho.
as negative point you wrote that don't have video out on usb C. Well indeed it has but only through display port . so you just need to buy a display port to usb C adapter and you can be able to clone the image of your phone to a monitor right away .
I hope when you show the different camera toggles and features that you're also actually shooting an image rather than just the phone lying flat on the table
Glad the battery life is starting to be amazing again, hopefully the global release comes soon. As the camera HDR looks fantastic. Will have to see how it shapes up against the S23 ultra
On one of the spec websites it said that there is video out via USB-C but I don't know if that's really correct. Would be a big disadvantage on a otherwise more or less perfect phone
Somebody named fipps answered to somebody else's post and mine, saying it works. He is apparently using a adapter that only does C to HDMI no other things. Techtablets tried all his Adapters and none worked. So I guess you gotta get really lucky finding the right one.
Doesn't look like the USA will be getting this phone. and no release dates for Germany. (we are Americans living in Germany) I am in the market for new phones for my husband and son. I have the OnePlus Nord and Love it. This Vivo caught my attn. Even if I were to get my hands on this phone, would a repair shop be able to work on it? get parts for it? should I would ever need anything fixed? ... Do you have any videos about what phones you recommend for 2023? or even for 2022?
Hi I don’t see it getting an global release as we have Joe the global X90 Pro model. As for parts it shouldn’t ever need to be repaired only the battery maybe after 4-5 years.
Does it support Google Pay (wallet) and/or Android Auto? Which are typically not implemented well within the skinned version of android? Also are HDR/netflix/hbo/etc fully or partially supported? (Edit: Just to be clear, I know safety net is supported, however in reality, Chinese phones tend to have incompatibilities sometimes because play services are installed as an afterthought)
I am dying for a global release of this device. I'm almost to the point where I'm about to just get the chinese model, but I'm holding out just a bit longer
This is the review I was hoping for! I'm very nearly sold. My only remaining questions would be: is the aperture adjustable at all in pro mode? What is the slowest shutter speed available? Is there a dedicated Astro mode? I do wonder how the x90 Pro Plus would stack up in the area of still/video options and performance against the Mate 50 Pro, the Xiaomi 12S Ultra and 13 Pro, and the Samsung S23 Ultra when it is released.
Hopefully there is a global release of this Vivo! Kudos to Vivo for overall a Solid Flagship👏. Impressive indeed! Thank you for the comprehensive review as always. 👍 Happy Holidays Sir Chris to you and your family. 🌲🎊🎉And Have a Merry Christmas! 🙏🤍
does ltpo work in dark theme? To find out, you need to turn on the setting in developer mode - show the screen frequency. judging by the video, you checked the ltpo on a white theme and everything really works there. But I'm sure that this function does not work at all on a dark theme, as well as on vivo x80pro
I don't know Americans and some other western countries keep wondering why these devices don't come to their markets like they didn't see what happened to Huawei...if u shake apple in the us yo done.

Anyone's knows if in the China ROM, all Google apps are fully functional? Especially Google pay? Had some problems in the past with china roms, but I'm very interested on this phone
Hi TechTablets, the Redmagic 8 Pro and the 8 Pro + had just been released in China just 2 hours ago. After seeing a teardown of the 8 Pro in Chinese, I hope you would review it too. Eagerly waiting for it, but take it easy and Merry late Christmas/happy holiday.
Honestly when you were filming, while I fully agree the specs of the front camera should do more, but the footage taken looked really good in my opinion. Yes they should definitely do better in the Audio codec department and in the resolutions for all cameras (front especially).
No variable screen frame rate? I mean the 1hz-120hz thing. Seems like its either 60 or 120hz even in "dynamic mode" (maybe also 30hz). Its a shame given that its and ltpo4 panel
Hi! About the charging thing, I wonder how manufacturers are calculating charge time? They are doing it from 0 to 100 %, or they are doing it from like 5% to 100%? Maybe from this is where the difference comes you know.
Great review techtablets. Quick question - have you heard anything in the pipeline about the successor to the Realme GT2 Pro yet? Can't see anything online - usually go with this brand but very tempted with this phone!
Even the iPhone cannot change camera on 4k60, but this vivo seems very interesting. Just waiting for a folding vivo with the aspect ratio of the Huawei mate x2 and I buy it
Bellissimo! Impressive phone, overall. I guess they could fix the rear camera cons you mentioned via software updates... the front facing camera is maybe the same of the VIVO X70 Pro+? No, it was the S5KGD1 not the GD2. Too bad. 4K@60 would have been top! I really like the colour reproduction by Zeiss. Thank you for another perfect review, Chris! 👍 Unfortunately, an international version of the phone would cost a lot more than 1.000€ in Europe, with taxes, sadly. Idealistically, a phone like this would be a perfect substitute for my P30 Pro, in 10 months from now, at a price below 1.000€, but I doubt it will ever decrease so much to reach at least 800€, that would be a limit I would not like to overcome, for a flagship cameraphone. And considering I paid 10 months later the P30 Pro 549€, it's a bargain I will never be able to "reproduce" anytime soon in the future 😁
Yes no global release. No real limitations really expect languages and you need to give apps permissions and auto start to get all notifications .And allow them to use the battery in settings so it doesn't kill the app.
Samsung and apple are unlikely to use a 1" sensor in 2023, unlikely to use the amazing fingerprint sensor, and unlikely to use the zeiss coating and V2 chip for amazing hdr result. If that is the case, Vivo will leave them in the dust. Samsung 10x zoom is no longer miles ahead of the competition, so that advantage won't be enough to retain the customers. Go Vivo!!!
Hi I'm fairly sure you had done a video where you've tested the throttling of the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra which was embarrassingly bad compared to other flagships (at the time). I've searched everywhere and could no longer find this video. Did you take it down?
Hi TechTablets, great review by the way. Mine is due to arrive in the UK in a couple of days. My major concern is will banking apps work? i do not care for video, i got the phone for photography and hiking navigation software. The SDG2 persuaded me to go for the vivo over the Tensor on the Pixel Pro 7.
Only problem is software optimization of vivo is not good. Even though they end up having better camera hardware the Samsungs & pixels & apples end up snatching better pictures with better optimization & software
I want to know if the samsung s22 ultra has an anti-flicker option because my eyes feel uncomfortable every time I look at the screen of my samsung note 20 phone
Probably the best smartphone so far. Great camera, great battery, great quality of life features. The real question is whether it'll be available globally. If it's the case with the Vivo X70 Pro+, it'll probably won't be. Hopefully it will be cause otherwise, the Oppo Find X6 Pro and Xiaomi 13 Pro and Ultra will dominate 2023. Until the Vivo X100 or something.
@@joelconolly5574 yep sneaky 😂 The Vivo is a monster but Samsung have enough time to improve where Vivo lacked, the jittering, audio bitrate & lack of 4k on FFC
@@Kim_Jong_Un_. plus no video out. Heck even Sony has video out. I think Oppo has but I heard it's region dependant. Huawei also have it but unsure after Google block. Only 2 major brands that have it are Samsung and iPhones. Otherwise, that feature does not exist on many Chinese smartphones.
