This is a Kerala State Port. This port was started construction in 2015 when UDF chief minister ummen chandy signed an agreement with ADANI Group. If you are asking about about investment 60% of the total investment is done by ADANI group,31% of the total is done by Kerala Government, and 9 % is invested by central government.After completion first 15 years all the profit is taken by ADANI. After 15 years they gave 1% of the profit for Kerala Government and for each year they increase 1% each and after 25 years the port should be fully handover to state government. Through this port central government gets 2500 crore profit each year.
Kerala government is so stupid not to brand name it as Port of Thiruvananthapuram.. Non-Malayalees in India and abroad are pronouncing it as Visarjanam, Viraneyeum .. oh ... horrible!! 😤😤 Pinu theetam !
Vizhinjam have the natural depth of 20 meters... That's why , it's need only one time dredging investment for Vizhinjam port... That's the great advantage of Vizhinjam compare to any other ports... May be it's depth increased to 24 meters... That means more than twenty foot draft vessels can reach Vizhinjam port in future.
