@@kevinfades didn't change anything. I see 'no signal' when I turn it on and when I press menu on remote, show no option for internet. Any help with figuring this out is VERY appreciated.

@@diannelamonica3271 You've probably figured things out by now, but if it's an older TV it's probably not a smart TV.

Maybe your tv is not a smart tv. You need cable or an antennae

Vizio TV Smart cast and watch free are the absolute worst thing I have EVER bought. And they jerked me around until I couldn't take it back to the store. They told me they would replace but first I had to put the amount of the TV on my card then once I got the TV and they got my return they would release my funds. No way in hell am I going to put out double the cost of a TV I hate and have it held in their account ( collecting interest) for a month. I'm on disability I could barely afford the piece of crap I have. And I spent more on theirs than almost the exact same setup. You know the more it costs the better... I have to unplug my TV almost every night before I can watch it and then all the programs just stop saying problem with playback on live TV? Right Sorry thanks for letting me rant

Much easier than Roku version Roku On off brand TV My current TV is 32" Vizio 720p HD on my XboxSeries S I'm able have 120hz have set it on override in settings 😀I love TV not washed out like my 32" Hisense TV

You're lucky you only spent hours. I've been weeks and I'm still not getting it to Cast. I don't have WiFi and everyone who tells us what to do keep referring to it. It refuses to find/link to my phone. It worked for months when we 1st set it up but after it Crashed I had to do a factory reset. Then It loaded some updates and now I've lost the Cast feature. I have 3 Vizio TVs and I swear I'll NEVER buy another one Again!!! They should never sell it without getting all the bugs out.

@@reneewilliams6298 well I kept trying and it still wouldn’t work. So I just factory reset the tv and started the whole process all over again and it worked. I’d say give that a try.

​@@ednaknox2654I had the same problem. You have to be on wifi to scan. If you have cable use the 3 wire a/v plug and the "comp" input if you have no internet

Click on in put and select TV. That should take you to regular analog TV.

On my remote it’s a button that say tv the it well happen

@@funnydayz I did that but I did not see a tv option. when I clicked on the icon with a tv id that i did not recognize it took me to a black screen that stayed there.

The Watchfree+ runs on WiFi so check that

I did find out it can be changed to go direct to TV. Click on input and select Settings then scroll down to “System” then scroll down to “Input at Power On” then toggle to “Last Used TV Input” there ya go

I may be wrong but I think the recent automatic update messed things up. I would disable wifi, reset the tv so it goes back to original firmware and get a cheap roku or fire stick to stream. Disabling WiFi will prevent it from auto updating

I am having the same issue with my new vizio right now and looking for a solution, did yours eventually update and work? Or did you have have do something different?

@@marcusaj9131 Yes I actually kept trying over and over to get it to work, I believe it is mostly to do with your wifi strength. It took a while but I kept backing up and redoing it if it failed and eventually it just worked. I know that's not really a solution lol but every time it failed I just backed up a step or 2 and redid it and let it try to load it again and it eventually worked. I will also let you know that after that was all taken care of, the smart TV functions were working fine (the built in Netflix, etc) but once I tried to use my switch with the hdmi nothing would show up, the screen stayed black. To fix this after trying and trying, all I did was unplug the TV for 30 seconds and plug it back in, and then it worked perfectly 👍

No wifi? then buy a cheap Antenna. Note u can also use ur hotspot on phone as wifi too .

Don't buy cheap antenna. Get a decent antenna and quad-shielded RG6 coaxial cable to reduce signal loss.

Your good you can’t get virus on the tv itself

Usually hdmi1 would be for your cable hookup and hdmi2 would be for your gaming system hdmi3 would be for an outside hookup box like Roku or Chromecast but since Vizio has Chromecast built in there's really no need for that one oh and try to buy a universal Vizio remote they have them online or in Walmart for like 9 dollars you should have a remote it will make things much easier for you my friend

Mine did that too. VIZIO support said hold input and volume up for 10 seconds. It will switch input to hdmi 1 and you can switch back to open smart cast manually.

Same... the way I fixed it was instead of setting up the wifi at the beginning skip through it all and then connect after you can go to the menu and settings.. good luck everyone

@Dionne Brown I don’t watch “channels” on mine. I’m assuming you have an antenna? I would check the zoom option. So, when you are viewing a channel that is not filling up the screen, press [PIC] button on your remote. See if that changes anything. If you get an error, try pressing [WIDE]. One of those buttons should allow you to resize the input video, effectively filling up the screen. It may also be that the resolution of the video input does not allow for the full screen video. In that case, try watching HD content. If that fills up the screen, you should then come to the conclusion that you aren’t receiving an HDTV signal for those channels, rather, an STV signal- Contact Vizio or your TV antenna manufacturer to troubleshoot further.

No you just turn to watchfree+ that is where the free channels are it's works on WiFi not cable or an app

I bought smaller screws ..

Make sure your legs are on the right side. Once you put them in, take them back out and screw them in again. You might even be want to switch screws. This will help a lot!
