I can’t believe how fortunate we were to have had such a tightly knit group of friends from this generation who are also genius musicians! I love this recording as well as the duets Perlman and Pinchas Zukerman played around this time, immortalized by Allegro Films, especially bc Zukerman played viola on a few duets...his playing is so exquisite. Then there is the “Trout” quintet (Barenboim, Perlman, Zukerman [viola], du Pre, and Zubin Mehta [bass]), as well as Fou Ts’ong. They have contributed so much!
