I found that being a parent made me a braver person. I didn’t want my fears to rub off on my children. You would never tell your daughter not to try something new just because she may not already know someone there. It takes away our silly excuses we make for ourselves.
So true! I was TERRIFIED of spiders and snakes before I had my son, and someone told me this idea and I suddenly became extra conscious of my fears when he was born.
Just FYI. Advice from a Military family who move every 3 years. Take a picture of all broken items. And keep The actual Item until you get paid for your claim. You will probably have to appeal for the amounts you want. So happy to see a blog today!!!! Love your family!!!
👍YEP! You should get reimbursed for anything that is broken. When they uncreated our glass top kitchen table, they scratched it. We took a picture and sent it to the company. They ended up sending someone out and appraising it and reimbursed us, $350 more than it was worth! Whoohoo!.😅
3:50 I needed this wake up call on pushing yourself to do new things even if you’re nervous. you’re so right. life’s too short to stop yourself from trying new things and getting out there, thank you for that :)
I'm so glad you went!! I watched one of your vlogs sometime around February where you showed a bible study book by Sarah Young and recommended it. It was right around the time my dad passed away unexpectedly. I ended up buying that book for my mom because something just told me she needed it and it would help her. She was having a very hard time, and she stopped going to church a few years ago when she moved out of state. She's told me time and time again since I bought her that Bible study book that I saved her life and brought her closer to God, and I believe her. Now she's back in church, and her relationship with God is stronger than it's been in a very long time. I just wanted to say thank you so much. You brought us both peace in such a terrible time in our lives and helped us both strengthen our faith when it was weak. I know it can be hard to speak about religion on a social media platform, as I too have a youtube channel, but you did it anyway and I just want you to know that it made a difference. I honestly don't know where my mom would be right now without that recommendation. I could never thank you enough for staying true to yourself and doing God's work! I pray that you see this comment. I D'md you awhile back, but I can only imagine you get a high volume of messages and comments.
Can you give me the name of that book, my sister has dementia and I’m thinking that would help me with watching her go through the stages and my niece as well, thank you.
@BlingyBea of course, and I'm so sorry about your sister. You all are in my prayers. It's called Jesus Always by Sarah Young. I'll try to post another comment with the link, if youtube will let me. She has a few of these. I recommend this one and the one with the white cover as well.
What makes me most nervous about going to a new activity, is not knowing what the parking situation is. Please tell me I'm not alone in this! I hope you enjoy your Bible Study! Edit: I'm glad you enjoyed your Bible study!
I really don’t get nervous about those things anymore. I’ve done the things, survived, figured out where to park, talked to strangers, I’m in my thirties, I’m a grown up, and I’ve got this! Not gonna waste time being nervous anymore, active confident helps!
Yes!!!! It absolutely makes my day when you post a video. I’m just so excited for you both!!! What a step up for you and a beautiful work space to boot! Being nervous and having that burst of energy is to be expected. I’m also proud of you for breaking out of your comfort zone. It gets so much harder as you get older (52), so keep moving forward. I’ve been working on Christmas shopping lately and I have a Castify phone case on my list!! Many products you have recommended also grace my list. I just told my daughters we are definitely making the thin mint cookies you make! I talk about you like you are a member of the family! ❤️ You are young enough to be my daughter, but have done so much to help me broaden my horizons and make me feel so much more comfortable in my own skin. I’m one of your top viewers. You are with me from the time I’m getting ready each morning, until I head to bed at night. Your love of Disney has taken me back to my childhood and I’m actually co hosting a Disney Oogie Boogie Bash for our school tomorrow!!! My whole class will be wearing their Mickie and Minnie ears! How I wish you lived closer. Keep being the genuine, meat loaf eating soul you are. 🤣 Treasure those precious girls and eat that ice cream!!! I have two daughters as well and they grow up so fast (25 and 26). Hugs, dear Jessie!!!! ❤️😘 Susan in Maryland
Congratulations on the new space! I'm so glad you went. It does take courage trying new things. I love my lady's Bible study. We're all busy moms so we meet once a month but we look forward to it and we've been together for 3 years. My favorite part is that we share prayer requests and pray for each other. We've seen God do a lot of amazing things.
I really needed the positive vibes of your videos. Thnx. After the day I had I just wanna add: to anyone who's ever been a victim of bullying / hate / violence because of their appearance, gender, orientation, race : DO NOT ever let a hateful notion 'there's something wrong with me' sink in. Trust me, it's a recipe for self hatred and compulsive anxieties later on. When we suffer and we need a break, it's only natural to think: maybe if I wasn't 'different', if I was 'normal' I would be accepted. No, haters will always find something else to prey upon. I've always had kinda androgynous look, which was a fuel for bullies when I was growing up. I embraced it, used it to my advantage in my acting / modeling career, I was almost the face of Leon in these new Resident Evil games :)
You go girl! The more I step out of my comfort zone doing things I know have been on my heart for a long time, the more I want to keep doing it. I have been attending a BSF group for a couple years now and I love it! I teach SS so I missed meeting with a group of ladies so I definitely feel good about where I am at and more connected somehow. Love the new space and so happy for you and your family! Blessings sweet lady! 💗🕊🙏🏻
I’ve been chronically ill the past 4 years and the one benefit to all that I’ve had to go through is that I’m much less anxious about going to new places. Making phone calls, finding parking, speaking up for myself? All of it. Don’t care anymore😂🥰
I think you would love BSF (bible study fellowship) for a Bible study! It's follows the school year, but you can join anytime, and it goes deep. It's a great way to learn the Bible and also learn from other women. Childcare is also usually available ❤
Proud of you for going to the Bible study. That’s so cool! Very brave. I bet that a few of those ladies are so thankful that they met you. I hope that it’s both a spiritual and relational blessing for you. ❤
Omg the Hatch looks so amazing for my insomniac, sleep apnea self. The amount of times I have turned my alarm off on my phone and fallen back asleep is too high.
I feel you! If I am driving some place new, out of my bubble, it’s across the city, or in a neighboring city, I always leave way early. Waze is great - but still :)
I hope you enjoy your Bible study! I used to belong to a “Life Group” that’s what ours are called and the group grew and shrunk for years up and down…we had all ages of ladies in the one I went to. Several years later most of us had to go to work. So now it’s only 3 of us that have become BFF’s. I hope it goes well with you and yours!
I just love watching/hearing about what’s going on with Felicity because my twins, Maura and Roman, are just a few weeks younger. They just turned 18 months yesterday. Can totally relate to the shoe thing!!
Jessie, I get so worried about where to go that I literally look up building plans/maps prior to going somewhere - ESPECIALLY hospitals, museums, classrooms etc. If travelling to a foreign country, I study bus routes, timing, how to pay, whether I need a card to swipe to get on a subway, what the social etiquette is in that country (public transport/grocery stores etc). Okay, so this makes me sound like I'm not much fun 😂😂😂 But my husband says it's the most incredible thing because he gets to go to nice places he wouldn't have found otherwise. He's already very laid back and is a seasoned traveller, but he says he loves my 'research' and how I have a list of places I want to go.
Jessica, it made me truly smile when you were talking about buying shoes for children. My daughter is always saying it’s been the trickiest bit of parenthood for her and she says no one mentions it! I can’t wait to tell her that you said the same. 🤣👍🏻 Ps. Thank you for your vlogs, this Nana loves them.
As a chronic pain sufferer, getting jarred awake is a big problem because it puts my pain up through the roof for the rest of the day. I don't know why, triggers stress and trauma maybe? I need a better system.
You’re the only person I know who has even heard of Rice Krispies Treats cereal!!!! The vanilla almond granola from Trader Joe’s tastes exactly the same!!
Go Jess! Bible study can be terrifying. But really try to find the connections to your life or try to find a cool life lesson out of it. If all else, maybe you can find a cool summer mission trip opportunity! 🩷
Poor Felicity! I hope that she is feeling well now. My whole family went through exactly what y’all did. Everyone was sick and throwing up except for me and my 1 year old. Then the week after, she started getting the same symptoms. She’s such a trooper though, she literally throws up and then just smiles and points to it. 🤦🏻♀️😂 Also, I’m with you on going somewhere new. I’m a very punctual person too, so in order for me to feel relaxed going somewhere new, I have to make sure I’m there 30 min early so I can figure out parking and which entrance to use. Why are we like this? 😅
If you ever see the Plugra brand of butter there, buy it! It is cheaper than Kerry Gold and it makes Kerry Gold taste like lard. It is next level butter like you have never had. SO good! Seriously. 😋
The Mehron Paradise paints are great! You can build them in thin layers to get them pretty opaque, but because they're water-based, they wash off fairly well.
Yay your vlogs are my FAV! That and whats in your make up bag ❤ Hope your well, your in cosy winter season which is my fav, yes im that weirdo. We are in spring here in NZ.
Actually, chef boyardee , and speghettioes now has a serving of veggies per serving in them. The sauce is the veggies. If you serve it with broccoli or another veggie the girls will eat it is a win win for mom! My son still loves the canned pastas and he is 18!
I've patiently waited like a trapdoor spider until I could easily get Milani in Australia, declutter my collection first to justify more blush, wait for a minimum 40% sale because it's actually quite expensive and I finally got me Romantic Rose. You didn't let me down. Oooohoohoo this is what I'm talking about!!!! At last.
Each and every one of your videos brings me comfort and I find myself relating to you so much! Been there with the stomach bug and it is no fun! Especially the little ones who don't know it's going to happen. I started using a face wash from Hero. It's an exfoliant but it's so soft and smoothing. I cant remember the name but it's yellow! I recommend it!
Jess, if you're picky about jams and such, and haven't tried this yet -- try the St. Dalfours brand. SO GOOD! My favorite is the cherry, but they have others. Their Four Fruits is also a fav of mine.
Notification squad ❤ just said I’m going to bed to read. He says “I’ll be up soon”. RU-vid Jessica Braun uploaded a vlog. Me “how long is up soon? Jess uploaded a vlog” his response “you can watch it” 😃
My kids have tiny feet too. My oldest actually has to go larger because his arches are high. The tops of his feet run out of room much faster than his toes in all but the loosest of boots.
I love that you use the term pitch in instead of potluck. Potluck is what I’ve always heard and used. I’ve always disliked it because it makes me think of the bathroom…😂. I’m going to start using pitch in. I love these daily vlogs and the grwm videos also. Can you tell us where you got the last top you were wearing, the yellow gold turtleneck? Your energy level was so good that it made me smile.
I bought the baby hatch and use it for travel. Used it last night at a hotel. Hatch also reached out to send me the Hatch restore 2 to replace my first Hatch.
I just moved after living 7 years in the same apartment 😅 so much stuff even when you don't think you have that much. I'm still unpacking after two weeks 😅
I AM SO JEALOUS!!! I wanted John to solo/acoustic tour for ages and when he finally did, I had my wisdom teeth removed the day he was in my nearest city😅
During our move, our TV got some crack on the display and our moving company was insured for such case and we got a very reasonable compensation. I suggest to ask :-)
Those Halara pants are soo cute, they’d look so classy in black 😍 What size did you get? Are they true to size? Thanks so much for sharing ❤ love your content, just feels like I’m hanging out with my friend Jess 😊
I am trying to learn golf. I was at the driving range when a group of women said that they were about to start a round and asked if I wanted to join. I said yes even tho I have never played a full round in my life. I felt like I was going to cry or throw up the whole time. I only lost 2 balls and played with them again the next week
I have had my daughter throw up in the store twice, and now I laugh about it. She got to pick out new pants while being wrapped in my cardigan because it's all we had clean 😆
