You have inspired me. I have always wanted to do this ride, especially after doing the Barrie to Orillia trail earlier this year. I had always thought that the better route was to go counter clockwise. thanks for the video

I really enjoyed this video and how you structured it. I really liked the pre-ride runthrough of your prep work; would look to see more of that next time. Great job!

Looks like such an awesome route. I may add it to my list, but I think I would give myself two days. Thanks for the inspiration.

Awesome video man! I'm a relatively noob cyclist. I've been dreaming of doing this route for a while. Thank you for documenting it!!!

Impressive to have done this loop in one go. I went on a 5 day, 400KM bike tour in those areas last summer and the rolling hills absolutely killed me legs. I can't imagine doing 200KM on one day.

Thanks! That area is absolutely stunning. I am sure you had fun on your bike 😀

Nice. As a Barrie native, I’d like to do this next time I’m home. Last time I went out to Big Bay Point, which was already quite nice but only about 65km. My longest ride to date is 165km or so, so I’ve got some more work to do! Nice video! Would be nice to see the GPX.

I'm doing a walk and I'm heading out from Orillia. I'm trying to create a map for myself and just a bit confused getting a map together.

Feel free to use the many available apps to help you out creating maps and routes. Some I can suggest are Strava, Map My Ride, All Trails, and even Google Maps has some functionality. Stay safe and enjoy the outdoors!

Amazing ride. I was thinking about doing this ride next year. Since you did it solo, any advice for a ride around Lake Simcoe?
@torontocycling
@torontocycling 4 года назад
Indeed amazing. I'd say focus on the nutrition and the weather. In 5+ hour rides, you might feel great in the beginning but gradually you get overwhelmed with fatigue and muscle soreness. Have as many 100+ km rides in the bag as you can before and gradually increase the distance to 200. Also, start your ride a few hours earlier to avoid a ride in dark. I am sure you'll enjoy it 💪🚴

It's a GoPro 7 Hero at my hand, some footage in the middle of the video are taken with an Akaso v50x mounted under the handlebar.

You rode 200km and only ate like 2000 calories?
@torontocycling
@torontocycling 3 года назад
Yes. Spent almost 4000 calories and managed to intake around half. Working on eating more on the bike. It's a training on its own.
@matttk
