I quit my job and started a business in 2015. I wanted to be a nice boss and was accommodative and supportive towards my employees and their demands. I always believed that by doing so, my employees will uplift my business as their own. I went bankrupt in 2019. I wish I had known better.

As an entrepreneur I totally relate to the situation. I run a management consulting company and have a team of around 30 people. I also face the same issue during festivals. Time is precious and discipline is must in any organisation. No one is above organisation. I also work around 16 to 18 hour sometime. But people with small thinking won't get it. There are 2 sides of any business, customer side and the employee side. I might not be the right person and you understand the situation better, but we should be ready for these kind of situations. Being strict is necessary but the end goal should be how we can retain our employees.

I think the need of the hour is to have a full time HR team or HR resource in the premises who would be dedicatedly able to handle these scenarios and prevent them from being escalated. I reckon extreme micromanagement can hamper employee motivation and inturn affect the buisness.

One labour should work 8 hrs a day ,it's the policy my Labour Law. Your shift from 9.30 to 7 is 9.5 hrs which is too much for a worker. Apart from this people from outskirts have gone to their places after a long time. So staying for few more days is not a big deal. You are staying at home with your family that's why your ego is in this level otherwise without them you are nothing. Whatever fame you have is not because you keep them to work . Fame is because of they work sincerely with their best efforts .

Monday to Thursday holiday then staff is going to take Friday off for sure...ideally staff should be informed in advance that if Friday is taken as a sick leave then all days will be considered as sick leave.. If you wish to instill discipline then extra sick leaves, late reporting should be considered as negetive points during the appraisal/pay hikes/bonuses

I couldn't agree more with you Parikshit bhai. I myself have been associated with the US based MNC as a Team leader and I have almost 170 team members reporting to me directly or indirectly. Schedule Adherence is one of the major issues nowadays in the work place and there is a very thin line between you being aggressive and rude with them so we always have to be very careful with the selection of our words being a process/business owner. I could relate to this video completely as I do the same day in day out. My office timings are 5:30 PM to 2:30 AM and I am having food right now. I literally paused the video on TV, stopped having food and writing this comment. Discipline is indeed needed in any of the businesses. By the way, being a car enthusiast, I love your quality and accuracy in this industry and I have a dream of opening a similar business one day! Absolutely its the right way actually to keep people in disciplined, if the Co-workers are not in discipline with their works then the hard-work of other people those who really works hard and give their best, it seems to be their failure some where and same this use to happen with my team members, finally i got you also the doing same ...till now i was thinking that i was the only one who use to do same with my team members.
