A helpful tip for new bike owners is to always look for your bike manual online and follow the service intervals. Also learn every bit about your bike so you know when something is off.

Another tip for people who DIY their oil change. Do not dump the waste oil into regular bins or drains. What I do is collect the waste oil and dump it at the nearest bike shop. Seek permission from the owner or employees, I’m sure they’re more than happy to let you dump it in the waste oil barrel. So far, I’ve never came across any shop that don’t allow me to dump the waste oil.

This is honestly very very useful to new riders. And the most important important key point: BE PRESENT WHEN THEY'RE SERVICING YOUR BIKE. They're many out there who do slap dash work. Dont be a victim:)

But what happen if you want service the engine which need 1 or 2 days?
@palpmaster
@palpmaster 2 года назад
rule of thumb is: if u use your bike for work change regularly and use good synthetic oil, if weekend bike then forget mileage, use time periods, 2 month 3 month up to 6 months etc. then because singapore being near to the sea and everything rusts very fast. whatever mileage u see in service manual, half the mileage. end of the day still depends on how much u love your bike and how deep your wallet

Think this will be a good series but I won't change oil based on colour. Think some RU-vidrs sent the oils for lab test at different stages of wear. Some oils, even though black in colour still has good life in them. Of course, changing oil or other consumables like spark plug more often will definitely be good for the engine but is not economical. For me, I trust myself. Either I do the maintenance myself or send it back to the dealership. Service manuals can just download off the internet. @Farhantre , I suggest to do a video on fork oil servicing. All the used bikes I bought, the oil smells like rotten fish🤣. Not alot of people aware that fork also got oil.

Thanks guys for the informative video! If there's a follow-up video, it'd be great to touch on coolant, fork oil and suspension 👍🏼 Anyways the owner seems like a really genuine person. May Allah ease and bring blessings to your business bro 😌 Keep it up!

Very useful. I stopped riding in 2004 after I got married and passed my car license. Now with car prices soaring no choice... I am considering riding again. I was never interested in higher power bikes so just stayed at 2B license. Now finding out more online about riding.

How to check and to change brake fluid.. Please 👍🏻
@RubberTyres
@RubberTyres 2 года назад
To check, there is a sight glass on the master cylinder, make sure the brake oil is clear or abit yellowish and between the marking. Too low and the system will take in air and you will loose braking. To change, can get a brake bleeder valve from Motorworld $15. Makes life easier

Can ask how to know if a shop overcharge cos i new rider i scared uncle2 overcharged
@RubberTyres
@RubberTyres 2 года назад
This comes with experience lor.... Some shops put labour charge, some shops incur labour charge together with the parts. Good guage is to go and buy parts from dealer. Then you'll know how much each parts cost. If shops charge more but workmanship is good. I don't mind coming back to do a service. Send my bike to service before. That workshop quote a reasonable price, but cracked my oil pan by overtighten the drain plug.
@laddaevolta

@@RubberTyres If buy parts from dealers then bike shop will overcharge from labour.
@RubberTyres
@RubberTyres 2 года назад
@@laddaevolta can always get a quote you know, don't have to buy. Back to your comment, yes they will charge for labor but I normally rope in with other servicing so they won't charge. For example air filter I get from somewhere, then when it's due for valve clearance. I pass them the air filter to fit. Since they going to open the tank and all, normally they don't charge. If they do, I fit myself. Haha
