A LOT more fun doing that job than it used to be! I remember spending a solid month every day after school and Saturday cleaning out a calf barn with a 3' deep manure pack by pitchfork when I was 15. No door big enough for a tractor and loader - only windows to toss it out of. Way to keep the work lighthearted and fun, girls! Great to see kids that have good attitudes and work ethic!

Reminds me when I was young. No skid steer then. Straight from the pitch fork to the spreader. Took several days for two of us to clean out the bottom of the barn. Not nearly as many calfs as you all.

I haul bottle calves all the time and have to disinfect the trailer everytime due to diseases so I feel your pain on cleaning day try that every day sometimes twice a day
Interesting video! How many degrees do you get underneath the calf tent? And how many weeks do you keep them single, before putting them together in groups? Greetings from bavaria 😊
It’s about 5 degrees hotter than it is outside.. usually 😅. It’s not a controlled temperature. They are moved into group pens when they are weaned at 2 months.
They get different amounts of milk at feeding time, based on age. Since they are not all born at the same time they can't all be fed the same. Separate pens is the only way to feed and monitor their health properly.
