Bert, I watch a lot of youtube and listen to a lot of podcasts, but I wanted to comment that your VLOG really caught my by surprise. When you mentioned the channel on the podcast, I didn't realize how serious you were, or how much work you'd put into these. I feel like these are gems and show your personality even better than the podcast. At the end of the day, these entertain me, but more importantly the leave me with an infectious smile that comes directly from your energy and style. There's not enough of people in the world like you Bert. You might consider a blessing and a curse sometimes, but be certain it's a rarity and it's worth sharing. Please keep these up. RU-vid is a great platform for you.
I think this is awesome what you're doing! I agree with the longer scenes advice. You're a comic and a storyteller and a performer, so unlike all these other vloggers you actually know how to fill time and you should trust yourself to do it. I think the editing is cool and entertaining, but it shouldn't get in the way of the interesting/funny stuff that happens to you and the interesting/funny stuff you say. Also, I think the one thing you have going for you as a vlogger, that other vloggers don't, is that you're NOT a teenager/20-something. You're a grown man with a family and jobs out side of JUST filming yourself. It's awesome to get to see that stuff. I know you want boundaries with your wife and kids, however, that's what really sets you apart from so many famous youtubers. I think it would be really interesting if you were able to delve into that side of your live on these vlogs. ESPECIALLY, because you have control over the final edit. Obviously, this is all just my opinion. You do you, and no matter what I'll consume it! Thanks Bert!
I still find it amazing how much you do all the time from listening to the podcast and you writing out goals every year. have a great year and glad you made some great memories with your family
what a beautiful bird!!!! What an awesome thing to get for your birthday...your fam is awesome. And so is Tommy Bunz. Happy Birthday Bert, all the best to you and the family.
the photo of the owl n you is cool AF! you look so young in that photo idk why but you do. not that you look old the rest of the time but you seem to have a baby face in it! oh and you look genuinely happy too!
Dude, great job on the Vlog. Great editing, love the music mixed in, the fast forward video... lots of good stuff for your fans. Awesome job Bert.... and Happy Birthday. :)
Happy birthday! Love all the vids man you keep them short and sweet just how it should be. Would it be a lot to ask how you go about setting your goals? Like what works best for you, short or long term or both? Just whatever you feel is the best approach to setting goals. Thanks a lot dude! :)
You said on your podcast that you would welcome advice. My only advice is to make each clip a bit longer to show us how the scene truly felt. I really hope you keep up with the vlogs and don't let dummies tell you that you should make them quick or fast edits. The whole myth of the younger generation wanting quick videos and all having ADD is false. You think long form podcasts or audiobooks would be gaining constantly in popularity if the youth was soooo into 6 second videos? I love your point of view, thus I want as much of it played out in front of me as you are willing to give.
+lhmmhl1 Thanks...I think I'm trying to figure this whole this out...I like the longer scenes too, messing around with editing and trying to figure out the program...hopefulluy I'll stay with it and figure out my voice in this sooty telling format. Thanks for the advice!
+Bert Kreischer +Bert Kreischer I disagree and love how you're developing the vlog, Bert! Long forms of entertainment like podcasts and audiobooks are usually engaged whilst doing something else, working out, driving etc. So they don't have to be as engaging at times, and you can weave in and out. Vlogs can get boring quick, snapshots of your day are, for me and many others, more engaging and leaves the audience wanting more. I think your editing is fine, and hope to see you upload more frequently!
+Bert Kreischer *You don't need to figure out your voice Burt, your personality is already more than capable of owning RU-vid. Just be consistent and you'll crush it. And promote this channel on JRE! 1,000,000 SUBS!*
Man I was all please make it an owl instead of a lame ass falcon and BOOM OWL! I would shit my pants if I got that as a birthday surprise. I haven't had a birthday party since 2019 at this point. I graduated University twice and had 0 graduation parties since then on top of that. On top of that I've fallen into a deep deep hole of alcoholism and I cry a lot. Both of my siblings have had babies during the pandemic and they are ENDLESSLY sick. We can't have family gatherings because they have the flu, covid, viral this, viral that, aids, monkey pox, you name it, or don't, they have it, ALWAYS. Did I mention I cry a lot by myself? I have a bunch of guns and I don't like having them around because I sleep walk. I inherited them. But here I am watching old Bert VLOGS from the before times, just to get a taste of what the old normal was. I missed all of these as I was in college and working fulltime back then. It wasn't worth it. Honestly, in my experience nothing is. Bert, I have a master's degree and ivy league invitations to join doctorate programs but I'd drop everything to join your team dude.
First, I love your way of vlogging. Second, I love Bertcast, it's one of the few I always wait to pop out to listen to. I think it would be great if you'd make a video of the podcast too, could be as simple as just one camera at a one angle, pretty easy to do and doesn't really take too much more time to do. Podcasts are great audio only too don't get me wrong, occasional video of the pod could be something I'd like to watch at home for entertainment at a weekend. Thanks and keep on!
as a user stated above, short clips into a bloggers life can leave viewers satisfied while still partly wanting more, but i agree with you as well, figuring it would be great to compromise and make the videos maybe about 10 minutes: short enough to not get boring, but long enough to keep us perfectly satisfied. what got me, though, was your mention of the video portion of his podcasts. i was thinking this recently, too.. when a simple google search not only and answer to my request showing that bert had been adding as many full episodes as possible since episode #100, but they are all shot exactly the way you described, and can be found on this very channel! hahahah, so unless you were totally making an ironic joke, i find it pretty funny that you exactly described his bertcast videos that you may had found of you'd explored his channel just a bit more. (i love those long video podcasts as well; i used to subscribe to the never not funny video feeds, and am a big fan of getting doug with high)
Your birthday surprise is EXACTLY what I want to do for my girlfriend this year, I have no idea how you go about setting that up though, anyone have any ideas?
Another good vlog Bert. Keep it up. If I were you I would reach out to Casey neistat or fousey to do a collaboration of some sort. That would for sure get you more hits and subscribers
Crazy how owls have ears like that, almost like a fuckin rabbit. Idk why but that last pic took me by surprise. How long do those fuckin things live anyway. Did you even want an owl Bert?
