The first days of Summer are fast approaching, and this week we’re heading to Lake Tahoe’s Sand Harbor...lovingly referred to as the "jewel of Tahoe."
Sand Harbor is known for its crystal clear water, sandy beaches, and beautiful rock formations. Two ramps are located at Sand Harbor and are perfect for water skiers, fishermen, and boats to launch from. The waters of Sand Harbor are wildly popular for swimming, scuba diving, and snorkeling.
The southern section of Sand Harbor is perfect for children and swimmers with its sandy shores, and the northern section is great for exploring the giant rocks and boulders. In the Summer months the Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival brings live theater to the waters edge. Make sure to stroll the Sand Point Nature Trail...it’s less than half a mile, wheelchair accessible, and it leads to Sand Point with stunning mountain and Lake Tahoe views.
