Thank you for watching ♥️ I would say go to LinkedIn and make a list of companies you would want to volunteer for, from there on email them or call them and tell them your intentions make it known to them that they would be of great benefit by having you on board. I'm not sure when they take intakes, its probably different with companies but I would suggest knocking on doors all year round NGO's and small business are a good place to start because they need extra hands that won't cost them
Here are my top tips 1. Volunteer somewhere while you job hunt, it will look good on your CV 2. Continue with your studies while you job hunt, that way your time isn't going to waste 3. Be very active on LinkedIn 4. There's no work experience on your CV and everyone else has a qualification so your CV has to really stand out for you to get that phone call. CV tips 1. Leave out unnecessary info like you ID and Marital Status (I won't touch on this because it would take forever, but linkedin has a lot of recruiters who give a lot of tips) 2. Make your layout simple and easy to read - research on ATS(Application Tracking Software) most companies use it to filter out CV's, the system can't read pdf and fancy fonts so most times you might qualify for a job but your CV doesn't make it past the ATS 3. Don't use one CV too apply for 100 jobs, each job is different - whenever I job hunt I spend atleast an hour on a single job application because it is important to tweak your CV according to what they are looking for Once you get that interview PREPARE PREPARE PREPARE I cannot stress this enough. Google, youtube is there to help. Go into that interview with confidence and most importantly believe that the job is already yours
What advice do you have for a high school student who is not doing Accounting but would like to do accounting at University, do you think it will be challenging for them?
Hi Elinah, I would say go for it but before starting at varsity just take some time to self teach yourself the basics. If you can understand the debits and credits then you're good to go, everything else you'll learn in varsity.
I personally did maths and physics at high school and am now working and studying accounting at varsity. I will say go for it but be prepared to compromise and sacrifice somethings
hey i like your videos. help me out with some advice, how would you rate your accountant job in terms of salary and workload. Would you recommend it to others? im kinda in a decision making part of varsity studies.
The salary becomes good if you study to honors level and do your articles. The workload is a lot, if I could do it all over again I would not do accounting but the nice thing is you'll never struggle getting a job. Just make sure you enjoy it. I personally don't
