Thank you for sharing your thoughts 💭 on being a boy mom and that will be when they are married w kids. I think of this often as I am a 43 yr old boy mom of one 2.5 yr old kiddo. I make sure I include my MIL because one day I will be her and I pray 🙏🏽.

Our son picked the best wife and my desire is for her to rave about me as much as I rave about her. We’re off to a great start. From your videos and the relationship you share with Sef and PJ I’m sure this will be true for you as well. ☺️

Having a flat is one of the worst things. Glad you were in an open area and people were around. So fast how much the boys are growing. You will be a great MIL I am sure. We were so ready for Summer break.

I’m a boy mom and I love my son’s girl. My son proposed to her in April on her birthday trip to Jamaica. I think I’m more excited than they are. 😁We have a really good relationship and our families do as well. I think it’s very important because I’m a Grammie to their 2 kids and love my grandkids. 🥰 Now on the other hand I never felt a genuine connection with my ex-husband’s mom. She never been much on a grandmother to my son neither. My mom was an awesome grandmother and mother in law to her kids spouses and her grands. Still to this day I have an awesome relationship with my son’s sister. She still visit and calls me mom. 😊

Boy mom of four! Our oldest just got married the best daughter in love ever! My other two dating the same girls since highschool and our youngest is 11. All I can say is it’s truly different I give space I give room and I pray lol to always have an amazing relationship because I want grands and the best relationship! Our uh oh youngest is keeping us young lol

I’m a mother-in-law and I have the absolute best son-in-law and wow I understand what you’re saying cause I have both a daughter and a son. I’ve already told my son don’t be first of all you need to be married before you start spreading your seat that’s number one number two you ain’t crazy because if I can’t be in my grandchildren lives like I’m in my grandchildren lives now cause my daughter has two children then it’s a no starter for me, so yeah I’m already telling my son this is how it’s gonna be now true enough when my daughter was having her children. I was there. I was very very involved. I don’t see myself being that involved with my son has his children because I’m thinking her mother would probably want to play that role, but I’m gonna be very active and my son is required to come see me as much as they see him or see her as far as the holidays I don’t stress my children out about holidays either one of them the boy or the girl I just make sure that they see me between Thanksgiving and Christmas and that we spent time together and then I’m able to cook a meal don’t get so hung up on they have to be there on Christmas morning and they have to be there for Thanksgiving dinner those times can be at any time during the holiday season so just keep that in mind and you’ll things will flow a lot better. They tend to want to be around more. I know with my ex mother-in-law. She always wanted us dinner at a certain time all of the stuff and it was like I want to create those memories with my children so I don’t stress about it I just make sure that I spend time with my children during the holiday season and make sure that we’re creating those memories, regardless of it being that particular day or not plus, I’m an empty Nester so for me, I can go see them. I don’t need them to be in my house and around me. I can go and see them just as well as they can come home so I can go and create those memories and their house with them so keep an open mind about that, and look at things differently. People don’t live as close to each other as used to so you know you have to be flexible when it comes to things like that and the children will appreciate that and want to be around you more that’s what I’m finding. My son-in-law is like he’ll tell you. I’m the only one they can visit, so there’s that but good luck than having a son. I talked to my daughter 15 times a day. I talk to my son twice a week maybe three times but it is very different so good luck you’ll be fine.

Girl I feel you. I’m 48 with a son going to 4th grade.. I try to stay in the young so he won’t feel like I’m too old.

I truly understand. I’m 44, my 17 year old just graduated high school, but I have a 5 year old entering kindergarten😬

I love that (being a wonderful mother-in-love) as a “boy mom” I feel the same. I love my daughter’s mother-in-love she is a clone of me, because she really cares for my daughter. I’m so blessed.Kids grow up so fast 💨 Also, I’m that old mom 😂 all my friends are grandma’s but I’m still having babies. I honestly think my youngest son is keeping me youthful. We are retiring soon and we plan to be at all his games on time and finally we ‘ll have free time. We told the football coach our age and he said that we have old genes so our son will be awesomeness in everything he does lol. 😂

Girrrllll I think about it all the time! I lucked out with my sister in law! She’s like my real sister so I am SO close to my nieces and nephews! I feel like back in the day it used to be really common for the guy’s mom and sisters to not like the girlfriend or wife and now as a mom I feel them because where you think you taking my son?! 😂🤣

No Shanna… don’t feel like you will be the “older” parent…to be honest you are still young…you look like you are 25…and you are in a place where you can do field trips or volunteer at the school and just be their for your children. All of your boys’ friends will love you because of your loving and nurturing nature . You are such a sweet person!😊

Hey Shanna! I’m a mother to an adult son who’s not married yet and doesn’t have children but I’m looking forward to the day that I’m blessed with grand babies. And, when the time comes, it’s my hope that both families can come together to celebrate some holidays all together so neither set of grandparents miss out on memories. I have three boys. While one is grown and i know the feeling of being older with a preschooler. When i was pregnant with my youngest I my oldest was a senior in high school. I went to enroll him in school nine months pregnant with him, they thought i was a student. I said no I’m a mother. A grown mother. that just goes to show you how old these young ladies are looking.

As a girl mom, and now a grandmother, I never gave that any thought but I know my grandbaby is closer to me than her paternal grandmother because she has spent a good portion of her 1 year of life visiting our home for a month at a time every few months and has only seen her paternal grandmother once in person as a newborn and the rest has been on Facetime.

Boy mom we spend a lot of holidays with my husbands parents. My son is 5 I’m 34 I feel like I am the older mom lol especially if I have another one. Loved the vlog.

I was the exact same way Shanna. I have a great relationship with my current MIL ex MIL who is the bio grandmother don’t even speak to my boys. Being a boy mom and meeting other boy moms with grands seems to be a trend! The mom’s mom and grandmother wants to be in control their own family spoke up it was so bad. They only wanted us to have her when it was a benefit for them like their personal babysitter. Because I don’t play about mine we filed court papers. I’m still active I don’t give advice unless asked. It’s interesting to say the least. But my grand daughter is EVERYTHING! I tell her all the time she is amazing. As of today we have a better relationship, but it’s been a ride. I’m sending prayers your way ahead of time. God will bless you with the desires of your heart. It definitely takes a village.

I feel you girl. I had my son at 39 and he's Sef's age. The younger moms can't believe I'm 49 so I guess that's good. And I befriended some other older moms too! Now about being a grandmother on the dad's side, I didn't think about that until your video. 🥲My mother lives in NY and I'm in Atlanta and even though my mother in law is in the same general area as we are, my son is definitely closer to my mom (who is hundreds of miles away). Crazy! Like you said, we'll have to be intentional about our relationship with our future daughters in law (for the sake of our future grandbabies!).

I think it depends on your personality as far as a grandmother. The more time, effort and love you put into the relationship with your daughter in-law will dictate that. We split the holidays with my daughter in-law.

I, too, am a boy mom x3, and I am also a later in life mom, lol. I always tell my boys we are family that adds and never subtracts. I don't ever want their partners in life to feel isolated or excluded. I know it's easy to say now when my oldest is a teenager and my youngest is just starting school, but I feel that setting the tone from when they are young is very important. My boys and I are super close and I would hate to lose that connection.
