I just got a job as a PCT/CNA in the Kingwood medical center in HTX and I’m REALLY looking forward to this transition. I came from being a PCT in a dialysis setting and this should be way more laid back than dialysis. I gave Dialysis a try and stayed for a full year and I hated every minute of it mainly because when they hired me as a PCT I got to the job and they doing totally different stuff than what I learned in Tech school and had the audacity to pay $12 😭 I just pray that I finally find something in healthcare that I can stick with. Dialysis just ain’t it

I’m doing morning shift and a bit of evening and night but after watching this I probably should consider night shift for every shift it seems soo chill. I just started working at a hospital a couple months ago. I work on the surgical unit. At my hospital we do vitals, accuechecks, blood draws, and ADL’s. It’s so much work but I love it. I work night shift too. I used to work in home health and memory care before this job and I hated it lol. It took me a year to get a hospital job.

At my job they really be hiding things to from supplies to start your shift in the morning to the pulse ox machine like what is wrong with y’all these things belong to the facility I be so annoyed

I was thinking of going for a CNA course but I hear a lot of horror stories of how patients get nasty. A friend of mine has a friend that is a CNA and a patient bit her and another patient through poop at her. I have heard worse things than that. So I want to get into the medical field but I don't know if I should pursue it. I don't want to deal with violence from patients. Any advice would be great ! I have a limited time to schedule for school for their next session.

Im planning on taking CNA courses next year and tbh im not feeling taking that route. I want to start as an LPN but the way the programs start at NY it will take a long time to get in. I want to be a nurse but it sounds alot.
