Imma turn 21 next month and I still have my XV dress… Here in Brazil it is common to rent, but mine was made from scratch by a local lady at that time, so I still own it!! I always say to myself that whenever I can I’ll throw another XV party AGAIN! 😂 I might be 22, 23 or wtv, but Imma do it XV style (here we say “quinze”, “festa de 15 anos” or “debut”)!

are quinceaneras only for catholic mexicans? thats what my christian mexican mother told me! I looked it up, and im not catholic or religious at all, but i am mexican. would it be disrespectful or bad if i were to have one?
I don’t think so my dads sister which is ofc my Tia she’s Christian and she wanted to throw my cuz a quince but never did sadly so I would say they are for both but I’m not sure about the classes.
A quince is a celebration for young girl's transition into womenhood. Such as Mary the Virgin being pregnant with Jesus when she was around 14-15. So since Mary is a prominent figure in the Catholic faith, many often say that only Catholic Mexicans can celebrate a quince. A quince is based on Catholic faith, but I don't think that you can't celebrate. You should be able to celebrate your 15 in a special form anyway, since for the rest of the world, it's just another birthday. 😭 It just holds a special meaning for Catholics. (Also, if you're a Catholic and you're having a quince, you must be a virgin. do you know how much like the venues normally cost, and how much the party bus cost. and did you have to hire security and catering? because my aunt didn't wanna do a venue bc she would probably have to hire security. i don't know tho i'm confused and nervous my quince is in 3 months😅

Do it if you feel like it’s right!! I’m 25% ecuadorian and never grew up there but still am deciding to do a quince and my entire family is so supportive and happy. It doesn’t matter what percentage you are or where you grew up, all that matters is if you feel like you want to have the experience and that it’s worth it to you❤
