Regarding your dog it could be allergies. The most common dog allergy is protein (chicken is very common). He could also be allergic to grass, pollen for example. My dog is allergic to dust and he licks his paws because of that.

Yeah that’s what the vet said but the issue is figuring out exactly what he’s specifically allergic to .. so far I’ve changed his food and that seems to be helping. But he’s also on medication so I can’t be sure 🥲
