i think it's important to note that your audience has grown alongside you. our tastes have changed and evolved and so has our understanding of how the world works. we're old enough to see that content and our consumption of content does not come for free, that creators are people too, and that ultimately what you do is a career, it's your job. you have every right to do work that you are excited and passionate about and that is supportive of your mental, emotional, and physical health. so while you may not hit the same "numbers" as you did back then, you have done something even more special which is cultivate a community of like-minded souls who have stuck around because we are evolving along side you. and your contribution to this collective is very valuable, and we are happy when you are doing well just like you are happy when we are doing well.

it’s such a comforting thing... seeing your face and listening to your sit down talks in the past 7 years that i’ve “known you”. kinda crazy how someone just talking to a camera/teaching me random things has helped me grow so much as a person. you were pretty much my idol during the developing years aka the most important part of my life. and although no human being is perfect, it has been such a pleasure going thru this journey alongside you, even if you have no idea who i am. i believe that at the end of the day and at your very core, you stay true to yourself. that in itself has inspired me for all these years to be a stronger independent person. will always have such a soft spot for you and your content, no matter what damn ad or sponsorship you post

Dear Claire, I am going to be 37 this year. And, no, my life isn’t where I thought it would be, or where I’d like it to be, either. Thats not to negate all the good things in my life - because there is so much. What I’m trying to say is, I really resonated with everything you said about age and expectation. You are speaking with such clarity, I see only stronger, better things ahead for you. Why would you be doing the same thing for all these years? unpopular opinion: I love how infrequent you are with posting. It hits my life different nowadays and it makes me really listen. I totally relate to you about age and expectations. I thought by 25 I’d have kids and be married and then changed that to 30 as I got older. But when I turned 30 last year i decided to take the risk and quit my economist job instead. Now I’m a handywoman haha still not married, no kids, starting out as a novice is the trades. I think those expectations were a reflection of someone else’s. What’s important is to strive to be content so you can be the best version of yourself for other ppl.

Isn't it crazy how our generation has this urge of creating something and we have well paying jobs where all we see are emails and numbers and papers and it is just not fulfilling us, as we do not see the real life value in it as much as when you actually do something. Next to my office job, I have started cleaning offices on the side. You could say it is a low quality job and why does someone with two degrees do this. But it is so damn fulfilling looking back at a clean place and I actually feel like my work is needed...

I think it's also coz my parents were striving for basic food and shelter after war. For my gen (I'm 32) we already have basic needs on Maslow's hierarchy of needs so we are reaching higher up that pyramid of needs.

I felt your expectations convo to my core❤ I'll be 30 in the fall. My 20's were the hardest years of my life. Including a near death experience. A lot of PTSD/ trauma/ depression/ anxiety...learning I have PCOS, the birth control pill giving me a pulmonary embolism....losing 5 family members in the past 6 months. Understanding why I haven't been able to get pregnant the past 7 years, I was upset for a long time that my life so far didn't turn out how I pictured. However the amount of knowledge, life experience amd personal growth through it all I could never of had without my trials. I have managed to stay soft and empathetic despite my hardships. I have no shame in crying or showing emotion. I have a wonderful husband who cherishes me and all my pain too. It is never too late to live your best life. And it is okay to change how that best life looks. It is not written in pen. We can rewrite as much as we want. ❤

I never comment on youtube videos, but I have to for this. as another full time content creator, it is so refreshing to see how you have grown and gained perspective over the years. I honestly like that you don't post a video every other day. I like seeing raw, genuine days and conversations - but not so often that I can tell you're pushing too hard to make content. Seeing a woman in her 30’s so content and happy with herself, as she is and where she is in life, is so incredibly comforting as a younger viewer. It’s inspiring to know that I don’t have to follow a set course in order to feel fulfilled, and you’ve 100% helped me in acknowledging this. i'm a late-comer to your channel but i started following you when my dad suddenly got sick and passed away pretty quickly afterwards. i saw your video about your mom and i couldn't help but feel comforted by the fact that you had expressed in words what i couldn't about how i felt about my dad. after my dad passed, i kind of had to re-learn who i was and i found it to be so much more difficult than i thought it should be. i just turned 35 a month ago and i felt so much relief when i realized all that angst i was feeling was because of my own expectations of myself or projections of what i thought others (and my dad, if he were still here) would expect of me. it was a eureka moment when the light bulb went on but keeping the light on is still something i need to constantly work at. all this is just so i can say thank you for being you, just the way you are. and thank you even more for sharing your journey with us. xoxo

I’m on a different path and learning to celebrate the journey. I love that your videos have grown and changed with you because we just aren’t the same people now. I've been following you for years and I still really enjoy your videos and just you - who you are. No one is the same person they were 5 years ago, or 10 years ago, at least, if you're lucky you're not. We're meant to grow, evolve, and have no experiences that help shape us. Don't ever feel like you need to apologize for changing or that you're not "the same person" you used to be. I discovered your videos around 5 years ago when I was in a terrible place with my health and was spending a lot of time almost house-bound. I loved how you transcended genres and had a genuinely unique creative voice and vision. You really inspired me to explore my own creativity and make videos of my own, which was a really important outlet for me. AND I love that you have remained true to that voice, honouring how it has changed over time and only creating and posting when it has felt right for you. Thank you for this video. I had a small breakdown in my bathroom last night about not feeling like I’m ever going to be where I want to be in life. I’ve gotten over the hump of using my age as a reference to where I should be, but I’ve gotten more stuck on the length of time it’s taking me to achieve my goals and dreams. I have a support system, which I am fortunate for, but sometimes my mind is more stubborn. I guess my motivation has been that I’ve never done anything the conventional way that society has said we all should. I’m soon to be 29, and looking forward to my 30’s. You’re video is another reminder to continue to push forward.

Please, please, please don't delete any of your back catalogue! I go back and watch because it reminds me of who *I* was when I was watching a particular video of yours. You inspired me to actually try communicating with people I would watch, show my appreciation for the work you all do. And when you replied, and told me I made you laugh, the confidence boost I got lasted me until this day. We are all changing, you're just one of the few that do it in front of an audience, that's gotta be so hard. I love watching you work on being kinder to yourself, there's no one who deserves it more.

I always feel that your content has given me so much understanding of the things I have felt but couldn't describe. You have inspired me over the years to spend more time with the people who are important to me which I cannot thank you enough for since I lost my grandma last year. You inspired me to let go of the fear of a stigma which led me to an amazing career in public service. You inspired me to let go of negativity and not take people's shit which led me to leaving a place where I struggled to get to a place where I'm truly happy. You've inspired me to strive which continues to lead me to success. You're more than what your videos were. You're the badass that a lot of us needed so thank you for that. Thank you for continuing to create for a community who is here to grow with you! 💙💙

I love seeing your growth journey. I love being able to grow alongside you, even though your content is different from years ago. As it should be different, because with each passing day, we’re always evolving and growing and learning to be better. I love the content you’re creating now because it represents reality and what it actually looks like to invest in things that are important and to grow out of things that no longer serve us. As crazy as it sounds, I feel like through your vlogs, I’m able to “know” you. You’ve always been one of my favorite inspirations and still are to this day. Thank you for sharing a small portion of your life with us. It’s good to see the good things, but it’s even better to also to have a reminder that this is real life and it’s not always rainbows and butterflies. So proud of you and of who you are today!

I turned 35 a few weekends ago and was dreading it because I felt like I haven't hit a lot of the "normal" milestones that people hit by the time they're my age. Your video was a comforting and refreshing reminder that it's all okay. My milestones may not be the same as someone else's nor are our paths. Thank you for sharing your journey and thoughts throughout the years. Your videos are always so very well done.

I love seeing you being so open, so vulnerable with us and always so authentically you. No matter what stage you are in your life. Your videos and content in general are different and that’s what I like - I have changed , you have and it’s a blessing!! Can you imagine being the same person? Watching this video my first thought was “ I have to make changes in my life in order to have what I want ... so go exercise- go grocery shopping- go have a tea with a friend... “ I have a cat as well and for some reason I feel an extra connection here 🧡 Ahahahahahah thank you Claire for being YOU .

It's always such a joy to see a video from you. And in a similar way, it's nice to know that you've stepped back as well and have more things to pass on to us that you've learned while away. I agree with other commenters in saying that we've grown alongside you, and the things that we used to want to see aren't necessarily the things we enjoy the most now. I used to love super intricate makeup tutorials, now I find so much more comfort in seeing people just be relaxed and living their lives, like even snips of you cooking things or chatting to Bruce. It's more grounded in reality and I think that's what our generation is settling into, and I'm sticking with you to keep growing 😊

I say keep the old videos, they’re a part of your story. I sometimes go back and watch them when I’m eating, because I find comfort in them. Kind of like watching friends, or something. I’m exited to see you grow, and i hope you won’t let your past videos hinder you in that

Part of the reason I find watching your content so comforting and inspiring is that you are constantly changing and looking to improve yourself. I’m honestly not a big commenter on YT videos even though I love watching them, but I find that if I ever do, it’s on something you’ve created. It’s your ability to be honest when you feel at most at odds with yourself that makes your content so engaging and what connects with me. A few years ago you did a series where you let us ask you questions. I submitted one where I asked your advice on moving to LA. You chose it, gave me some solid tips, and after some changes in my life (moving to a different country and back), I’ve been out here for 2 years and now started to pursue my dream. I appreciate that advice and look forward to watching more of your stuff in the future! Thank you, Claire, for being you! (And for reading this whole thing if you did, haha.)

I started watching you years ago and I just turned 30 this month. Feels like I’m growing alongside you. Your videos are incredibly comforting and make me feel like I’m not the only one who thinks this way. I guess sometimes we just have to ease up on being so hard on ourselves and just enjoy life in the moment. Not the past or the future. Just learn to be present with what life is presenting now. ❤️

For a long time I wondered what happened with you and your channel and was confused. I was a teenager when I started watching you and I just didn’t get it at the time. This video cleared up so much for my understanding of you and reminded me of why I fell in love with your videos to begin with. You’re so real and down to earth.
