A plant (завод) is a small industrial facility with a fully automated production of one cycle, while a factory (фабрика) is a large industrial enterprise with an automated production line that employs a large number of workers. In simple terms: the difference in scale. Комбинат is an association of industrial enterprises from different production areas. It may include weaving and clothing production, or enterprises working with linen, hemp and cotton raw materials. One комбинат can include several заводов with certain products at once, while the products of one department can serve as raw materials for another.

@@RussianwithDasha Там информация достоверная, но в официозном ключе. Это чувствуется и по тексту видеоролика. Несколько суховатый такой стиль получился об истории города. Не хватает шуток, прибауток, были, баек и легенд;) Именно того, из чего состоит жизнь простого народа🙂
