Excited that it's all coming together for you and Mohammed! I've got a cat too and she's a sofa scratcher but have friends who have managed to re-train/train their own cats to not scratch their sofas so perhaps you guys could try that with Simba. Watching Americans furniture shop is so exciting because of the sizes and options of the stuff you have (I'm from a tiny country in SEA so we don't have that).

My boyfriend and I had to take a 3 month break from looking at couches because of COURSE he wanted the cup holders and recliners. Like..no. Absolutely not🥴😂 we ended up getting him a reclining loveseat with cupholders for his game room just so he could be happy 😂

Try claw caps for your cat. Prevents scratching. You’ll have to reapply new ones when the nails grow out, but they are definitely helpful.

Check offer up on wood furniture bc you can find antique wood tables chairs, buffet tables, etc. that are much better quality than the stuff made today.

There are couch fabrics designed for people with pets so it won’t get scratched. Ask for it.

Get nail caps for Simba. They are like little fake nails that are safe to glue onto a cats nails, so if they scratch it doesn't damage the furniture. We did that for our cat when she was younger until she started using a scracth post.

Since you have pets in the house you should get light color couch or you're gonna be doing hoover several times from the cat's hair.

Don’t worry! My husband planned our engagement with my family over dinner and we walked in and the hostess immediately asked “you’re here for the engagement?” I didn’t hear anything since I was saying hi to my family but then he later told me about that situation lol

You should stick tape on the ground to see how the furniture would look in the space you've got in your livingroom Like how big the dinner table is and so on...

My mom got her couch from big lots and it’s the most comfy modern couch and prob like $900!

Guys you don’t need to measure just ask for a blue print copy. Also, be prepared to wait up to a year for the furniture. I just got orders from RH, Arhaus, CB2 and Anthropologie that were place last year. You can see some of my furniture in my YT Channel or IG.

I would have thought that they would renovate Leena’s old house and stay there and save up for a final house.. or maybe the furniture?
