Hi Mindy! When you were talking about your coffee problems it reminded me of when I used to use my Keurig to make coffee. It was giving me brain fog, abdominal discomfort all the time, nausea, fatigue, migraines/headaches… And it was from a brand new machine. I tried several different K cups, and all of them gave me the same reaction. Within 24 hours of stopping use I felt like a completely different person. I went back to a regular drip coffee and it has been great. And drinking decaf coffee in the morning took away all of my morning anxiety. I can drink it in the afternoon just not the morning. I just wonder if maybe that might be helpful for you, too. Hoping for great success with baby #2! ❤️❤️

I messed around with stomach issues and food issues for over 10 years. Back in September I started seeing a functional med dr…best decision ever. Did have to eliminate gluten, dairy, soy, sugar and alcohol, but during that time I was on supplements to heal my liver and gut. The difference in how I feel now is amazing. I have added some dairy back in diet and so far so good. Regular dr just didn’t help me. I’m now even off my thyroid meds and all.

Agree on the functional medicine doctor & elimination diet for a month. My daughter found out after a 6 week elimination diet that the resistant starch in bananas caused acid reflux and dairy causing panic attacks. Those aren't in her diet anymore.

Yes! I think so many of us have gut issues and metabolic/hormone issues that have developed over time, and once we take time to heal our guts and bodies, we should be able to digest things better. Sometimes we have to eliminate things for a time to give our bodies things that are easier for us to digest, but that doesn’t mean it has to be or should be a forever thing. Once our bodies start healing, we should be able to introduce things back in.

I’m a GI nurse! Lol I’ve heard doctors talk to patients with similar complaints. They usually recommend that you keep a food diary of everything that you eat for a couple weeks (keeping notes if something bothers you) and then eliminate that or let your doctor know what you come up with so they can help guide you! You may need an endoscopy /colonoscopy so your small bowel can be biopsied for possible celiac disease and they can take random colon biopsies to check for microscopic colitis. Hope that helps!❤️❤️

I am a nurse and a nutritionist and i have IBS. I would recommend going to a doctor just to eliminate other diseases and then a FODMAP diet. Often it helps to limit foods for a period of time and then try it again. I got back on coffee after limiting it for a while so not all hope is lost. I personally limit my fibres and drink lots of water during the day. Hope this helps

Hi Mindy & Larry, Sounds like just a few symptoms i started getting but progressed even more. Sounds like issues with Lactose & Gluten.. may have to completely eliminate them. I went and saw a gastroenterologist I was diagnosed w/IBS, severe reflux, etc. Also went to an allergist and tested positive for lactose & gluten intollerance. Even though I removed those from my diet years ago. FYI: Parmesan, swiss & cheddar are very low in lactose. So, changing on your own what you consume is the best way to know what your body will tolerate or not. Do what works for you also may have to change your brand of coffee from starbucks to duncan or something else. Their coffee beans are very stronge especially acidity wise. Your reactions are becoming more common than you think. Good luck, and thank you for sharing.

And one other thing… When it comes to the gluten, or maybe the dairy, I got something called gastroenteritis many years ago. The cramping and the problems were so bad that I went to the ER and they gave me morphine. It’s an inflammation of your intestines. Every time that I would eat rice, gluten, or corn it would cause the inflammation to flare up. The only way that I could combat that was by eliminating it, but also taking a really good probiotic. I use pro- 15 from Hyperbiotics. And it is a true lifesaver. Even if you didn’t do an elimination diet and you use the probiotics just when you were having issues you might find that it’s super helpful.

I then went to a dr, I was sent to see a gastroenterologist, turns out I have IBS, they’ll do a testing on you to see if you’re allergic to anything and go from there. I also have similar symptoms with my stomach. My doctor recommended doing the Whole 30 diet, 30 days of elimination of certain foods (added sugars, dairy, grains, etc.) and then after the 30 days you reintroduce foods incrementally to identify the triggers for your body. Hope you start to feel better. 💚

I would definitely get checked for Celiac Disease. Gluten can destroy your intestinal lining enough that it becomes hard to then process dairy. I noticed a problem with eggs as well. That constant inflammation can also affect fertility so it’d be nice to rule it out! Hoping you get some answers soon!

Hi Mindy! I'm sorry to hear you’re having stomach problems. I do not have a solution but one thing you can do is eliminate as much as possible all the processed food and anything with lots of sugar or greasy (like chips) or with strong seasoning like pepper. And to anyone who's reading this, do not engage in those fashionable diets like keto or fasts. I did that overnight and had big digestive problems for a while. As to the IVF journey, I hope all the best! 😊

Hey, Mindy. The same exact thing happened to me with the coffee AND protein. I still drink coffee, but I do not use creamer at all. I make simple syrup at home (which is actually really easy!) and use whole milk. This has been a recent switch but I have not had any abdominal pain after coffee since. It’s worked very well for me! As far as protein, my body cannot handle excess protein AT ALL. Protein shakes / pancakes / pasta… ANYTHING that has extra protein makes me very sick. I’ve just had to eliminate that entirely. Of course I still consume some protein, but I don’t go out of my way to have more. Some foods I have switched to make me mentally feel like I’m eating unhealthy compared to how I was eating, but my BODY feels so much better. It’s definitely a journey when you have food sensitivity but luckily I have targeted mine and it was a few simple fixes for me. Good luck, I hope you feel better soon!

Wear what you want! Also Liam is adorable. I don’t think it’s your coffee at all but if it is try teas. I think you might have a sensitivity to the fat in foods. The only reason I say this is every food you’ve mentioned has a very high fat content that can cause cramping, diarrhea, bloating and abdominal pain. I’m no doctor but I learned this from experience . This can be related to a gallbladder issue as well sometimes. ❤best of luck figuring it out.

Good Morning Ladybug!! Coffee has the same effect on me at times. Since I had gall bladder surgery, about nine years ago, I have to be very careful about what I eat. So this may be an unpopular opinion, but I did Whole 30 and eliminated many things and felt like I was sensitive to gluten and dairy… however, learning more about hormones, I believe that my body was just so depleted from eliminating things that I almost created a sensitivity. I’ve now built up a tolerance to dairy and gluten. For dairy, I used a lactose digestive aid and gradually added more lactose until I didn’t need it anymore. For gluten, try to avoid lots of fillers in your breads or pastas. Fresh bakery breads will probably be your best bet. For coffee, I can do decaf or half caf, but I still have trouble with it on an empty stomach or early in the morning. You can try adding collagen to your coffee to add protein, orange light meal before drinking it, and maybe that will make it easier to digest. Coffee is very stimulating, so if your body isn’t nourished before adding the coffee, your body might be over stimulating and giving you bad tummy issues.
@moreamyb
@moreamyb 7 месяцев назад
That being said, I do believe some people have true issues with dairy and gluten but for most people, the sensitivity develops from hormone imbalance and gut issues.

Hi Mindy! So my husband has terrible GI issues and we are about to start a low FOBMAP diet. You can purchase an at home test to check your food sensitivities. Unfortunately though his issues are beyond that, but it did come back with some interesting sensitivities that we didn’t know. You know this, but setting up with a GI doctor is definitely something I would start with. I hope it gets better for you! ☹️❤️

I had similar symptoms I would get so bloated, and have such bad cramps it was just my everyday routine. my gastroenterologist recommended the low FODMAP diet and it really helped ( it’s an elimination diet where you slowly re introduce things back in after a while) but in the end we found out I had Hpilori and I had to take an antibiotic for a little bit followed by probiotics. I definitely recommend going to a gastroenterologist

So sorry you’re dealing with all of the stomach stuff. You may just need to take a gluten and dairy break. I was in the same position a number of years ago. I had to give up anything gluten and dairy to figure it out. Got allergy tested (eggs and oats still bother my stomach). I haven’t had regular coffee in 13 years, I can only drink lattes (espresso and with almond milk). Especially beans are brewed differently so I’m told by others who had my same issue with coffee but espresso doesn’t bother them. After I was GF and DF for 3-4 years I slowly added back into my diet but in small quantities. I don’t have the same issue with gluten but def do with the dairy.
@basic_CeceRae
@basic_CeceRae 7 месяцев назад
I have the same issues! It’s likely lactose and gluten. Also keep an eye out for sugar replacements (like sugar alcohols) because they can be harsh on a sensitive stomach. Also it could be a gallbladder issue and it’s not the dairy or pasta exactly but the over all fat you are consuming at one sitting.

This might have already been mentioned. Have you cleaned your Keurig completely? Mold can form, just wondering. There are a lot of nooks and crannies that are easily missed. If you’re fine with Starbucks, no issues, I’d say the Kuerig might be your coffee culprit. Or possibly the pod ingredients if they are like cappuccino and such, they might have dairy powder in them. Just a thought.

Okay Mindy I've been suffering with the same stomach issues! I have to wonder if it's because of pregnancy. All my stomach sensitivity started after my second son. I believed it was dairy too or just eating out in general like if i ate out I'd be on the floor sick that day. So i sorta cut out eating out and i limit my dairy. Like 1 thing of dairy a day so if i have dairy creamer that day nothing else has dairy or if i have cheese on my sandwich no other meals have a dairy source and that's helped alot. Along with warm lemon water in the morning before coffee and you MUST eat with coffee! Im not a doctor but these simple changes I've seen a big difference. Oh an a daily Probiotic!

I have gone years with stomach issues. It's not resolved yet but after numerous doctors visits and a endoscopy and a colonoscopy, I have found a few things that help. Definitely cut out diary all together. Switch to almond milk for your coffee, NO CREAMER. The almond milk cant have any preservatives and the nasty stuff like the gum stuff. Also, for your coffee try doing decaf and 1/4 of caffeine or half calf. The machines for coffee are also unhealthy and I would get stomach pains and migraines anytime I used a machine. Drip coffee is best. Also, get lots of protein and eat before your coffee. The last thing is the white bread and white rice. Yes you would need to switch to those for the stomach to digest easier it was the same for me. Of course like you said consult with MD, but these are all the things that have been helpful since I had no success with MD.

Have you tried a different brand of coffee? I find Starbucks to be very very hard on my stomach and I always have these issues as well, but fine when I have other coffee brands.

I had a massive needle phobia all my life as well until I went in for surgery for my endometriosis in 2012 and the fear went after all that. I used to also get sweaty palms and I used to hyperventilate as well it was a shocker. It can pass re needle phobia once you dont think of it and get the whole scared mindset off the table- it can definetely be an anxiety problem as well. Secondly, it sounds like a possible dairy and coffee issue- I can't do full fat dairy anymore since my last surgery re gallbladder removal but what I am able to stomach is a milk/ water mix for cereals. I no longer have cheese, cream or yoghurt anymore and only a dash of butter. It has been a definete lifestyle change but for the better. I only have espressos now and I quit spicy and fatty food as well as alcohol and it has improved my general health for the better. Pizza can be very fatty and greasy- had to give that up as well. Maybe if you still have it get your gallbladder checked out plus your liver.

I had similar problems last year for almost the entire year to the point I couldn’t eat hardly anything without it making me sick in some kind of way and my gastrointestinal doctor found that I had severe Gerd along with an esophageal ulcer which had almost gone completely through my esophagus and my gallbladder was malfunctioning so I had to have it removed. Bland diet is what they have suggested for me but I’m also a type two diabetic and can’t consume carbs and anything that resembles sugar so finding bland food that isn’t loaded with carbs has been difficult to say the least. Prayers for your tummy! ❤

Lactose, and IBS here. Coffee affects me the same way in the am, but I still consume it because it's delicious and much needed unless i have to be somewhere I don't drink it.

Mindy, if you do eliminate gluten, Sprouts will be so helpful! They have gluten free everything. Pizza dough, chicken nuggets, rice of all kinds, Schar bread is there in the gluten free isle and it comes from Europe and is 10/10, pie crust, the best donuts ever (pop them in the microwave for 10 seconds with some butter. Wow.), anything you can think of for the most part! So you don’t have to lack yum if you toss gluten! They also have the Bio-K probiotics. I know they’re expensive, but truly incredible. Going back to less healthy options and it working is usually because an unhealthy gut. An unhealthy gut cannot process healthy food. Too much fiber. Not enough grip from broken down villi. That’s why it needs to be built back up with supplements and probiotics. And healthy food ❤️

11:25 girl, get yourself a food sensitivity test. There are at home kits you can order. It was so eye opening for me. Also a little heart breaking because I had to give up eggs, cinnamon and tomatos but I feel soooooo much better now.

You should also have your gallbladder checked out, this sounds JUST like me, absolutely everything was ruining my stomach and I’d be in such horrendous pain from the cramping!! Had to have an endoscopy, colonoscopy and we finally found out my gallbladder wasn’t functioning properly any longer and had it removed. Also have IBS as well. But honestly after a few years I can pretty much eat anything I want within moderation!! Just make sure you have everything checked out!!!! Don’t rule out the gallbladder!!!

PSA: for anyone else who hates low rise jeans. Hollister has incredible high rise jeans! They are the only jeans I’ll buy that actually fit me comfortably and it’s hard for me to find pants that fit. They also have skinny jeans for anyone looking! I do recommend shopping online though because I think their selection is much larger. Especially if you need longer or curvy jeans. 😊😊

My twin sister has had the same issues as you but she has a thyroid issue. She’s also a coffee lover and has made the switch to mushroom coffee! So many more benefits and has been a complete positive game changer for her! I 10/10 recommend and it taste just like coffee! (I’ve also made the switch) It’s called “EVERYDAY DOSE”

Sending so much love to you, darling Mindy, wonderful Larry, and precious Liam! ❤️ My stomach does not love coffee, either, but since my English husband makes tea all day long, I love a good cup of British decaf tea with a stomach-safe coffee creamer. I have also thought about mixing up my own creamer just because it is so expensive; I am thinking about getting a frother and mixing almond milk, monk, fruit, cinnamon, and nutmeg. That aside, and with the utmost support for this product, I cannot handle the Nut Pods. They do not upset my stomach, but they do upset my taste buds- lol! 😂 I try to stay as low sugar with the creamers as I can, and if I'm going to have them, I try not to have artificial sweeteners. I wonder if there's anything you could do to reset your gut biome? If your stomach doesn't give you any more problems, which I sincerely hope it does not, then I suppose you won't have to do anything else. Lots of love, hugs, and prayers for everyone! 😍❤️🤩🥰🐣

I hope you find answers for you stomach issues, that is no fun! I sould suggest going to a naturopath and asking them to do a food allergy panel to rule out any allergies or sensitivities. I had Verrrrry similar issues with coffee and gluten and dairy sometimes, too, depending on which dairy products. And the food allergy panel gave me a good start on which foods to eliminate!

My dr said coffee is a diuretic or a laxative. The coffee is a stimulant for the digestive system. Some days it affects me the same way as you. I just tough it out because I can’t go without my coffee.

I went to a naturopath he was also an MD. He took 6 giant viles of blood and sent it to Great Smokies Lab. The food you eat stays in your system about 6 months. At least enough to measure what you're allergic to. Then they grade the allergy from 1 to 4 stars. The more stars the more allergic you are. I was allergic to 4 pages of foods. It's not a fast fix. I ate salad and chicken for 4.5 years. Every year testing and having alittle of the foods i was allergic too. I would get female infections, hives and vomiting. Finally after 4.5 years I could start SLOWLY INTERDUCING the food back into my diet. I also took acidophilus physician's grade. Those are refrigerated you now can buy good quality from Sprouts. Now it's been 20 years ago. I can eat most everything in moderation. Good luck.
