VLOG | I DON’T KNOW ABOUT THIS, EMOTIONAL DISCUSSION ABOUT MOTHERHOOD, MAKING NIGERIAN FOOD 

Been a mother now for 5 years and I am 29. I feel like from time to time I still grieve what my life could have been vs what my reality is now. Topics like this is so sensitive because people have so many opinions ESPECIALLY in the African community so I will tread lightly in my comment, however, because of this It almost makes you feel isolated because you can not speak freely. My advise to you is to be present as much as you can be, that way you are reminded of your reality and reminded that God has placed you right where you belong. Also know its okay to think about your old life but also acknowledge that was your old life and your new reality is going to be just as lit, just as blessed, just as abundant and prosperous! Many Blessings!

Don't let yourself feel guilty when you need a break♡ parenting is so hard, I have 3 and after each one I'd get so wrapped up in them that I'd get overwhelmed and be too depleted to be the mom they needed. It took intentionality to give myself the breathing room when I needed to decompress

In regards to Motherhood, just take your time in everything and make sure that you don't pour from an empty cup. Make sure your good mentally so you can be your best self of this version of yourself. Your doing great. Love from your Ghana 🇬🇭 sister ❤️

I feel you on the African stores. I found the solution a couple years ago for meat and fish. It may be a drive for you it is for me. Go to the Asian store /market on Crenshaw it’s called Dat Moi Market and they cut and clean everything. (I always clean it again at home). Hope that helps. They have all the seasonings, Caribbean, Nigerian (not as much as the Nigerian store thought) etc…

For Nigerian groceries in LA : there’s Doris African Produce 815 Kohler St Los Angeles, CA 90021. Next to it there’s a wholesale farmer that sells produce for cheap as well. And opposite there’s a butcher that sells everything type of meat including goat meat and turkey and they cut it for you.

Girl I am glad you said something in regard to finding yourself after a baby. My daughter is 18 months and I feel like I am still mourning the lost of my old self. I am trying to figure out who I am. It’s hard tho, because I wanna go back to who I once was but I also know that she doesn’t exist anymore and growth is good. It’s something I am struggling with till this day. It’s like I don’t have the time to either, between being a single mother, working full time and the other demands of this world, I’m just trying to stay afloat.
