Hi mam.. from middle east din aq and currently starting US journey.. unfortunately wala masyadong hiring in line w/ my specialty and would like to try acute rehab.. kasi naisip q pag med surg masyadong broad.. day shift po ba kau dyan sa US.. meron po ba kaung kasama regards to lofting and moving patient? Kasi dito sa middle east lahat tau d ba😅

hello! mas less busy sa rehab since less doctor's orders as compared to acute care. night shift po ako lagi, and lagi kang may nurse tech/ nurse assistant po.

Just to ask po, after your contract, will you still continue to be in rehab facility or you wanted to cross over to another specialty??? Totally agree, step down can easily burn out a nurse

Hello po! I am thinking to continue po sa rehab or post acute or semi acute care. But it really depends because our long term plan is to move to the state where our family is- and see anong magandang job opportunities po dun :)

Hello, nurse Alma! Thank you so much for uploading this video, big help po. Nabigyan po ako ng idea about In-Patient Rehab. Almost similar po pala to where I am assigned right now which is a Hyper-Acute Stroke Unit, may mga problema din sa mobilities most of our patients and need assistance with ADLs and rehabilitaion after maging stable kalagayan nila. Ask ko lang po sana, nabasa ko po kasi sa isang comment mo that you used to work in a Med-Surg Cardiac unit, how was it like working there po? Mahirap po ba? I got accepted in 2 facilities po kasi in the US. One is as an In-Patient Rehab nurse, and sa Cardiac-Tele unit naman po sa isa. I honestly feel worried that I might not be able to handle yung sa Cardiac-Tele kasi sabi nung iba sobrang physically and metally demanding daw and one would really need to have critical thinking skills. Would truly appreciate your insights, ma'am. Maraming salamat po! 🙏❤

hello po! Sa Acute Rehab definitely less acute as compared as cardiac tele. Rehab patients are supposedly more stable as compared sa cardiac tele since everybody po is hooked to a cardiac monitor (prone sa arrythmias, so may chance na mabilis mag deteriorate ang patient). If you worked sa stroke unit - na highly acute, I would say na you makakaadjust ka sa rehab - hopefully may enough staffing sa unit :) If nag hahandle a ng stroke patients na nag tthrombolize ng patients, then may similarities kahit papano sa cardiac tele. :)

Hello po. If you don’t mind po pwede po malaman name ng facility nyo?
@patrickrnramos6539

Tia
@ambuhayrn
@ambuhayrn Год назад
Hello po! So as far as I know basing on my experience po, rehab facilities/areas can be either sub acute or post acute. Sub acute care rehab patients still are more closer to acute care in a sense that they can start their rehab process but can tolerate less than 2 hours. In Post acute rehab setting po, patients are supposedly more stable and can tolerate longer therapy schedules, and are preparing for discharge back to community/home.

@ambuhayrn

hello! To me also depends if you prefer babies, pediatric patients, or adult patients. I prefer adult patients - so I started with general cardiac med surg - I think that was a good foundation. Some nurses prefer not to be on bedside, so they start training in areas like OR. Always consider what you are interested in and if you have a choice to start there. :) I hope that helps :)

Hi! If I may ask why did you choose to be in inpatient rehab?
@ambuhayrn
@ambuhayrn Год назад
hello po! at the time that I applied sa mga agencies and direct hires, it was the available opportunity, and I wanted to take a break from acute care kasi medjo nabuburn out na din po ako - given that nasa covid area ako for 2 years before ako madeploy. If magpalipat naman po ako sa inpatient (at that time), most likely sa covid area din po ako maassign and I just wanted to take a break from that po 🙂

New subscriber po, ma'am. Sana next po pros and cons nmn ng dalawa, like salary kung same lng sila, benefits, etc.

@ambuhayrn Год назад
