Tbh I don’t care what you post, I’ll watch it. You’re my absolute favourite RU-vidr. You are so calming and everytime You post I savour so I can sit down with a cuppa, rest, relax and feel calm. I’m so glad your back posting regularly ❤
I really enjoy seeing this blend of things you’re making along with some of your older style content. It’s a wet and windy day here and I could use a warm hat and sweater!
I've been finding sleeveless/slipover-style woollens very useful this winter, so maybe that's a solution for your mohair sweater, worn over a long-sleeve or a shirt or dress!
Hehe. "I hated it." Yeah it is hard to read books with the mistreatment of children for sure. I have not heard of any of these books, and I love that. It makes it more interesting to me. Always love your knitting pieces.
Hello Bayley. I agree with you about the book Verity. I thought it was poorly written and the twist at the end was just the tip of the iceberg for me. I don't think I'll be reading any more of her books, sadly. Edited to add that the way that people get around different due lots is by alternating the colours so it's less noticeable
Hello Bayley! Thank you for the lovely video! I agree with some of the other viewers. I have started following you a months ago, and I now avidly watch all of your videos. I am not a minimalist, but I am a knitter 🎉… so a little tip for when you use hand dyed yarn, or yarn from different lots is to keep alternating skeins every time you change round. That way you minimise the colour block effect. Have a marvellous day and give Luna a little scratch from me ❤
I am impressed that you actually kept reading the book you hated. I had a similar experience with a 600ish page book. ! It was well written, but the main character was awful. I could find nothing redeeming about him. I finally quit at about page 300. I had no idea how miserable I was until I stopped spending time with Nicholas!
Hearing you! Life is too short to read books you aren't enjoying. I was in my 40s before I realised that. Prior, I had thought it was great that I always completed every book I started, even Middlemarch. But I know differently now!
I hear ya on the knitting project. I have made the same mistake. Not sure if it is your style, but you could get another colour in kid silk and have the sweater half grey, half pink/yellow/white/dark grey ect. You get my drift! I do think that sweater would make a nice short sleeved sweater too. I like the short sleeved look... some do not! But I pretty much live in my knitted vests all winter. Because I paint, make, garden ect... and the sleeves are always the first to need darning... take care ..
I agree Verity was so weird. It deterred me from reading other Colleen Hoover books. I think I may try It Ends With Us per your recommendation. Thanks for mentioning they are very different books. Love all your videos!
I did the same thing with Colleen Hoover books! I liked “It Ends With Us” so I got “Verity” and was disappointed. Haven’t read any others. Love your videos!
Colleen Hoover would have to be one of my favourite authors - I'm slowly making my way through her collection. It ends with us and it starts with us was amazing. I have also just finished things we never got over and that was amazing too. Maybe try another one of her books and see if you have more luck
Great video!! Just downloaded Sweepy!! And, I’m so excited to tell you, one of my neighbors got me started knitting, so I’m making my first cloth like you made a while back!!! I wish I could send you a pic!! I’m very excited! I have shared your videos with her, so you have another fan in my neighborhood!!! Hope you all are well! Kristin ❤😊
The little ghosts are so cute! How frustrating that the dye lots gave different colors, especially on expensive yarn! I feel for you having to frog it all! I have a couple balls of mohair that don’t really match the color of the main yarn that I bought it for. So it’s been sitting in my stash for a year now. I might make PetiteKnits cumulus blouse, but I have exactly enough yarn, so I might have to play yarn chicken or make it short sleeved. Dilemmas of a knitter!
Would you believe I read Verity twice? I was almost to the end of it before I realised I had read it, left me feeling very weird after. I would keep reading her other books, most of them have me in tears by the end
I deeply hated Verity, too. I can appreciate why IEWU was so important for her to write, but I'm not a CoHo fan. I have decided Verity is heavily inspired by Daphne du Maurier's "Rebecca", which is one of my top ten books for sure. If you like the idea of Gothic/twisty mystery where you don't hate the characters at the end, you could check out Riley Sager's "The Only One Left", which I really enjoyed.
I would advise alternating skeins, which will make the colour difference much less noticeable. A lot of people will recommend the helical knitting method of alternating, but the yarn forward way is much easier: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE--dDqsolB-qk.html
I did not care for Verity. SPOILER ALERT: the whole sleep walking and her relationship with her mother is never explained or relevant and the why HE chose her to be the ghost writer doesn’t make sense. It was disappointing.
I hated Colleen Hoovers first book it was awful! So I definitely won’t be reading this one 😂 I just finished a book called Ask again, yes by Mary Beth Keane and it was such a good read, 5 stars!
Hi Bayley, Do you ship your project bags internationally? I was browsing them today and hoping to buy one but then noticed it’s just NZ. I’m in Canada :)
Hi, Sorry for the late reply! I have shipped items internationally before but it is really expensive. The shipping cost is usually more than the cost of the bag. If you would like me to give you an exact shipping cost you can msg me through my felt store with the name of the item/s you would like and I can check what the shipping cost would be. 😊
